Well I'll leave you to it then.

Enjoy.

Regarding memes, I'd hardly label myself from the "internet generation" since the firs time I used the internet was in college and by the time I had it at my place I was already in my early to mid-20's.

"Meme" was a made up word by Richard Dawkins, not long before I was born, derived from pseudoscience Memetics. Outside of anybody who red his stuff, nobody on the planet even knew there was a word "Meme". In fact, I recently tried using it against my Grams in a game of Up Words, and when she challenged me I didn't even bother grabbing one of her dictionaries because I knew the word wouldn't even be in there. When I later looked online to see if it was even in dictionaries, I found that Webster didn't even add it until 1998... 25 years after Dawkins first used it.

99% of people who used the word today didn't even know that it was a word until 5 years ago, tops.

Since then, it's taken on a much different meaning than the way it was originally used.

So when you say that you've seen "Keeping kids out of school long enough that we have record suicides among youth is unjustified." stated so often it's now a meme, it sounds like you either think that it's funny yourself or that people who are posting it find it amusing.

That obviously isn't what you intended, but that doesn't matter when 99% of the people you say it to believe that's what you meant when they read it.

Meme - The real reason why most high schoolers don't chug a gallon of bleach when they get home.

Person 1: What do you think about the new Kermit memes

Person 2: Dude those are so good I dropped my bottle of Drain-O and grabbed some Lipton

Perception is reality.

And in regards to Covid, your reality is a hell of a lot scarier than mine is.

I fully reject your perception of reality on this topic.

Good luck with your shots.

Does that mean you believe that Trump was NOT in the hospital with Covid-19?

Yes it does.

In fact, I even said so at the time.

True story. Check my post history.

NOBODY ON THE PLANET?? That's a yuge amount of hyperbole.

Literally everyone I knew knew the word and what it meant. Obviously we must all be from a different planet?

When they imagine they must have invented it, I'm sure.

Their ignorance isn't my problem.

Nope, just using a word correctly, the way wiki defines it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meme

No. Perception is perception. Reality is reality. Sometimes they're similar, and sometimes they're not. For example, a person tripping on acid doesn't REALLY have arms filled with algae-stuffed water, no matter what their perception is at the moment.

That's OK. I can deal with this kind of scary. I happen to know a fair bit about it. And as (I believe) you've found with your home, once you break down the 'scary' into things you can learn and do, scary becomes not quite so scary.

BTW, there were a couple of misspellings where I know you know better. So, I wonder if you're fuzzy on fumes? If so, maybe you could take a break from your project for while ... ??

You wrote in the thread: Chump infected with "Democrat Hoax" lol
Plot Twist: Trump might have just decided he doesn't want to play any more debate games now that the Democrats are changing the rules. He also goes into the election looking stronger than the opposition for "surviving" it without even a case of the sniffles when Biden is older and hasn't even had it yet. He's lied Twenty Seven Zilliony times already, right? Why believe this one?

Spinoza doesn't know you, 6ix, but he knows your type:

If men were able to exercise complete control over all their circumstances, or if continuous good fortune were always their lot, they would never be prey to superstition. But since they are often reduced to such straits as to be without any resource, and their immoderate greed for fortune’s fickle favours often makes them the wretched victims of alternating hopes and fears, the result is that, for the most part, their credulity knows no bounds. In critical times they are swayed this way or that by the slightest impulse, especially so when they are wavering between the emotions of hope and fear; yet at other times they are overconfident, boastful and arrogant.

No one can be unaware of these truths, even though I believe that men generally know not their own selves. For no one can have lived in this world without realising that, when fortune smiles at them, the majority of men, even if quite unversed in affairs, are so abounding in wisdom that any advice offered to them is regarded as an affront, whereas in adversity they know not where to turn, begging for advice from any quarter; and then there is no counsel so foolish, absurd or vain which they will not follow.

Second: Keep looking. I say a lot.

Kiki: Ya know... If you keep having to have the last word and forcing your unpleasant perception of reality on me, we might just end up not talking to each other anymore again.

Don't be a Nilbog.

Easy Trump landslide in November, just as it always was. Nothing has changed today. I suggest you all start resigning yourself to this fact now.

I heard the same from every Trumptard who voiced their certainty to me. "They are overconfident, boastful and arrogant." -- Spinoza. Look it up, 6ix. Spinoza knows your type.

Paraphrasing Spinoza and adding some recent statistics: Since 100 billion humans have died, millions more dead from Covid-19 is inconsequential.

Spinoza had an explanation for the average Trumptard's unwillingness to change their behavior because of Covid-19, but it is not for you. Spinoza did not imagine that most of humankind would ever become rational beings. In his writings on politics he is explicit that much of humanity cannot grasp truth and must be governed through the use of myths and symbols. He goes so far as to say that they ought not to read him: ‘the multitude, and those of like passions with the multitude, I ask not to read my book; nay, I would rather that they should utterly neglect it, than that they should misinterpret it after their wont.’
