So basically the Pentagon us saying... we don't know. We don't have any INDEPENDENT information (outside of provided by Ukraine) that will allow us to verify their claims.
So, why not have an investigation and get independent information?

The way this was expressed made me realized that "regime change" in Russua was a long-term plan.

So the plan was to collapse the ruble in 2015 and install a friendly government in Ukraine. Hillary would have continued that in 2016 but Trump was a big BIG interruption!
No wonder they used Russia to attack Trump! That killed two birds (Trump, Russia) with one stone!
And people have been predicting a false flag of SOME sort to justify/twist the EU's arm for more and more sanctions. Originally thought to be a chemical attack, whooda thunk it would be something as mundane as a "massacre"?
So all this is just a continuation of the plan hatched (most likely) under Obama. (GWB was all about the "war on terror", not Russia.)
I should have seen it. Any justification will do to keep The Plan moving forward, even if it means destroying Germany and torpedoing the USA.

The only thing we can be sure of is that almost nobody will go on trial for anything. But if there was a trial, it would be many years from now before there was a verdict.
Meanwhile, Ukrainians will be killing Russians more and more savagely and Russian soldiers will be wondering why Russia is fighting in Ukraine? What is Russia's goal? -- the soldiers will be asking themselves. They will probably shrug because they don't need goals, it's just a job to them, one that allows them to work while drunk. On the other side, fighting is a Ukrainian's whole purpose -- either kill Russians or die. Unlike during the Holodomor, where 4 million Ukrainians died for no reason, this is payback time and the Ukrainians are sending the Russians to hell.

You are mistaken, second. Those dead Russians were killed and posed by other Russians. Total false flag “production.” What we have here is the first war where both sides are killing themselves. If I were Russia I’d surrender to myself before they take another beating from themselves.

When you want to ruin someone, you charge them with heinous crimes. Just the charges themselves make people's blood boil, and they lose judgment on the quality of evidence and form a lynch mob. But trial by public opinion is no substitute for an ACTUAL trial with ACTUAL evidence, not hysteria, propaganda and outrage.

I remember Slobodan Miloševic as a fat smoker, so he pretty much killed himself at 64 years old, approximately the same age as many fat, smoking Trump voters kill themselves at.
