I take it you never listened. Because none of what you said reflects what Rush OR his show was ever about.
Not one jot.
He didn't piss off everyone. In fact, those who listened, did so to get informed, laugh, share common views... only Leftards got 'triggered '. And on occasion, if you were a conservative, he only was the one delivering the message, not making it up, as the Networks do on a daily basis.
Rush never claimed to be a newsie. Didn't have a journalism degree, didn't even finish college. Because he wasn't and never had to pretend to be something he wasn't. He always stated who he was, from where he got his opinions and how it shaped his views.
Sad, with 30 years of a nationally syndicated show, some STILL have no clue of what he was about.

Wrong. I did listen to him. Every day for a few months when I was helping my mom and step dad in their shop years back. They were two of the angriest people I've ever known, and they'd bitch about all the problems in the country in real life like people do in the RWED here. They actually had stickers that said "It's okay to say Merry Christmas" on their cars. 365 days of the year.
I told them one day to just put music on and stop blasting bullshit talk radio all day long in their shop. Rush Limbaugh became a millionaire by pissing people off all day long, just like the assholes on the cable "news" talking heads did on the other side.
If you think for one second that pill popping cunt gave two fucks about you or anybody but himself, you've got another thing coming.
About 6 months later I was in the shop and the talk radio wasn't on. I asked my step-dad about it and he said that after our discussion he thought a lot about it and that I was right and they stopped cold turkey.
They were a lot less cunty after they stopped listening to Rush every day.
Fuck Rush. He's in the special hell now that is waiting for Rachel Maddow and Don Lemon.

Hey, shocker, not all programming is suitable for the work place. Big fucking deal. I'd rather go into most places of business and hear music than a heated discussion on politics, but that doesn't make the content Rush had any less valuable or important. Some days are more worth listening to than others. No one is obligated to listen to one show, one station, day after, day, week, month, year...

Most people weren't used to Howard Stern either. He reveled in the fact that there was no middle ground and people either loved him or hated him. But at least Stern was entertainment and not political.

You'd be right, of course, but to not recognize that Rush was just the flip side of that coin is where the hypocrisy comes into play.
You don't have to engage in hate yourself to make other people hate each other. I'm sure he never outright said "I WANT YOU TO HATE THESE PEOPLE". But his entire shtick was to rile up his audience and talk about how terrible people were who he didn't agree with.

I just hope that with all the bullshit surrounding someone like Gina Carano, they don't somehow turn a person like her into another Limbaugh type.
In the end, that's all this cancel culture circle jerk the Lefties constantly engage in leads to.
Eventually everybody is going to have to realize how terrible and self-serving these people telling us what to think are on both sides. It's the only way that people are going to start being civil with each other again.

You claim that you heard his show, but it’s evident that you didn’t really listen. Because you are just being lazy if you compare him to the CNN or MSNBC clowns. They are part of a network , legacy media, which has dedicated itself to attacking a certain group of people. Rush is self-made, an individual brand , which is why the elites in the mainstream media hated him so much. You can compare him to Howard Stern, if you wish, but was we have found in later years much of his earlier schtick was just that. And act. The same can’t be said for Rush.
The guy was such a racist he had a black guy on his staff in a most trusted position for 30 years. He’s such a homophobe that he sought out and convinced Elton John to sing at his wedding. Wow, what a bigot!

For such a self-described expert on Rush, your descriptions seem to be completely disconnected from reality.
In would venture that you have never read a single one of his Best-Selling Rush Revere books, otherwise you would be proving you are illiterate.

I understand his radio show will continue. And his wife/coauthor said the Rush Revere books will continue as well, as they had always planned.
Today, again, I heard a news report that Rush had died last Wednesday. That is 6 days in a row that I have heard a news entry announcing his death.
I am trying to recall anybody else who had their death announced on news for 6 days straight. I come up empty.
He passed away with his show at it's peak of listenership, and it will continue beyond him. I don't recall that either. Jeopardy's Alex Trebek does come close, but that show was not invented by Alex, Started by Alex, pioneered by Alex.
