Not that they will be safe here. The advise shoud be get out uv India and go to New Zealand or Australia.
------------
A sorta mile marker wuz passed today.
The United States iz no longer ahed uv the next 2 nationz combined in infectionz or fatalityz.
For most uv the pandemic, we were ahed uv the next 3, 4, 5 and maybe 6 nationz combined, but with Brazil and now India picking up their pase drasticly, it looks like it's numericly impossible for us to ever regain such a big lead. We just don't hav the population.
At the current pase, Brazil will pass us in fatalityz in 2 or 3 months. India'z infection rate iz akselerating so it coud overtake us in a few months on both measurez.
This iz going by the official numberz, wich are sertainly far below the actual numberz.

Smeed’s Law defines the number of deaths that we find psychologically tolerable. Obviously, Covid-19 has exceeded tolerable limits, which are different for each country, in almost every country.
Reuben Smeed had a fatalistic view of traffic accidents. He collected statistics on traffic deaths from many countries, all the way back to the invention of the automobile. He found that under an enormous range of conditions, the number of deaths in a country per year is given by a simple formula: number of deaths equals .0003 times the two-thirds power of the number of people times the one-third power of the number of cars. This formula is known as Smeed’s Law. He published it in 1949, and it is still valid. It is, of course, not exact, but it holds within a factor of two for almost all countries at almost all times. It is remarkable that the number of deaths does not depend strongly on the size of the country, the quality of the roads, the rules and regulations governing traffic, or the safety equipment installed in cars. Smeed interpreted his law as a law of human nature. The number of deaths is determined mainly by psychological factors that are independent of material circumstances. People will drive recklessly until the number of deaths reaches the maximum they can tolerate. When the number exceeds that limit, they drive more carefully. Smeed’s Law merely defines the number of deaths that we find psychologically tolerable.

Half as many people die every single year from Tuberculosis as the fake Covid numbers claim to have taken in more than the last 12 months, and TB and its complications are the single cause of death that aren't just "borrowing" from other death pools.
Smeed's law says that Americans don't give a single shit about that one because only about 500 of those deaths happen here.

Quote:I find how people think moronic AND amoral, especially about the subject of death. There is a direct connection to the moronic AND amoral thinking about building H-bombs to kill everybody on Earth a hundred times, but that is a subject for another thread. From the same MIT article about bombing Germany during WWII:

The British mostly supported Sir Arthur’s ruthless bombing of cities, not because they believed that it was militarily necessary, but because they felt it was teaching German civilians a good lesson. This time, the German civilians were finally feeling the pain of war on their own skins.
I remember arguing about the morality of city bombing with the wife of a senior air force officer, after we heard the results of the Dresden attack. She was a well-educated and intelligent woman who worked part-time for the ORS. I asked her whether she really believed that it was right to kill German women and babies in large numbers at that late stage of the War. She answered, “Oh yes. It is good to kill the babies especially. I am not thinking of this war but of the next one, 20 years from now. The next time the Germans start a war and we have to fight them, those babies will be the soldiers.” After fighting Germans for ten years, four in the first war and six in the second, we had become almost as bloody-minded as Sir Arthur.

I agree on the moronic part. A moron is a moron is a moron.
Morals, however, are subjective in many cases.
