As always when I go shopping and I see people I know, I stop to chat. It turns out that one of their relatives died of COVID-19 and another is still in intensive care. On a per capita basis, California is in the bottom 25 for total deaths, so I wonder why I seem to know so many people who've had friends, neighbors, and relatives die of COVID-19. Maybe LACounty is an exceptional hotspot for it, even where I live? (non-minority, solid working-class, suburban)

I dont look outside often, but its getting fairly common to see an ambulans out there.
