Honestly, not a fan...
He was one of the pioneers of hyper-partisan "rile you up and piss you off" "news" that has led us to a ceaselessly lying media that gives two completely different stories for every event that happens depending on the audience they cater to so they can sell car insurance and boner pills.
He got rich off of making people angry for decades, and now they're all getting rich off of doing the same thing. And it's never going to stop. This is our new normal.
Today's media on both sides sucks so hard.
Objective journalism is dead.
That is Rush Limbaugh's legacy.

Never really listened to him or anyone on the radio. I had lots of people tell me about Rush and other Conservative hosts on radio for decades, but I never had any desire to listen to one minute of that crap. My car radio listening is basically Radar Love and Patches.
I don't think it's fair or even accurate to blame Rush for what the media has become. He didn't start the shit; actually I believe he was just providing a traditional alternative to the ever-expanding leftist media which had enjoyed virtually unchallenged ratings dominance for decades until Rush carved out a little niche for himself.

Rush wasn't alone. If I came off that way, that's not what I meant to say.
But FOX News itself is another huge piece of that puzzle. Think back to how "boring" CNN was back before FOX news was a thing.
Now all any of them do is have flashy graphics, loud booming dramatic riffs, and tickers all over the screen subliminally planting ideas in your head as their multi-million dollar scum-of-the-earth talking heads tell you what to think in between commercials.
Rush WAS a big part of that. Rush's entire career was making people hate other people and has lead us to people like Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann and seemingly endless fake news propaganda websites like MotherJones, Vox and Salon on the other "side".
And at this point, it's never going to go away. It's only going to get worse.

His death is a cause for celebration all over the world. His evil has destroyed so much. He's made hate and cruelty fun and funny for his fascist cult. May that child-molesting piece of shit burn in Hell forever. Good riddance.
I'd piss on his grave, but I hate standing in long lines. Fuck Rush Limbaugh with a cactus. I will show him the same respect he showed dead people HE didn't like: None.
My heart swells with joy at the thought of his suffering and death. I hope it was excruciatingly painful. I hope he cried.
