If John Bolton testifies its game over. Let me explain why. Bolton will name others, staff, generals, ambassadors and top intelligence officers who will collaborate his testimony. They then, will have to be called to testify.

No, the democrats don’t have to agree to the Biden’s being called. The republicans not calling Bolton at this point will be seen by the country as a cover-up.

The independent Quinnipiac University Poll regularly surveys residents in Connecticut, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and nationwide about political races, state and national elections and issues of public concern.

The January 28 national poll found 75% of voters say allow witnesses in Senate impeachment trial; 53% say President Trump not telling truth about Ukraine.

Democratic Sen. Kyrsten Sinema ended Wednesday’s portion of the impeachment trial with a good question that exposed one of many weaknesses in Trump’s defense: Why was the hold on aid for Ukraine done in secret?

The administration held up foreign aid to Northern Triangle countries in March 2019 and Afghanistan last September. Sinema, from Arizona, pointed out that in each of those instances, officials followed lawful procedure and notified Congress as well as the affected countries.

“In these instances, the receiving countries knew the funds were being withheld to change behavior, and further publicly stated American policy,” said Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, reading Sinema’s question. “Why, when the administration withheld the Ukrainian security assistance, did it not notify Congress, or make Ukraine or partner countries publicly aware of the hold and the steps needed to resolve the hold?”

Under federal law, the president is required to notify Congress to change how they’ve appropriated money. In the case of Ukraine, a top government watchdog found that Trump violated the law because he did not.

Democrats want to know: If Trump’s intentions were even somewhat pure, then why did the administration implement the freeze as it did?

A Trump defense team lawyer, Patrick Philbin, could only muster a weak response to Sinema.

Yup. And Congress is supposed to make declarations of war too.

How many illegitimate wars are we in since GWB now? It's hard to keep track of them all.

Congress is just really bad at its job.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Congress is NOT really bad at its job. Congress correctly sees, in my opinion, its job as getting reelected. Then who is bad? It is the majority of voters who keep reelecting the same old Congressmen: Reelection Rates Over the Years
Few things in life are more predictable than the chances of an incumbent member of the U.S. House of Representatives winning reelection. Senate races still overwhelmingly favor the incumbent, but not by as reliable a margin as House races.

This situation explains everything that is wrong in the Federal government and it is all the fault of the majority of voters. But the majority of Americans cannot see that their problems are caused by their crappy decisions. They keep hoping that somebody else, maybe Congress, will fix the mess the American voters keep perpetuating. But your Congressman failed so many times before so why do Americans keep returning the same failures to office? Because the majority is at or below average in intelligence. I want to get rid of Senator Cruz and Cornyn, but the majority of Texas voters will keep reelecting those two failures forever. Cruz and Cornyn know that, and behave as you'd expect for lazy employees who can't be fired.

Let's just put term limits on Congress. Problem solved.

Oh... wait. That would require a majority vote to put them all out on the street without any skills that are marketable outside of the political realm.

Nevermind.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Your solution lets the majority of voters be completely irresponsible for their stupidity in not firing their failure of a Congressman. That makes it a bad solution.

Well you're not going to fix stupid.

I believe that people who have a lower than 120 IQ shouldn't even be allowed to vote, personally. But, yanno, Democrats claim that's racist.

So. What's your solution?

Do Right, Be Right. :)
