You should educate yourself on the definition of a meme.

There is nothing funny about kids killing themselves, even if it were made up.

Chances are it is happening though, if NYT is reporting on it after cheerleading everything from the Left all the time.

As for everything else, I believe you're just buying into bullshit.

I'm not discarding any "facts". I'm discarding bullshit numbers that have been manipulated by the same people who always lie to us about everything else. I see no reason to believe this one, especially when TPTB are getting everything they want out of the end results.

Our opinions about this and how we're both taking it aren't going to change. I don't see any reason to argue about it. It's not like you or I are going to change a single thing that is going to happen, or like we ever would have had any opportunity to do so.

Even if one of us were to miraculously change the other person's mind, the net result would be nill.

I never said anything was funny about the claim teens are killing themselves en masse in the country. I said that that claim that kids are dropping like flies has become a meme.
: A meme is an idea, behavior, or style that becomes a fad and spreads by means of imitation from person to person within a culture and often carries symbolic meaning representing a particular phenomenon or theme.

THINK OF THE CHiiiiiiiiiiiLDREN! That's the meme.

I have no reason to 'believe' the US government about anything at all. I didn't when they claimed that Iraq had WMDs. I didn't when they claimed that Assad gassed his own people. I didn't when they said Trump colluded with Russia. And I have no reason to believe them when they say Russia was behind the SolarWinds hack, as opposed to ... say ... Israel. Because they had zero evidence.

But just as I won't accept anything without good evidence, I won't reject anything if there is good evidence.

Evidence is the dividing line between what I reject and what I accept. Evidence is the diving line between Iraq's WMDs and SARS-CoV-2. (And btw, the categories aren't immutable. As evidence changes, so does my thinking.)

Here's an example of an unevidenced notion: that hundreds of thousands of doctors, coroners, and ME's are falsifying hundreds of thousands of death certificates across the US.

In any case, the reason why you haven't convinced me is because you have no evidence. Bring me good evidence, and I'll think about it.

Until then, you're right. We don't have a reason to discuss this.

There is no evidence. Either way. So you choose to believe one thing, and I the other.

If we were living in a pre-internet world and the only means of getting the "news" out about the virus were the morning/evening news and newspapers, with zero interactivity and nobody able to talk to anybody besides the people they knew in person or on the phone, everybody would be like "what the hell are they talking about? ain't nobody dying."

As for that meme definition, that's the Lefty definiton of a meme that was brought into all of the Lefty run dictionaries after the fact. That definition is the reason the meme "The Left Can't Meme" exists.

Try Urban Dictionary. ;)

ETA: Hope you're not taking what I said the wrong way. I know you don't think that kids committing suicide is funny, but be careful how you use the word meme since somebody who didn't know you might think that you did because of your phrasing.

And it should also be noted there's quite a cultural war against memes, and there has been since before it became a household word, worthy of an actual definition in the dictionaries. There have been media claims for years about how "dangerous" they are. It should come as no surprise that they're trying to change the definition of what the word means, if you read up a little on the history of them.

There's a TON of evidence - 99% of which doesn't come from the US Federal Government that you seem to be so afraid of. And you just choose to pretend it doesn't exist.

Well, that's your loss in terms of mental function and stability. Only fools ignore reality.

And, in this discussion, I WIN!!! since I've presented far more evidence than you! HA HA!

Score: me LOTS!!
Score: you 0

Trumptards operate purely on emotions. Facts are completely irrelevant to them.

You have your feet planted in somebody's reality. That much is true.

Consider yourself lucky you're retired and don't have to worry about anything anymore.

OH - btw. I wanted to point out that 'meme' was a completely good word with its own meaning before it was usurped into urban slang. Sheesh. Not everything begins and ends with the ahistorical self-focused internet generation.

As for the reality I live it, it's the one supported by the observations and experiences of billions of people, and the entire background of testing and science, around the entire planet.
