You think the 2020 rioting was bad?
Just wait until a few million people have something legitimate to start burning shit down over when the banks take their houses and their kids start starving because COVID Karens destroyed their lives and rich politicians couldn't stop politicking.
I know people like Nancy Pelosi don't give a shit when they have their $24,000 freezer full of DOVE bars and top shelf barrels of whisky waiting back home at them after the failure of the bill today, but I doubt very much that she has enough security to stop the people that are going to be coming for her if they keep jerking off much longer.
They'd best get started building those moats around their Ivory Towers that I suggested Second build around his place many years ago when I actually believed that he had any money.

Quote:Pelosi offered $3 trillion, but Mitch McConnell wouldn't even allow the Senate to vote on that bill. Four months later, his slow and low counteroffer is $0.3 trillion, which not all Republican Senators would accept. It is McConnell who will have a burning car tire placed around his neck by rioters. That is assuming those Trump loving rioters understand that $3.0 trillion is larger than $0.3 trillion. Who knows if they do?

House Passes $3 Trillion Coronavirus Relief Bill That Has Dim Future in the Senate -- May 15, 2020 -- www.npr.org/2020/05/15/856095507/house-passes-3-trillion-coronavirus-r
elief-bill-that-has-dim-future
House lawmakers on Friday approved a Democratic proposal to provide $3 trillion in coronavirus relief that would include a new wave of help for state and local governments, workers and families.
The House voted 208 to 199 — largely along party lines — to pass the measure. The size of the bill represents the biggest ever proposed and it includes another round of direct cash payments to Americans, extends unemployment benefits to the end of January, and adds hazard pay for front-line workers. It also expands virus-testing efforts, contact tracing and treatment.

Yup. It did include all of that.
And a few thousand pages of shit that nobody wanted as well, with a large majority of that NOT helping anybody who actually needs help right now.
The bill today would have helped a lot of people.

Mitch McConnell never scheduled a vote on Pelosi's $3 trillion bill because Mitch doesn't think Trump will win and that means most of the $trillions would be available to smooth the first months of Biden's Presidency. Mitch wants Biden's entire term to be a continuous crisis. Best way to make Biden a one-term President is for Mitch's Senate to never pass any bills for the next four years. If there are 41 GOP Senators to filibuster all bills, Mitch can keep America in chaos for years and win back the White House in 2024. That is Mitch's plan for America.

But that's fine.
We can sit and argue about it right here just like the idiots in Congress do in between their never-ending spring breaks... and god forbid any of them miss the vote to give themselves another raise.
But the time for idley arguing is rapidly coming to a close.
Except for the people who are staring down the end of their lives as they know it and have no voice to talk about the terror that brings to them, everybody else can just pretend that the COVID death counts or police shooting rapists and murderers even matter in the grand scheme of things.
Literally everything in this country is about to change. Even good people can do very bad things when their backs are to the wall and they've lost everything. And we're about to have a whole fuckton of them living among us.
Hope ya'all think the measures taken to protect some people who had other pre-existing conditions and were beyond the average American age expectancy was worth it when somebody is breaking into your house and pointing a gun at your head demanding some food... and then maybe just lighting the place on fire on their way out because they're salty that you still had a roof over your head.

If Mitch McConnell wants to demonstrate how Trump loving voters are really savage criminals underneath, then Mitch should refuse to allow a vote on Pelosi's $3 trillion bill. I hate to break it to you, but since I've been unemployed, I've put $5k into my house, paid my dentures in full and I've got twice as much money saved up right now as when I was laid off 15 months ago... all while still maintaining my 820+ credit score and having zero debt to anybody. I wouldn't have just put $600 into fixing my asphalt driveway if I was at all worried about where my food was going to come from 2 years from now, let alone next week.
Unlike you, Nilbog, I actually empathize with other people and their struggles and I don't go around doing the Marxist Virtue Signalling shtick because I'm riddled with guilt about what color the people who fucked were when they made me.
There will be far more Democrats that are out on their ass than Republicans when this happens at the end of the day. It will likely be far more minorities that are disproportionately affected than whites as well.
Yet these are the people I'm talking about. These are the people I'm empathizing with. Americans who were cut off at the knees and have no hope going forward due entirely to outside circumstances beyond their control and at no fault of their own.
But these are things I don't feel the need to preface every single thing I talk about with because I'm not a racist and I don't view everything under the microscope of race like you do.

So... Here's a weird one.
https://archive.vn/rgrIR
Quote:
Wisconsin residents receiving an extra $300 in weekly unemployment benefits are being asked to pay back the money if Congress enacts new legislation to replace the jobless aid created by President Trump's executive action last month.
Ummmmm... Why?
Do they not know how money transfers work in Wisconsin? Or computers even?
And to add... Good luck on that. Seriously. "Pretty please, give us the money back."
At this point, it's unclear how any further stimulus would be handled when Congress enacts it. Nobody knows what the amount will be. Nobody knows what date it would be retroactive to. And actually, until reading this particular article, it seems to have always been assumed that it would be retroactive until the first week of August when the original enhanced benefits ran out.
But the article says this:
Quote:
The (Wisconsin) DWD is anticipating that if Congress passes new legislation, it will begin once Trump's Lost Wages Assistance program lapses for the week ended Sept. 5 so that there would be no overlap, they added.
Why would they anticipate this?
Democrats in Congress wanted the full $600 and some were willing to go down to $400. Republicans wanted $200. Nobody had ever mentioned $300 before Trump signed the executive order. I doubt very much if the extension ends up being less than $300 that they will retro it back to the beginning of August, but if it's $400 to $600 it is very likely that they will.
I would also assume that the money should probably be put back into the FEMA fund where it belongs as well.
So why ask the people to pay the money back? They've got computers. Just add up the amount of money paid through FEMA to each recipient, then deduct that from the lump-sum that is going to be retroactive, and then take that deducted amount from the "CARES ACT II" or whatever they're going to call it and send it back to FEMA. As long as the amount retroactively paid out is $300 or more, this shouldn't even be a thing that anybody has to think about besides the administrators of state UI websites.
Why on earth would you consider paying the full $400-$600 retroactive after you've already given them $300 from the FEMA and then try and make the claim that the recipients are double dipping?
They didn't do anything wrong. YOU PAID THEM TWICE.
You've literally got all the power and leverage here. Once YOU pay somebody twice you've given all of that away.
Figure it out, Wisconsin. WTF.
Do Right, Be Right. :)
NOTIFY: Y | REPLY | REPLY WITH QUOTE | PERMALINK | TOP | HOME
Oh... It should also be noted for anybody who is filing for benefits right now, that I have read on one of the state websites that the FEMA $300 IS taxable just like the rest of Unemployment and the Enhanced benefits are, but that the state is unable to take out the taxes beforehand for the FEMA payouts for some reason.
I can't remember what state I read that on, and I don't know if that is a state thing or if that's how everybody is handling it nationwide, but do keep that in mind. You may be getting a full $300 weekly payment from Trump's executive order, but they will be mailing a separate 1099-G to you for it and if you have made above the standard deduction you will be on the hook for paying 10% of that $300 per week on your own. ($30 per week).
If you've done the right thing by yourself and had the 10% taken out for federal as well as the state taxes when you signed up for unemployment, you almost certainly won't have to worry about this since you were already overpaying and you'll just get a smaller tax return.
But I guess that's a whole separate issue onto itself. If you've been claiming all year and not paying any taxes on it at all, you better start saving whatever you can now because you've got a pretty huge tax bill coming your way in 2021 and you're probably going to end up having to pay fines to both the IRS and your state treasury because of how much you owe.
EDIT: I'm SERIOUSLY of the opinion that given the circumstances today and the huge boost in UI that the enhanced benefits gave that nobody should have ever been given the option to forgo having their state and federal taxes withheld for unemployment after April of 2020. Nobody is really talking about this much right now, but just wait until the end of March next year. It will be dominating the news cycle, and a lot of people are going to be freaking out because everybody was given the choice and few million dummies made the wrong one.
Do Right, Be Right. :)

Trump wants GOP Senate to change their unemployment bill to match the much higher number Pelosi wants:
Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump

Trump calls for stimulus payments and massive economic relief bill, upending Republicans’ more limited approach
WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump on Wednesday called on congressional Republicans to support a massive economic relief bill with “much higher numbers” and stimulus payments for Americans, abruptly proposing an entirely different plan than what the Senate GOP sought to advance in recent days.
Democratic leaders immediately seized on Trump’s new position and suggested it validated their position.
“We are encouraged that after months of the Senate Republicans insisting on shortchanging the massive needs of the American people, President Trump is now calling on Republicans to ‘go for the much higher numbers’ in the next corona-virus relief package,” Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., said in a statement. “We look forward to hearing from the president’s negotiators that they will finally meet us halfway with a bill that is equal to the massive health and economic crises gripping our nation.”
In his Twitter post on Wednesday, Trump mischaracterized Democrats’ position by saying they were “heartless” for not wanting “to give STIMULUS PAYMENTS to people who desperately need the money, and whose fault it was NOT that the plague came in from China. Go for the much higher numbers, Republicans, it all comes back to the USA anyway (one way or another!).”
Democrats had, in fact, supported these additional stimulus payments.

The relief hasn't passed because the Democrats want another 1.5 Trillion for their Communist pet projects and to bail out big cities that have been letting your alternate personality burn everything down.
He's telling Republicans to give the full $600/wk unemployment and put the stimulus checks back in the bill, but to leave everything else out of it.

I know of a claim which was started in the first week of May, and still has not been touched by their red tape process. That is about $400 of UIB and $600 of FPUC per week that Evers is withholding, for however many weeks that is. Sounds like almost $20,000 - but at least $10,000 just until end of July. None of it paid out.

Fed chair Jerome Powell is saying that Congress needs to pass a huge spending and relief bill. It would help the recovery and make life better for millions of people. There’s a stimulus bill all ready to go, but Republicans are stalling. Powell is trying to tell them not to worry just pass the damn thing. So far, it’s not working:
Those pushing hard for a bill include the White House and Nancy Pelosi. Mr. Trump tweeted from the hospital on Saturday that the country “wants and needs” more stimulus. For Mr. Trump, a deal would serve as a sign of his authority, taking attention away from his health and unfavorable polls.

Trump calls for stimulus negotiations to stop until after Election Day
(CNN)President Donald Trump has ordered his negotiators to halt talks over a new stimulus package, after the two sides have struggled for months to reach a deal.
"I have instructed my representatives to stop negotiating until after the election when, immediately after I win, we will pass a major Stimulus Bill that focuses on hardworking Americans and Small Business," Trump wrote in a series of tweets Tuesday afternoon.”

Why did Trump flip-flop? Early today he was for the Democrats' bill. But he had to be difficult because the Chairman of the Federal Reserve said today that the GOP should stop dithering and say Yes and Nancy Pelosi agreed. If Nancy Pelosi and the Federal Reserve want the same thing, then Trump won't do it because he hates Chairman Jerome Powell and Pelosi. Trump must be still woozy in the head from all the drugs he took in the hospital. He is not exactly thinking clearly.

On one hand, Pelosi wants to give the starving millions about $2.2 trillion. On the other hand, Trump wants to give them $0.00. I think they will burn down Trump's properties.
Trump offers nothing. Remember, he is refusing to negotiate until after Nov 3rd.
Pelosi offers:
Reinstate the $600 per week enhanced unemployment benefit through January
Send a second $1,200 direct payment to most Americans
Give $436 billion in relief over one year to state and local governments
Authorize more money for a second round of Paycheck Protection Program loans for the hardest-hit businesses and industries
Send $25 billion to airlines to cover payroll costs
Inject $75 billion into Covid-19 testing and contact tracing efforts
Put $225 billion into education and $57 billion into child care
Set aside billions for rental and mortgage assistance

Don't conflate Trump with Congress.
Nancy isn't ACTUALLY offering shit, because she knows full well that the proposals she is putting forth will not pass. She is posturing.
It's the exact same fucking thing that Mitch did when they put the "skinny" bill out that he knew full well wasn't going to pass either.
THE ONLY PERSON WHO'S OFFERED ANYTHING IS TRUMP.
In the limited powers granted to him, he passed some executive orders (which I'm never a fan of), that were certainly not some great fix-all and were overhyped by his administration after the fact, but they were at least something.
They equated to a roughly $1,800 stimulus for unemployed workers only and no interest on student loans through the end of the year. Though one is expired and the other will eventually, these were both huge.
There are claims that his order on evictions hasn't helped anybody, but as of this date I don't see people being kicked out into the streets like they were in the housing market crash... at least not yet. And though I'll shed no tears for mega-property-owners and the struggles they may have when they can't make people homeless for not having any money to pay rent, this will eventually ruin a lot of pretty normal people who own a house or two that they're renting out when the banks foreclose on them because their renters aren't paying rent. I don't see a good answer to this one at all.
And the payroll tax deferral order, admittedly, doesn't make any sense to me. It's temporary. It's confusing. It caused and continues to cause a lot of chaos for payroll departments and 3rd party companies. And it is only being deferred, so there are going to be a lot of dummies out there that don't even realize that they still owe money next year.
These orders, on the whole, were far from perfect. Like I said, the first two were great though. That was exclusively Trump who made them happen, because Congress isn't doing its job. Every time they start talking about doing it again a Covid spike occurs, or a Ginsberg dies or a President goes to the hospital.
I think this is a tactic on his administrations' part.
It honestly sounds exactly like what the Democrats are saying about replacing Ginsberg this close to the election.
Do your fucking job, Congress. Shut the fuck up. Pass a bill. Replace the judge.
Do Right, Be Right. :)

But I will point out that Trump's position is he wants Pelosi to give him free money with no strings attached so he can play Santa Claus just before the election while Pelosi has more complex goals stretching years into the future, goals which just so happen to be written down on paper in the form of several different 1,000 page long bills actually passed by the House of Representatives. Trump won the primaries four years ago partly because he wasn’t the sort of Republican who’d try to starve federal programs in the name of fiscal responsibility. President Ted Cruz might slash your Medicare but President Donald Trump didn’t even pretend to care about shrinking government. The fact that Trump is trying to lowball Pelosi on financial aid to voters in dire need of it 28 days from an election, in the middle of a pandemic, is an invasion-of-the-body-snatchers moment — as if Cruz and the Republican establishment had secretly replaced him with an impostor.
A conservative pundit was asked what he thought Trump was doing on this issue. He replied, “losing.”
Trump’s stimulus obstruction excites fiscal conservatives — and no one else.

But Republicans have insisted — falsely — that this is all about rescuing badly run blue states. And Trump echoed that falsehood as he pulled the plug on Tuesday, claiming that Pelosi’s proposals are nothing but a bailout of “high crime, poorly run, Democrat States.” (Not that facts matter, but Democratic states actually have lower crime rates, on average, than Republican states.)
The question is, why did Trump choose to reject even the possibility of a deal less than a month before Election Day? True, it’s too late for legislation to make much difference to the state of the economy on Nov. 3, although a deal might have averted some corporate layoffs. But it would surely be in Trump’s political interest to at least look as if he’s trying to help Americans in distress. Why would Trump choose this, of all moments, to torpedo economic policy?
As far as I can tell, nobody has offered a plausible political motive, any way in which refusing even to try rescuing the economy helps Trump’s prospects. What this looks like, instead, is vindictiveness.
The thing is, if he’s behaving like this now, when he still has some chance of winning, how will he act if he loses?

Pelosi's H.R.8406 - The Heroes Act https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-bill/8406/text
I'll tell you a little secret: Pelosi knows that the Senate Republicans will refuse to pass after the election any bills that benefit President Biden. If Trump wants a bill to benefit his reelection right now, he and the GOP have to go along with hypothetically helping Biden govern in February. If Trump wins the election, he is really only helping himself govern in February. If Trump wants to make his second term easy, he should tell the GOP Senators to vote for H.R.8406 - The Heroes Act. That way Trump wins the election and wins again in February. But if Trump doesn't think he will win, he should immediately start wrecking the country and make it impossible for Biden to govern in 2021. That makes it more likely Biden would be a one term President.

I just said that they should pass a bill that specifically addresses supporting the unemployed in the country without ANY other bullshit in it. Which even includes the $1,200 stimulus checks for everyone.
Neither side is willing to do that.
Trump is the only one who has assisted the unemployed since the beginning of August by signing the executive order that redirected FEMA funds to gave most unemployed citizens a $1,800 stimulus over 6 weeks.

I know somebody in WI who filed their Unemployment Insurance Claim on 7 May, and had not recieved one penny from them, withholding all stae and federal funds, until 14 October - 23 weeks. They finally got about $15,000 in UI Benefit payments. Over 5 minths without a penny, amid Libtard-defined pervasive Lockdown throughout the state.
Libs were unable to stretch it out until Nov 5th.

House Democrats have put forward a $2.2 trillion plan, but McConnell said the amount was too high. On Thursday, McConnell signaled that his limit is $500 billion.

A chief economist says Mitch McConnell expects Trump to lose the election — and breaks down why that means there will be no stimulus money until February.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell won't risk his position by forcing through a stimulus bill now, because he expects President Donald Trump to lose next month's election, Ian Shepherdson, the chief economist at Pantheon Macroeconomics, said in a webinar on Thursday.
To pass a big relief bill, Shepherdson said, McConnell would end up dividing his own party, since about 15 to 20 Republican Senators oppose a deal at or above $1.5 trillion.
But he ultimately wouldn't push Republicans to agree, because "splitting the party is death to the leader," Shepherdson said. He cited examples of the Republican leaders John Boehner and Paul Ryan, who also faced contentious splits within the GOP.
"There will be no bill of any size until after the inauguration," Shepherdson said. "Here we are, in mid-October, looking at money not flowing until mid-February. That means a real void for the economy. It means potentially some very nasty growth numbers."
But he said he didn't expect the two chambers of Congress to work together before then. "That means leaving something positive for Biden to start with, and that's not the mindset of Republicans in the Senate," he said.

The LWA payments which Trump authorized via Executive Order around the end of August, stating it should be $400 with Feds providing $300 of it?
WI has accepted the $300 per week, but has refused to include the $100 per week from the State. But they are withholding the funds, until the end of October - no specific date.
So that is an extra 2 months they have confiscated Federal funds directed to suffering citizens of the State, where Libtard incompetence and Lockdowns reign supreme.

But in reality these funds are really goping mostly to, in disproportionate allocation, to Libtard States, Run by Libtard Lockdown fevered Governors, who put all of their citizens out of work just for political gain or gamesmanship.

Democraps and other Libtards are desperate to shutdown the economy again, hoping to duplicate the Obamanomics recession. They have struggled to find excuses to Lockdown. They need to create Economic recession, high unemployment.
Trump has responded by working to provide economic relief to these citizen victims of Lockdown Libtards.
So Libtards are working to prevent these reliefs from getting to the citizenry, to prevent these funds from entering the economy.
Libtard Lockdowns need to continue until the Election.

Trump win or lose, Mitch McConnell won't allow unemployment benefits to pass the Senate. If the GOP is in the minority after the election, the Democratic Senators will pass a law providing unemployment benefits in February 2021:
Repeatedly, Republican senators like Ted Cruz (TX) and Ben Sasse (NE) have said publicly they want a small stimulus that limits new debt. So when the White House offered the latest $1.8 trillion deal, McConnell made clear he wouldn’t be putting it on the floor.
McConnell says he will not put $1.8 trillion stimulus bill on Senate floor

Prospects for an economic relief package in the next two weeks dimmed markedly on Tuesday after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) revealed that he has warned the White House not to strike an agreement with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi before the Nov. 3 election.
In remarks at a closed-door Senate GOP lunch, McConnell told his colleagues that any deal could disrupt the Senate’s plans to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court next week. Republicans have voiced concerns that a stimulus deal could splinter the party and exacerbate divisions at a time when they are trying to rally behind the Supreme Court nominee.

I'm finding it extremely hard to muster up the copious amounts of pity that everybody seems to have here.
Much more often than not, people have put on weight since April.
If you can't do the things that are going to save you from being in the .4% who are likely to die because of comorbitities, such as taking vitamins, eating a healthy diet in moderation and at least a bare minimum of daily physical working out, than you're probably going to die of all of those health ailments that you had before Corona Beer's stock price was destroyed.
And if you needed the radio and TV to remind you to wash your hands, you're gross and it's a wonder something else hasn't already gotten you in your sleep.

If Biden wins we won't have a mass murderer in the White House. We'll have a coordinated national plan that will reduce the spread as we get to a true and effective vaccine release. 100s of thousands of lives will be saved, if not more, and we can spend the next 4 years repairing all the national and international damage without Dump (and hopefully the GOP) f*cking more sh*t up.
Or, if Trump wins and he doesn't kill himself from an overdose of covid cocktails, he'll run the table and kill off the remaining millions of Americans who can still die from the virus. Without victims to infect, it will effectively disappear.
Tough choice.

Trump wants to sign a huge new stimulus bill. It is the only way he can win re-election. On the other hand, Mitch McConnell does not want the Senate to pass a huge stimulus bill. I assume that Mitch assumes that Trump will lose and has already switched to the worse it is for President Biden the better it is for the GOP. What is poor President Trump to do ?
Mitch McConnell is not President of the Senate. The President of the Senate is named Michael Pence. Michael Pence can actually preside. Then if a Senator (say Democrat Charles Schumer) introduces a Mnuchin/Pelosi compromise bill, it can be debated (Pence need show no more respect for regular order than McConnell ever has). Then there will be a filibuster. VP Pence can declare the debate over and call a vote. This would be a lie about Senate rules. McConnell would object and the Senate would vote on the objection. The Democrats plus 3 Republicans would make a tie so Pence’s decision would stand. This is how filibusters are nuked. McConnell can be outvoted if there are three Republican Senators who do not want to break with Trump, go against public opinion, and lose their seats. Then there would be a vote. The Democrats and 3 Republican Senators and Pence could send the bill to Donald Trump to sign.
I think it all works fine. Pence can say no to Trump. It is only a tradition that Vice Presidents are servants of Presidents, but that is not a provision of the Constitution (as Jefferson and Adams might explain). It is possible that no Republican Senators would see any gain in breaking with Trump. It is almost certain that Trump won’t do this.
But I think it is his only chance of re-election.

A subtle power shift is emerging on Capitol Hill as Republicans face a possible future that might no longer include President Trump.
The shift has been most apparent in the dynamics surrounding negotiations on a new coronavirus relief package.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has sought to avoid a vote on a massive stimulus package that would badly divide the Senate GOP conference right before Election Day, even as Trump urges Republican senators to “go big.”
McConnell told Republican colleagues at a lunch meeting Tuesday that he warned the White House against a vote on a massive stimulus package before election day. He quipped that he knew his message that was delivered in a private meeting would get out to the public very quickly.
“He made his statement prefaced by ‘this will probably be on Twitter in a few minutes,’” said a GOP senator recounting Tuesday’s meeting.
A majority of Republican senators oppose a bigger coronavirus relief package, even as Trump pushes for one.
“Mitch understands his troops,” the senator said. “He’s made the calculation that it’s not helpful to bring it to the floor because it would show we’re not on the same page as the president. There would be a lot of Republican no's."

They're not passing it because Trump is using it as a campaign promise of sorts, and it's too much money... too close to what the Democrats want. Everybody on both sides has been politicizing this to the extreme before the election and predictably nobody who needs the help is getting it because they won't compromise. (Again, there is a group of moderates in Congress who came up with a fine compromise bill that has been entirely ignored since August).

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Sunday she’s waiting for Monday to see if the White House gives a “final yes” to a coronavirus stimulus deal.
The speaker said the language was important because otherwise Trump could spend allocated money “any way he wants.”
If Democrats win the White House and the Senate and keep the House, Pelosi said she would not wait until next year to write legislation that could be passed without Republicans.
“The sooner the better — people need help right away,” Pelosi said. The talks ongoing are making the bill “bigger, better and safer” with retroactive benefits. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell prevented Covid-19 bills from being taken up in the Senate. Sen. Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican now locked in a tight re-election battle, reportedly declared it “dead on arrival” before the chamber went on summer break.

Quote:After Trump has won, what would be the reason for Mitch McConnell and Trump to pass a Covid-19 relief bill, assuming the GOP won a Senate majority? Neither man cares about other people, except when those people can vote to remove them. After winning reelection in 2020, neither will have a reason to care for the next two years. The Cares Act passed in April to insure Trump won reelection. The Heroes Act didn't even get voted upon in the Senate because Mitch McConnell believed that Trump would lose and the money would then go to President Biden. Once Trump is safe in the White House for another 4 years and Mitch is safe for 6 more years, why would Mitch and the GOP Senators waste money on a bunch of poor white trash who are homeless, starving and had their pickups trucks repossessed by the bank? The GOP will let those losers starve.

If Democrats get control of the Senate, Covid-19 relief will pass immediately after the election because the leftover GOP Senators will see that they might lose in 2022 and they will quit fighting against Covid-19 relief. By December, after all the legal challenges and recounts to all the elections, we'll know which side of the coin landed upwards.

Among the top concerns for an incoming Biden administration are the coronavirus pandemic and the economic recession. Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin failed to reach a deal on a stimulus bill before Election Day. Prior to election day, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell warned that such a deal might not be possible until 2021. Trump himself may also be little help. He already broke off negotiations with Pelosi at one point in October when such a bill may have bolstered his political fortunes; now he might see little personal incentive to push lawmakers to pass a stimulus bill—or for him even to sign one—if Biden will ultimately reap the rewards of recovery.

Well, not Congress, exactly. More like the House. Specifically Nancy P. Maybe that's why democrats lost a net of 5 House seats, so far.

Quote:Are you thinking that Pelosi was offering voters $1,200 stimulus checks and the GOP was offering nothing, so the voters went with nothing? I’m pretty sure departing President Trump will be giving voters even more nothing for Covid-19 relief. The theory is that the worse it gets for American voters in 2020, the better the chances of reelecting Trump in 2024. MAGA!

Republicans Are Slagging Steve Mnuchin for Daring to Talk to Democrats
As the back-and-forth for a new coronavirus relief bill drags on, Republicans are apparently furious with the Treasury Secretary's negotiation tactics.

Nancy P was stuck on "The full package or nothing at all!!".
For people who need money NOW, she might as well have been saying "Fuck off. My political games are more important than your immediate need to pay rent and buy groceries.".

Quote:If Mitch McConnell allows the passage of Covid-19 relief between now and Jan 20th then you are right. But I think he will instead reveal his intention, once Mitch lost his belief that Trump would be reelected, to make Biden a one-term President by preventing President Biden from getting any of the money Pelosi included in the Heroes Act for both Trump and Biden. Mitch does not care how much damage withholding relief does to Americans because President Biden gets blamed for it. Most Americans have zero understanding of who Mitch is. How could they blame a guy they aren't even aware exists? They will blame Biden. (I've asked many Republicans who Mitch is. Only the rich ones know that name. Mitch is very aware that he is powerful, yet unknown.)

So you're saying that Nancy P foresaw into the future that Trump would lose and set up a situation where no-paycheck-relief would be all McConnell's fault.
Sure.

Quote:NO. Mitch McConnell foresaw that Trump wouldn't win and because Mitch wants Biden to be a one-term President, Mitch did not pass any Covid-19 relief bills. Mitch could see that the Heroes Act would help both Trump and Biden. Since Trump would lose, why would Mitch pass a bill that also helps Biden? Even Trump is waking up to what happened. Now that Trump lost, why would Trump sign a bill that helps Biden? Just about now, voters will start blaming Biden, rather than Trump, for what is going wrong. Mitch and Trump will be pleased. They know voters are poor at targeting who is a fault.

Sure.
If Biden was smarter, he would stay silent until Jan 20th, while he gets his people organized to run the government. Biden would be forcing the voters to understand that Trump remains completely in-charge, not Biden, until the 20th.
Biden should be getting accountants prepared, all in secret, to audit Trump's taxes. And lawyers to block Trump's pardon of himself for tax-cheating. That is the most straight forward way to end Trump's political career. Trump can't be the GOP nominee in 2024 if he is in jail. He won't even be able to tweet from prison.

Prospects for a stimulus deal fading in the lame duck
With Mnuchin out of the picture, there are still questions about to what extent McConnell will take the helm and negotiate directly with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, or whether Trump will be willing to sign any deal at all.
McConnell emphasized once again Monday that anything that passes, must be "targeted." Translation: "targeted" means "small amount of money directed toward the benefit of the GOP" but McConnell will stick with "targeted" because that word doesn't mean much of anything.

Quote:In December 2008, Republican President George W. Bush approved a $17.4 billion rescue of GM and Chrysler because he didn't want the auto industry to collapse before Barack Obama was sworn in. "I feel an obligation to my successor," Bush said at the time. "I believe that good policy is not to dump him a major catastrophe in his first day of office." (Republican Senators vehemently opposed saving GM and Chrysler, as they now oppose the Heroes Act, but Bush was able to persuade a few to change their minds. With 100% of the Democratic Senators also voting, the bill passed into law.)

Just wait until a few million people have something legitimate to start burning shit down over.
Flash forward to today. Economists broadly agree that despite the significant progress on a coronavirus vaccine, the US economy badly needs more fiscal relief. Federal Reserve Chairman Powell, who was named by Trump, is among those calling for Congress to provide more fiscal stimulus.
President Donald Trump could help millions of Americans by securing a major economic stimulus package that prevents a wave of layoffs and bankruptcies before Biden takes office.
Unfortunately, this transition is shaping up to be the most turbulent in modern times, casting doubt on the prospects for a badly-needed stimulus package and coordination on the national response to the pandemic.
"2008 is a good example of how this is supposed to work," said Eric Winograd, senior economist at Alliance Bernstein, now known as AB. "It's clear that isn't the pattern we are going to follow this time around."

If Democrats can gain control of both legislative branches, they could then push through a larger package after Biden’s inauguration. Indeed, according to Mark Zandi, the chief economist at Moody’s Analytics, a Dem-held Congress could not only see a multi-trillion-dollar stimulus package go through early next year; it would also potentially bring another one in summer 2021, too.
A double win for the Democrats in Georgia remains a big if, however. Should January’s run-off elections see them fail to take over the Senate, they will once more find themselves up against a Republican majority against spending big on stimulus.

Trump, refusing to admit that he has exactly zero support from any Democratic Senator, tells the Democrats to support Mitch McConnell's GOP Covid Relief Bill. Instead, Trump should admit that he has a great deal of support from Republican Senators. If Trump asked his Senators to support the Democrats' Covid Relief Bill, all the Democrats would vote for it and some Republicans. That Democratic bill would pass despite McConnell wanting it to fail. By the way, McConnell's Covid Bill doesn't have support from even Republican Senators. It is a stinking dead dog bill that will never pass. (Even if there were 100 GOP Senators, McConnell's bill will not pass IN THE SENATE!)
The worse things are on the first day of Biden's Presidency, the better McConnell likes it. To make things worse, McConnell will do what he can to derail Covid-19 Relief. Only Trump can stop McConnell by appealing directly to Republican Senators more loyal to him than to McConnell.

Quote:Because I am contradicting you, 6ix. You make false accusations against Democrats in general of voting theft that didn't happen and won't, but you won't believe in what is happening in front of your eyes, which is that McConnell is writing Covid-19 Relief Bills that won't pass. McConnell does not want any bill passing because he wants to harm President Biden. If some unemployed people get harmed by McConnell as collateral damage, why would McConnell care? He won't because the election is over. Four years from now, the unemployed of today won't remember it was McConnell who did it. If McConnell explained slowly and carefully and repeated the explanation a thousand times about what he was doing and why, about 99% of people still couldn't understand it. But McConnell doesn't want you to understand.

Trump could, but he won't, be persuading GOP Senators to override Mitch McConnell's plans to never pass a Covid-19 Relief Bill:
The Trump who is shell-shocked by the election is no longer able to even fake an interest in issues like Covid-19 or the continued need for economic stimulus. The president is AWOL. He has abandoned his post at a moment when the nation is under fire to nurse grievances & spin fantasies. And no Congressional Republican will call him out for a self-absorbed dereliction of duty that threatens massive death & suffering.
Trump’s unwillingness to acknowledge defeat, lobby GOP Senators for a Covid-19 bill, and start the process of transition to the next presidency is perhaps the chief proof of this retreat into fantasy. As he disengages from the real world, Trump is leaving a bigger and bigger mess for his successor. But the bigger the mess, the more pleased Mitch McConnell will be because Mitch wants Biden to fail.
