I don't know what OANN is, but Newsmax and RT are just filling in the void that Old Fox News left behind.

Yeah. The big reveal that put this one in the mainstream was around 2-3 years ago. Like Cap'n said, I'd be surprised if there are very many people who don't know about this now. The real point is that anybody who says "well... I only watch my local news. I trust my local news." is just as mislead as the cable news viewers. The only difference is that they're just handed scripts at the local shows without much room for improvisation outside of the inflection of their voices as they read the teleprompters. This is because they're all either inexperienced or mediocre talents. The ones who get to pitch the stuff and are trusted to go off the cuff while getting the same messages out are the multi-million dollar talking heads at FOX and CNN and MSNBC.

That's great if you do. You're probably a lot happier for it.
Only recently, quite a bit after getting sober, did I ever really start doing it. I grew up being self-centered. I'm not blaming that on the alcohol... but it sure is a lot easier to think of nothing but yourself when you're spending your days either sleeping or drunk.
It genuinely does feel good though.
In fact, at this point, it is a motivator for me to get my house in order. It really is the only source of stress in my life anymore (as well as where a bulk of my expenditures go). I think once I get it down to a manageable amount I'll find that I'm doing more things around the neighborhood like saving my neighbor's garage yesterday.
This year I had to make my buddy buy me supplies for my own work in trade for helping him with his rental property. I felt bad doing it, but he already owed me about 90 hours from last summer that probably won't ever be repaid because he works full time with overtime, has a fiencee and a kid with another woman he's paying child support for, and pig tenants that let his house get destroyed because he was just taking that rent money and not ever doing inspections. His daily stress level has to be 100 times what mine is. But I wasn't even making him pay my tolls or gas money last year for all the free labor I was doing for him.
If my house were pristine and ready to sell right now, I wouldn't have to be worrying what I get out of helping a friend out. I think that will be nice.
