This was a PR stunt and everyone knew it at the time, if you forgive THESE loans than other loans would have to be forgiven. They knew this, (everyone did) they just wanted the headlines. The mid-terms are coming up and the Dems know they're about to get their asses handed to them, their October surprise is likely going to be lame. If the Republicans do take the house and senate back, watch the Dems and their whores in the MSM and Hollywood throw Prez Hair Sniff under the bus, he'll be worthless to them. Everybody with a clue has known since Election that Lord Darth Obiden would be required to step down or die on 21 January 2023, so that whichever Libtard was Veep at that moment would be eligible to be POTUS for the next 10 years - the first ever since Term Limits imposed.
