Sadly, I know all too well. Glad you're over the worst of it. Hopefully it doesn't linger on with you like it does with me. Ever since I inhaled toxic levels of bleach years back, it usually sticks around for about 4 to 5 weeks later as a pretty nasty case of bronchitis when I get over the fever.

We're in for a mess around here. One inch of snow in the afternoon, three to six overnight turning into rain by around 4AM with the heaviest of the rain ending around noon tomorrow but with a chance of snow the rest of the day as it drops from a 40 degree high to a low of 7 degrees overnight.
I'm not driving anywhere...
I just hope the power stays on this time. Not feeling an all nighter screwing around with my generator in the middle of January.
They're already giving a river flood warning until Tuesday morning because the ground is frozen and there's nowhere for all of this to go. More water in my basement tomorrow I guess.... *sigh*

No snow or rain last night just a good dose of fog that rolled in around 8pm, I think. Rolled out by midnight.

White out and heavy blizzard conditions taking a toll on Newfoundland and Labrador. That storm will be moving out tomorrow but another is moving in and first hitting Ontario and Quebec.

Looks like we might have gotten lucky, at least maybe just a pocket by me didn't get hit with the lake effect stuff... It's still going to rain now for about 5 hours, but it should stop before it cools off and we get much snow. They're still talking about river flood warnings until Tuesday, but I'm not really sure why with not much chance of rain the next few days. Maybe other people in the area got hit really hard.
But it will be nasty cold the next 3 days and nights, and I don't see 40 degrees in the forecast for the next 15 days. Bummer...

Been fighting this flu since Monday. Not a big fan of taking medicime for symptom relief, but one thing I AM a believer in is taking meds for comfort before bedtime, so I can get a good night's sleep. IMHO that's really key to getting better. Anyway, yesterday was the worst. I crawled (back) into bed around 9 AM feeling like a block of ice and hurting everywhere, and just stayed there and didn't wake up again until after 4 PM. Can't believe what a good dog our doggie was- except for the morning when she really REALLY needed to go outside she just curled up next to me patiently waiting for me to get up. I thought for sure she'd be a total annoyance. It's almost as if she knew I was sick, and throttled back her 2-year-old-toddler-equivalent-energy for which I am EXTREMELY grateful, since the rest of the household was in only marginally better shape than me.
SIX, you posted somewhere that you tend to wind up with a wheezing cough. May I suggest cough syrup with dextromethorphan (cough suppressant) and guaifenesen (expectorant, loosens mucus). The problem with a scantly productive frequent cough is that the cough itself irritates the trachea and bronchi, leading to more cough more ittitation and more cough. So Robitussin DM or generic equivalent. It might help you thru the worst of many flus; it sure worked for me! Also, drinking any warm light beverage (I like warm water best). Ibuprofen for fever and aches. So far been very useful as a bedtime regimen.
Anyway. I'm definitely on the mend, yay!!!

Been dealing with a bit of a cold here, but it's nothing serious. I mean, I hope not to have to deal with it this year, but really I just want to make it another 10 or so days at least so I can get my oral surgery done first. I doubt very much they'll take me if I've got the flu and I had to wait almost 2 months since I scheduled the appointment to get this done finally.
I'll keep that in mind. I don't usually like taking meds, but even in prime shape while working the job last year the flu killed my performance at work for about a month after the fever broke.

Gross... so much for rain washing anything away. It's technically "raining" for the next few hours, but even though it's 5 degrees above freezing it's only raining enough to turn the existing snow into slush that will no doubt become a fine sheet of ice, turning our entire neighborhood into a skating rink by mid afternoon when it will begin snowing for a few hours, and subsequently drop to single digits over night.
I usually covet the life of the mailman, but then days like today happen.
