"Behind" is the least of it. We're watching 2003 stuff as current. An Colin Farrell was on Ballykissangel? And what is that when it's at home?

Back to Firefly (there, Belasera, happy? Incidentally...in Italian, it's "Bella Sera" two words, two "l"s)...had it survived, would it necessarily have moved networks? FOX would have kept it had it had a following. They kept X Files and 24 so why would they have let this one go if it had the numbers to back them up against a wall?

Belasera has a different meaning to me, I know that in italian bella sera is two words meaning beautiful evening (I think), but my handle has a more complicated history.

Easy description - Monarch of the Glen, but Irish instead of Scottish, and started before it. Fish out of water comes to new place where the locals don't like him and he doesn't want to be there. Eventually they warm to him even as he warms to the place - stop me if you've heard this one; we have had to put up with variations on this theme on Sunday afternoons for the past age....

And it was indeed BallyK that Colin "feckin'" Farrell was on.

AAAAAaaaaah!! Avoca! I went there with my mother-equivalent on a trip to Ireland three years ago. She told me this wonderful show was filmed in the itsy little burg, pretty I guess if you like that sort of thing, and she and the other old farts on the bus were prattling on about people I didn't know (someone called Grania? seemed to be a kid) so I tuned out and bought snack food.

That fish-outta-water thing is a real trope on Britcoms. My Hero here recently and Last of the Summer Wine from the 90s, plus these two we're talking about.
