The helicopter is attached to the underside of the rover. After deployment, the rover is expected to drive approximately 100 m (330 ft) away from the drone to allow it a safe "buffer zone" in which it will attempt to fly in April 2021

Is there a new space-race?? there does not seem to be a 'Race' like the cold war but China has people in space, space stations, it had a series of plants growing inside a robot on the Moon, it has plans for Mars.
China is not racing, they are moving slowly gaining with each step youre talking later in a much longer game... 2030, 2040-2050s timeline
Russia has made a comeback since the collapse of the Soviet Union, there are others Japan, India, Europe, Brazil, South Korea who have their own space ambitions.
