Trump is completely opposed to adding dentist visits to a system of health care for all Americans. You won't ever get it from him. The GOP Senators will make sure that the Federal government never adds that coverage, even after Trump retires or dies. Dental insurance will have to come from somebody else, not from the political system. Who else, if not the wealthy 1% who are really in charge of America, more than even the most powerful President imaginable?

It's only a problem if you can't afford to pay for it. Rather than sit here bitching about life and my new normal I'm going to have to come to terms with, I'm trying to look at things positively. I can't imagine what people who have no dental insurance and need the work I need done do when they have no way to pay for it.

Yeah, but I created that problem. I never went to the dentist after my teens, even when I had dental insurance. I'm sure that the drinking and the smoking didn't do me any favors either, but I've got a hereditary condition that I wasn't even aware of until I bit into a hoagie 5 or 6 years ago and a tooth almost popped out. Had I been getting regular cleanings and not allow that tartar to build up under my gums for more than 15 years straight, I wouldn't be losing more than half of my teeth next week.

I'm getting it taken care of now. I'm solving the problem to the best of my ability. Sure, I'd love to stroke my vanity and drop as much as I paid for my house to get implants, but at this point I'll settle for removing the chance that I'll get an abscess that kills me, collapsed nasal passages, septic shock, gaining the ability to eat things again that I haven't been able to for years and getting rid of my now-crooked smile... even if the teeth won't be mine.

Trump won't do it, and nobody else ever will either. We've had Democrat presidents with a majority in the house and senate and it's never happened before. Having dentures is considered a vanity thing. That's because all of those overpaid motherfuckers on both sides of the aisle have never had to try chewing with no top teeth and if any of them need dental work they get shiny new implants on our dime.

But yanno what? That's okay. If the dental industry was put under the insurance umbrella, this procedure I'm going through next week would cost me $50,000 instead of only $4,000. I can't even imagine what implants would cost if dental hygiene were under the medical insurance umbrella.

I paid $2,600 back in the early 2000's for a three minute procedure with a little KY jelly on my balls and an ultrasound just to find out if a lump on one of them was cancer. Given inflation, that would have cost more than having 14 teeth removed, a full denture, a partial denture and the realignment that will need to be done in 6 months.

I'm looking at this as quite a bargain.

And you know how cheap I am.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

Countdown Clock, Trumps Removal 'Starts 'is the title of the thread. Not Jacks rotten teeth.

Perhaps this conversation belongs in the garden thread?

Such a long answer, 6ix. I continue with Why Trump Should Be Removed. (It boils down to him not being smart enough for the job.)

Donald Trump’s Encounter With The Constitution Did Not Go Well
www.vanityfair.com/news/2020/01/donald-trump-disastrous-encounter-with
-the-constitution-very-stable-genius

For the documentary, Trump had selected the opening of Article II, the part of the Constitution that addresses a president’s election and the scope of his or her power. It would normally have been the perfect selection for a president.

The president stumbled, trying to get out the words in the arcane, stilted form the founding fathers had written. Trump grew irritated. “It’s very hard to do because of the language here,” Trump told the crew. “It’s very hard to get through that whole thing without a stumble.” He added, “It’s like a different language, right?” The cameraman tried to calm Trump, telling him it was no big deal, to take a moment and start over. Trump tried again, but again remarked, “It’s like a foreign language.”

The section, like many parts of the Constitution, was slightly awkward—an anachronistic arrangement of words that don’t naturally trip off the tongue. Members of the crew exchanged looks, trying not to be obvious. Some believed Trump would eventually get it, but others were more concerned. The president, already bristling about his missteps, was getting angry. He chided the crew, accusing them of distracting him. “You know, your paper was making a lot of noise. It’s tough enough,” Trump said.

“Every time he stumbled, he manufactured something to blame people,” another person in the room recalled. “He never said, ‘Sorry, I’m messing this up.’ [Other] people would screw up and say, ‘Ohhhh, I’m sorry.’ They would be self-effacing. He was making up excuses and saying there were distracting sounds.… He was definitely blaming everyone for his inability to get through it. That was prickly, or childish.” Though stiff, he eventually made it through without any errors.

Trump presented a stark contrast to many other readers, including the Supreme Court associate justice Stephen Breyer, who read as if he knew the full text by heart, and Senator Ted Cruz, who “knew it from beginning to end” as a result of performing dramatic readings of the Constitution as a high school student, according to Pelosi. “Donald Trump is a celebrity and he came to perform,” she said. “He had not practiced it beforehand. I don’t think anyone would show up to read the Constitution without practicing it first.”

Whatever the reason for Trump’s discomfort with the reading, several watching agreed on this much: He behaved like a brooding child, short-tempered, brittle, and quick to blame mystery distractions for the mistakes. “I didn’t expect this, but I felt sorry for him,” another witness said. “When [Vice President] Pence is reading it, when [former vice president [Dick] Cheney is reading it, I knew they knew the Constitution. And I thought, Before he got this job, he really should have read it.”

Trump starts at 27:20 finishes at 28:10 in video.
Here are Trump’s words, but there is no reason he couldn't read them perfectly, the first time, other than he is stupid and emotionally unstable:
Quote:

The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America.

He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows:

Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector.

Lev Parnas Attorney Shares Video of Mike Pence With Indicted Giuliani Associate After VP Denies Knowing Him

The vice president has denied knowing Parnas after the Ukrainian American businessman accused him of working on an alleged scheme to pressure Ukraine's government. "I don't know the guy," Pence said last week, CNN reported, calling Parnas's claims "completely false."

In the video clip, Parnas is seen holding the hand of Karen Pence and talking with her as the vice president stands by her side, speaking to someone else. Towards the end of the 23-second video, Parnas is seen reaching towards Mike Pence, waiting to shake his hand.

I'm sure you know the name of every man and woman you've ever shaken hands with in your life. That doesn't mean anything.

Here's the part where I was going to show a scene from Richard Pryor's "The Toy", but it looks as though the scene I was looking for isn't on youtube, so I'll just post this explanation of it from Wikipedia instead.

An outdoor party is later held at the Bates estate, attended by prominent citizens who are supporters of a senator. They are unaware that members of the KKK are also in attendance. Jack's wife, Angela, tries to bring attention to this with her anti-Klan group, but Jack convinces her to let him and Eric handle the situation. He learns the true reason for the party is to get the KKK Grand Wizard and the senator together in a picture, which Bates would then use to blackmail the senator into passing tax cuts that would benefits the wealthy. Jack and Eric team up to disrupt the party, while Angela and her group cheer them on from a distance. Jack exposes Bates' intentions to the senator, who immediately leaves the party in disgust. Jack then embarrasses the Grand Wizard by causing him to fall into a giant bowl of chocolate fudge.
