Back then in 2016 it was fairly widely admitted that the polls 'oversampled' democrats by a large amount - and then (soto voce) failed to correct for that.

I don't know about today's polls. I haven't heard anything about the quality.

I can imagine WHY one might want to 'oversample' a minority group, btw, and that's to get significant numbers that'll be statistically more reliable. If you oversample to get a better representation of the 'central tendency' and THEN correct your poll for the oversampling I think you'd end up with a more reliable poll.

I would assume at this point that most sane people know that the polls are bullshit and in no way reflect reality, so nobody's bothered even bitching about the methodology.

The only one I looked into was the Ipsos/ABC News bullshit poll that Ted posted about a week ago that had an extremely small sample size and purported to be about the DNC, yet 90% of the people polled didn't even watch it, 31% of the people polled watched zero news coverage on it, and although they admitted to oversampling blacks and latinos they provided zero numbers at all on their methodology other than the total number of people polled, making it essentially impossible to even figure out their methodology without more information. And that was their official PDF document release.

Well good thing they admitted it. I was busy exposing it here quite often in the run-up to the 2016 election. However it was easier to do 4 years ago because they were much more transparent with their methodology statements than they are now. Funny that, huh?

But even at 6.3 I still said that Trump was going to win because the Legacy Media lies and there is zero reason for any of us to believe that the methodology of the polls isn't purposefully skewed as badly as it was in 2016.

Just like the polling for Trump's Approval or the General Election, I think it's all bullshit numbers, but it's important to track the trends, especially when so much external stimulus is happening along side of them.

And on top of that the "Top Battleground States" polling is likely the least accurate of the bunch since in most cases it's not an aggregate and is derived from one poll, or one recent poll and one or a few outdated ones.

The WI recount in 2011 was for State Supreme Court, with 33% turnout and only 1.5 million votes cast. Liberals claimed a lead of 200 votes. The recount ended with 7,000 votes.

Maybe we can get the real vote results. The recount in 2011 gained a bunch for conservatives. The WI recount in 2011 was for State Supreme Court, with 33% turnout and only 1.5 million votes cast. Liberals claimed a lead of 200 votes. The recount ended with 7,000 votes.
