I was watching TV and there were a lot of BLM protesters saying the police should be defunded.
But I have a different proposal ... just ask the neighborhoods if police should withdraw completely from the area. It could be a trial run for defunding. Give them a chance to see how much they like not having police around.

Despite promised reforms, police still shoot and kill nearly 1,000 people a year
In 2015, The Washington Post began tallying how many people were shot and killed by police. By the end of 2015, officers had fatally shot nearly 1,000 people, twice as many as ever documented in one year by the federal government.
With the issue flaring in city after city, some officials vowed to reform how police use force.
The next year, however, police nationwide again shot and killed nearly 1,000 people. Then they fatally shot about the same number in 2017 - and have done so for every year after that, according to The Post's ongoing count. Since 2015, police have shot and killed 5,400 people.
This toll has proven impervious to waves of protests, such as those now flooding American streets in the wake of George Floyd's death at the hands of police in Minneapolis. The number killed has remained steady despite fluctuating crime rates, changeovers in big-city police leadership and a nationwide push for criminal justice reform.
Even amid the coronavirus pandemic and orders that kept millions at home for weeks, police shot and killed 463 people through the first week of June - 49 more than the same period in 2019. In May, police shot and killed 110 people, the most in any one month since The Post began tracking it.

Police violence is a systemic problem in the U.S., not simply incidental, and it happens on a scale far greater than other wealthy nations.

As you'd like to point out whenever it suits your Liberal Agenda, murder rates are much higher here than that of other wealthy nations as well.
Even though a vast majority of deaths by crime are committed in the inner-cities, and in most parts of America you're about as likely to be murdered as you would be in rural Sweden.
Do Right, Be Right. :)

Big majorities support protests over Floyd killing and say police need to change, poll finds
Americans overwhelmingly support the nationwide protests that have taken place since the killing of George Floyd at the hands of police in Minneapolis, and they say police forces have not done enough to ensure that blacks are treated equally to whites, according to a Washington Post-Schar School poll.
President Trump receives negative marks for his handling of the protests, with 61 percent saying they disapprove and 35 percent saying they approve. Much of the opposition to Trump is vehement, as 47 percent of Americans say they strongly disapprove of the way the president has responded to the protests

IN REALITY, way more black civilians are killed by black civilians than are killed by police, no matter where your dart lands on a map of the USA. How about solving THAT problem?
And IN REALITY, Trump has fuck-all to do with whatever local cops are doing: that's up the the mayors of the cities and governors of each state. And he has fuck-all to do with handling protests until he calls in the National Guard or the military.
But that's OK ... Americans also have the memory of goldfish, and they will forget this ever happened in a month. That's another part of their induced stupidity.

Quote:Murders were 16,214 (2018). Covid-19 deaths were 110,000. More of those Covid-19 Deaths were Trump's fault, because he wouldn't react to the pandemic since that would cause the stock market to crash, then all the murders in a year.

I think you missed the point of the title to this thread G? Jack wants to see and enjoy the anarchy, the state of disorder due to absence or nonrecognition of authority he believes this will bring; again degusting.
Hey T. No, I got Jack's title (no matter what he says now). No, I don't WANT it to fail, I just don't think it can succeed. I think times are such that people might be over reaching and dreaming just a bit.
I definitely HOPE MPLS tries whatever they decide defunding and dismantling ends up being (looks like they will), because there will never be a better time for it - public sentiment is never going to be so receptive and passionate for trying something so audacious. MPLS is full of smart people, forward thinking people - if "it" can work anywhere in the US they have a good chance. Something needs to be done for sure - lots of momentum for this..
I'm lean more toward WISHY when it comes to trusting People. Don't!
