Just remembered, there was a subplot in an episode where Cordelia was trying out for a commercial, and the director told her to put on this tiny bikini. He treated her like dirt, said she needed to lose weight ( she was nearly skin and bones ) , barked at her and basically threatened to fire her if she didn't cater to his every demand.
Just like Joss.
Angel shows up on set, nearly breaks the director in half, which leads to Cordelia getting fired.
Don't remember which episode this was, but I'm thinking early on in the series, when she was still a struggling actress.
Were the writes so lacking in self awareness, or did they think this was funny, making an episode of a dick head director and basically white knighting for women, when they were doing all this and more on their own set.
