Russian spies: Charged with stealing Democratic emails
Mueller’s second big set of charges was of 12 Russian military intelligence officers. The similarly detailed 29-page indictment explains how the hackers allegedly used phishing attacks to steal files from the Democratic National Committee and the Clinton presidential campaign, then worked with WikiLeaks to distribute the information to damage Clinton’s candidacy in an effort to help Trump win.

You know what they say: You can indict a ham sandwich. It's easy to gin up an indictment (like they did with the Internet Research Agency) if you're sure that the subject isn't going to show up in court, and this is what Mueller did here.

But long before Mueller's report was completed, Crowdstrike had ALREADY testified (2017) that there was no clear evidence that ANYONE had "stolen" DNC emails.

Quote:

CrowdStrike chief admits no proof that Russia exfiltrated DNC emails

https://www.itwire.com/security/crowdstrike-chief-admits-no-proof-that
-russia-exfiltrated-dnc-emails.html

In fact, the timestamps on the DNC files indicate that the files had been created MUCH faster than could be achieved by internet transmission, and the fact that the timestamps were all even numbers also indicates a thumb drive, not a remote "hack" over the internet.

So not only is there no evidence that the files were "stolen" (hacked remotely) there is technical evidence that the files were physically accessed by someone plugging a thumb drive or two into a server-connected PC, and copying them.

Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort: Sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for financial crimes

If there are direct connections between the Russian efforts and the Trump campaign, one potential contact might have been campaign chairman Paul Manafort. A longtime Republican consultant, Manafort worked overseas in recent years, including for a pro-Russia political party in Ukraine.

And yet, despite $100,000,000 and years of effort, no such connection was ever found.

Konstantin Kilimnik: Charged with obstruction of justice

On the other side, a possible point of contact might be Konstantin Kilimnik, who the FBI believes has ties to Russian intelligence. A former employee of Manafort’s firm, Kilimnik was sometimes described as “Manafort’s Manafort,” while Manafort reportedly called him “my Russian brain.” A poorly redacted court filing from Mueller’s team inadvertently revealed that Manafort gave Kilimnik detailed polling information during the campaign and discussed a Ukrainian peace plan...

But not only is there no evidence that Kilimnik shared polling data, met Manafort in Spain, entered the USA on a diplomatic passport, actual evidence shows, for example, that he traveled to the USA with a regular passport and visa.

FROM THE ARTICLE.

Now THIS is a juicy one, filled with all kinds of entrapment and politicized prosecution!

Quote:

Former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn: Pleaded guilty to lying to investigators

As a foreign policy adviser on the Trump campaign, a member of the presidential transition and the first National Security Adviser in the Trump Administration, Michael Flynn had valuable insight into key moments in the investigation. In 2017 he pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about conversations with then Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak and agreed to cooperate with the investigation. A year later, he asked a federal judge to delay his sentencing so that he could have more of an opportunity to assist the probes. Mueller’s team asked for him to receive little to no jail time, a sign that they viewed his cooperation as helpful.

FBI notes at the time said both investigators believed that Flynn was NOT lying. This exculpatory EVIDENS was withheld from the defense team, which eventually cause the DOJ to DROP ITS CASE AGAINST FLYNN.

NOTE that they didn't charge Flynn with talking to the Russian Ambassador, or allege that his conversations with the Ambassador were illegal or even improper. Why didn't they charge him along those lines?
Because they felt they couldn't make those charges stick.

Now, IMHO, if a transition team makes informal contacts with foreign powers before the inauguration, that's pretty much par for the course, especially if the outgoing administration is going to set a foreign policy course that could permanently damage the incoming administration's goals. I'm absolutley sure that the Biden* team (Jake Sullivan for example) talked with both Merkel and Boris Johnson before the inauguration.

I've read plenty of puffed-up resumes in my life, and that article sounds like a bad one.

What I see, JO, is an incoming Trump administation with a different policy towards Russia, specifically the idea that Trump thought he could slow down the alliance between Russia and China, or possibly split Russia from China so he could focus his attention on China as the greater strategic threat.

A policy that the Biden* administration is trying to follow at this very moment, BTW..

Maybe you can't see the forest for the trees, but all of the allegations about Trump "colluding" with Russia, and Russia "interfering" in the 2016 election are just that: allegations. Accusations without EVIDENS.

I think the thing that is hard to wrap your brain around is the idea that the security state of two nations (USA and Britain) and the M$M could pervert the truth so massively and so constantly that it boggles the mind.

But all you have to do is look at all of the OTHER lies that the M$M has told, about ... well, everything. Even the potential laboratory origin of Covid-19: It was a conspiracy theory. Until we were supposed to wipe our brain of the "conspiracy theory" theory and reprogram it with the "new conspiracy theory" that it WAS a lab-based virus...

You see how that goes?

How many times do you need to be lied to before you get the idea that you're dealing with sociopathic liars?

And before you tell me that "Trump lies" ... I never believed him to begin with, anyway. I voted for him for three reasons that were achievable in his purview as President. The rest was all chaff in the wind and campaign rhetoric as far as I was concerned. Just like most of what dem candidates say.

Joint Chiefs denounce 'sedition and insurrection' of Capitol attack

The United States’ top military officers on Tuesday condemned the “sedition and insurrection” that took place at the Capitol last week when supporters of President Trump overtook the building.

“We witnessed actions inside the Capitol building that were inconsistent with the rule of law. The rights of freedom of speech and assembly do not give anyone the right to resort to violence, sedition and insurrection,” Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley and the rest of the Joint Chiefs wrote in memo to the force.

In addition to Milley, the memo was signed by Vice Chairman Gen. John Hyten and the chiefs of the Army, Navy, Marines Corps, Air Force, Space Force and National Guard.

The memo comes almost a week after rioters stormed the Capitol while Congress was meeting to certify Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election, forcing lawmakers, staffers and journalists to find secure locations to hide in as the mob ransacked offices, assaulted Capitol Police officers and stole property. One Capitol Police officer died from injuries suffered in the attack.

The siege came after Trump spent weeks falsely claiming the election was rigged against him and shortly after he told a crowd of his supporters in D.C. to march on the Capitol and show “strength.”
