This thread won't age well.
Are we going to put a Tick Tock on it and celebrate it's 3rd birthday in 2025 then, Ted?

It’s Time to Prepare for a Ukrainian Victory
The liberation of Russian-occupied territory might bring down Vladimir Putin.
To be clear: This is not a prediction; it’s a warning. Many things about the current Russian political system are strange, and one of the strangest is the total absence of a mechanism for succession. Not only do we have no idea who would or could replace Putin; we have no idea who would or could choose that person.
In the Soviet Union there was a Politburo, a group of people that could theoretically make such a decision, and very occasionally did. By contrast, there is no transition mechanism in Russia. There is no dauphin. Putin has refused even to allow Russians to contemplate an alternative to his seedy and corrupt brand of kleptocratic power.
Nevertheless, I repeat: It is inconceivable that Putin can continue to rule if the centerpiece of his claim to legitimacy — his promise to put the Soviet Union back together again — proves not just impossible but laughable.

Quote:That mechanism has never been tested when the previous ruler was alive and didn't want to leave power but it is no different than the mechanism in North Korea (The Democratic People's Republic of Korea). Funny thing about North Korea where the old ruler dies in office and his son always takes over, I mean Democratically elected son takes over.

I sure hope Russia doesn't copy this other mechanism from North Korea: North Korea will ‘automatically’ launch nukes if Kim killed -- 09/09/2022.
It could get messy if Putin dies and Russia ‘automatically’ nukes Kyiv.

Let's not forget the sanctions. It was said it would take six months for them to really start to bite. Well, it's been six months. Putin's war machine is broken. He couldn't build a tank if he wanted to.

Quote:Russian industry must be malfunctioning because Russia is purchasing millions of rockets and artillery shells from North Korea for use in the Ukraine conflict. Either that or their artillery crews can't hit the broadside of a barn from inside the barn. Perhaps it is pure luck when Russian artillery hits what it is aiming for. Why fire one shell to hit the target when you can fire a thousand shells where 999 miss? The missing 999 shells will land somewhere (kindergarten or playground or school or hospital or orphanage) in Ukraine, so the Russians would call it a 100% effective barrage.
