Daily Beast Editor Calls For "Humiliation" And "Incarceration" For Trump Supporters
Authored by Jonathan Turley,
We have been discussing the rising threats against Trump supporters, lawyers, and officials in recent weeks from Democratic members are calling for blacklists to the Lincoln Project leading a a national effort to harass and abuse any lawyers representing the Republican party or President Trump. Others are calling for banning those “complicit” from college campuses while still others are demanding a “Truth and Reconciliation Commission” to “hold Trump and his enablers accountable for the crimes they have committed.”
Now, Daily Beast editor-at-large Rick Wilson has added his own call for “humiliation,” “incarceration” and even ritualistic suicides for Trump supporters in an unhinged, vulgar column. Wilson declared “[o]nly exposure, pain, humiliation, and (inshallah) incarceration will lead to a moment of reckoning for the GOP.
Not surprisingly, Wilson is a key advisor to the Lincoln Project which was blocked recently on Twitter for abusive doxxing efforts directed at Republican lawyers. His column captures the level of hateful rhetoric fueled by the Lincoln Project, which is funded by thousands of lawyers despite its attacks on fellow members of the bar for their representation.
“Remember, the Trump GOP is shorn of all ideological and philosophical pretense, and even when Trump leaves office, it’s not over. ‘His cultists’ reign of terror will shape elected GOP members as long as he and his foul spawn walk the earth unpunished. Only exposure, pain, humiliation, and (inshallah) incarceration will lead to a moment of reckoning for the GOP. It should start at the top and work down from there.”
Wilson notes that he is not interested in the “reconciliation” part of “truth and reconciliation,” declaring a “hearty f— no” to people calling for reconciliation. Inside he called for the “motherf—ers” to consider “seppuku.”
Just as I recently criticized Trump counsel Joe diGenova for his rhetoric about drawing and quartering Chris Krebs, I will assume that Wilson is not seriously calling for ritualistic suicides. However, he is clearly calling for retaliation against Trump supporters as the Lincoln Project has carried out in its campaign.
Others like Elie Mystal, The Nation’s justice correspondent, have called for a “Truth and Reconciliation Commission” to investigate “[a]ll of these moral and ethical failures … and that’s before we get into the actual statutory crimes potentially committed by Trump, his administration, his enablers, and his family.”
The call for a commission to establish the truth of past controversies is ironic given Mystal’s abuse of teenager Nicholas Sandmann. We previously discussed the case and the example of one such segment involving “Above the Law” writer Joe Patrice in his interview with Mystal, where he attacked this 16 year old boy as a racist. Patrice agreed with Mystal’s objections to Sandmann wearing his “racist [MAGA] hat.” They also objected to Sandmann doing interviews trying to defend himself with Mystal deriding how this “17-year-old kid makes the George Zimmerman defense for why he was allowed to deny access to a person of color.” Putting aside the fact that Sandmann was not denying “access to a person of color,” Mystal and Patrice were comparing this high school student to a man who was accused of murdering an unarmed African American kid and even assailing his effort to clear his name as the media continued to label him a racist. Mystal continued to slam Sandmann in postings on “Above the Law.” In one such posting, Mystal derided Sandmann for filing for defamation. Various media outfits later apologized or settled with Sandmann for their false reporting.
What is most striking about these views is how disconnected they are to the actual election.
Instead a “blue wave” and the widely predicted Democratic takeover of both houses, Republicans picked up a sizable number of seats in the House where Democrats have beenNOTIFY: Y | REPLY | REPLY WITH QUOTE | PERMALINK | TOP | HOME

Below are the names of those behind zero hedge. Don't miss what I've highlighted in red below. This folks is why comrade troll SIG loves to quote zero hedge.
In addition, Lokey said he faced constant pressure to frame stories in-line with a particular world-view, which he described as “Russia=good. Obama=idiot. Bashar al-Assad=benevolent leader. John Kerry=dunce. Vladmir Putin=greatest leader in the history of statecraft.”
All of this matches SIG's playbook here and Putin's globally; exactly.
The men behind zero hedge
Colin Lokey, a 32-year-old former Seeking Alpha director
Daniel Ivandjiiski, a 37-year-old Bulgarian-born former hedge fund employee who was barred for insider trading in 2008
Tim Backshall, a 45-year-old credit derivatives strategist
Despite its populist tone, Lokey told Bloomberg he recently left Zero Hedge because he didn’t see eye-to-eye with the others when it came to editorial vision.
“Zero Hedge ceased to serve that public service years ago,” Lokey said. “They care what generates page views. Clicks. Money.”
Lokey claims Zero Hedge’s focus on traffic and revenue is hypocritical, but Ivandjiiski sees things differently.
Finally, Zero Hedge addressed the accusations of systematic bias in its content.
“We are certainly ok with being the object of other’s conspiracy theories, in this case completely false ones since we have never been in contact with anyone in Russia, or the US, or any government for that matter,” Zero Hedge says.
The site claims it has never accepted a dime of funding outside of advertising revenue and that Lokey was never pressured about how to frame his articles or editorialized.

According to the Bloomberg article, three men have been churning out all of the content at Zero Hedge, using the joint pseudonym “Tyler Durden” from the Brad Pitt film “Fight Club.” The 1999 cult film, according to Rolling Stone, is “about being young, male and powerless against the pacifying drug of consumerism. It’s about solitude, despair and bottled-up rage.” That ethos is frequently on display at Zero Hedge.
The three “Tyler Durdens” outed by Bloomberg reporters are Colin Lokey, who has now left Zero Hedge in a fit of pique and is responsible for handing over the internal chat sessions from Zero Hedge on traffic-building strategies and other matters. Bloomberg says “the other two men are Daniel Ivandjiiski, 37, the Bulgarian-born former analyst long reputed to be behind the site, and Tim Backshall, 45, a well-known credit derivatives strategist.”
The article notes that “Ivandjiiski has a multimillion-dollar mansion in Mahwah, N.J., and Backshall lives in a plush San Francisco suburb,” suggesting these are “not exactly reflections” of the anti-capitalism reflected in the moniker “Tyler Durden.”

Look, THUGR, either Daily Beast's Rick Wilson called for Trump supporters' "humiliation" and "Incarceration" ... or he didn't.
If he did, it doesn't matter WHO reports it, since it's a true fact.
Fortunately for me ... AND YOU, the author of this article LINKS to everything he said "they" said, so you can go back to the original opinion pieces and news articles ... and backtrack to what was originally published in full, and decide for yourself whether it was a true summation or not.
I'll provide you with one example so you can see how it's done

NOWHERE on this boardhave I seen the hate and vitriol from Trump supporters that you (plural) have displayed. Have you seen threats of violence from SIX? KIKI? JSF? ME?
When Trump had won the election, did you see people threatening you? When Trump lost*, are you reading any threats from Trump supporters here? The people throwing temper tantrums ... those are all on YOUR side, buddy.
And I'm STILL not calling for you to be boiled in oil, or stood in front of a wll to be shot down like a dog, or doxxed and blacklisted for the foreseeable future. That's YOU, buddy, and YOUR side.
But, apparently you can't believe what your eyes are plainly showing you.
All I want for you is to calm the fuck down and wake the fuck up, and realize that what we have is nothing more than a difference of opinion that doesn't need to end in threats and lies. Yanno, dial down the emotion. All it needs is calm, reasoned discussion. Do you think you're capable of that?

My suggestion, Sigs, is to just post the sources of those articles instead of any of those that could be considered "Alt-Right". (Meaning, post just the links to places like "The Daily Beast" and "The Lincoln Project" themselves, rather than anything that ZeroHedge or this "Turly" guy writes.
My enthusiasm for the next 4 years is not fake. Though 4 more years of Trump would have been great for the country, 4 years with Biden* will also be great.
2016-2020 was four years where Daily Beast and The Lincoln Project and CNN all posted the same thing. With Trump in office, making it seem as though they were all in it together was easy to accomplish even though that couldn't be further from the truth.
These outlets couldn't possibly be in bigger disagreement with each other if you look under the surface.
Post the stuff from these sources now and let them figure out that they don't agree at all with each other.

Well, I think I've got most people here sussed out:
SECOND hates himself for killing people, and can't stand the fact that instead of being a miserable old fart he's richer than a murderer ever should be, so he projects his hate on others.
WISHY is reacting to some childhood trauma, and she can't stop casting herself as a helpless eight-year-old so she over-reacts to anyone who she imagines is threatening her.
THUGR ... poor THUGR, he's never gotten in the habit of thinking for himself. He was at his most comfortable in the Army, when they told him the when, how, where, and why of what to do, and after getting kicked out (dishonorably discharged) he's been trying to prove to "them" that he's good enough ever since, so he continues to let "them" do his thinking.
CC... he's an internet advertiser, a paid-for liar. Because of his automatic and rather lackluster defense of the DNC I wouldn't be surprised if one of his clients was some subgroup paid by the Democrat Party.
And then there's REAVERBOT. I can tie a lot of other people's pathological behaviors to a personal response to something that happened to them IRL... something that they keep reacting to ... but REAVERBOT is like a total ideological bot. I've seen that in young people, usually university-age: wild-eyed Trotskyists who're going to remake the world and everyone in it tomorrow ... the fervent light of mania shining in their eyes ... but not someone who is old enough to have worked hard into a comfortable position, as REAVERBOT says he is. Because hard work in the real world usually knocks the edges off.
So there's something hinky about REAVERBOT. He really does respond as if he were a program. Maybe he's a bot ... I mean, a real bot ... or maybe he's a constucted false identity that lacks cohesion.
In any case, if he's a real person he's a nutter.
