Does "Dead Like ME" Season 1 count? Hehe. I bought it for the wife for Christmas and it pretty much kicked ass.

Also watched:

"Shrek 2" (It's Shrek part Deux..need I say more? hehehe) 5 stars hehe..

"What a Girl Wants" (Amanda Bynes, Colin Firth)
4 stars

"Love Actually" (A great chickflick if you can stand them)(Alan Rickman, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson and many more awesome folks). 5 Stars

"Bull Durham" (Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Kevin Costner..this is Hysterical) Baseball Comedy. 5 stars

"Riddick"- not as bad as I thought it was going to be. 4 stars

"Bourne Supremacy" - Matt Damon is an awesome actor and without him..this movie would've truly sucked ass. Other then that 3 stars

OK, this week, I saw Hero (or "Ying xiong") with Jet Li and Ziyi Zhang (Crouching Tig...)which even though I slept through half of, was a very "beautiful" film. There's a scene between Snow and Moon "in red" which is really very cool. I noticed also that I still understood completely what was happening each time I'd lift my head up from my inadvertent napping. So, over the span of 2 minutes of snoozing every 10 minutes or so you might not miss much, but it is super visual art, with a nifty Chinese fable type of story with multiple point of view tellings to support it. So, I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it. Don't watch it if you're sleepy though.

I then saw Reign of Fire.

I haven't much to say about it except I didn't realize Christian Bale was in it, and forgot that Matthew McConaughey was too. Oh boy, I guess the dragons probably looked neat in the theater.

This week i watched The Lord of the Rings. All of it. In a day. Boy, was by butt numb by the end of it.
Yesterday I watched the Star Wars trilogy. That was much quicker. And it was even better than I remembered.

I saw The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou on Tuesday. I very much enjoyed it, although I think Rushmore was a bit better. I would definitely recommend it if you're a Bill Murray or Wes Anderson fan, though.

EDIT: Duh, I forgot all about my Netflix movies. I also saw The Ladykillers (the original), The Breakfast Club, and Adaptation. They were all varying degrees of awesome.

Well, let's see ... haven't felt all that great this week so didn't see much. I did finally see "Dude, Where's my Car" which was pretty funny but I was extremely glad it was only a little over an hour long ... I don't think I could have stood it for any more. The gals who would answer "We're hot chicks" whenever questioned as to who they were got me snickering pretty hard each time they showed up.

"The Trouble with Harry" ... Shirley McClaine's first-ever movie from waaaaayyyyy back where a lot of folks end up dealing with Harry, who is dead. Hilarity ensues.

"Croupier" with Clive Owen. Quirky and funny, but definitely NOT something put out by Hollywood. Neat piece.

"The Knack and How to Get It"; a period-piece from the 'mod' or 'beat' days ... quite interesting and offbeat.

Oh, and I was home one morning and caught the new chat show, "Ellen." Well, maybe it is no longer new. Anyhow, it was pretty funny ... much better than I expected. :-)

And I caught the first episode of The Daily Show for post-Christmas ... beautiful! :-)

And the ever-favourite special of Canadians, "Rick Mercer's Talking to Americans," the funniest bits being the various profs at Harvard, Yale, and Columbia who agreed to sign petitions about banning the seal hunt in Saskatchewan.

Resident Evil: Apocalypse - I thought this film was brilliant and better than the first one. (I'm a big Resi fan)

Alien Vs Predator - Great film. Not as bad as everyone is making out it is. The alien/predator wrestling match is awesome.

Shaun of the Dead - Great comedy film.

This is Spinal Tap - Another great comedy film.

Soon to see:
Alone in the Dark - Looks good from the trailer. Looking forward to it.

I saw "A Tale of Two Sisters" a few days ago. I'd heard it was a Korean entry in the Asian horror genre. That turned out to be true and not true. It's way more than just a fright-fest. It's not only creepy and intense, it's, by the end, moving and sad.

There are bits of "Ju-on" and "Ringu", sure. There are also influences from " Ginger Snaps" and "In the Company of Wolves", as far as the young adolescent girls/menstruation/horror connection. And maybe "Turn of the Screw" and "The Others" are in there a little, too.

But you have to add in "Mulholland Drive", "Repulsion", "Persona", "Donnie Darko", and every fairy-tale evil stepmother you've ever heard of, to get something like this movie. What a head trip! It's one of those movies you probably need to see twice to figure out what you just saw. Art house horror is not for everybody, but if you want something different, I highly recommend it.
