This whole thing has been waaay too easy.

If you wanted your own general dead (as he was apparently planning a coup, thanks for that THG) would you tell your enemies where and when? Then arrange a little "show of strength" that doesn't kill anyone? Then they announce that Iran is "backing down"?? Then, they pretty much had their missile defense system on autopilot, taking out a plane??

Seriously, there isn't a damn thing about this that passes a sniff test.

Uh huh. It’s common practice to share this kind of information with the leaders of Congress, the so-called Gang of Eight. Their reputation for keeping secrets is pretty spotless. And yet, Trump still hasn’t done this. He just insists that the evidence is bulletproof and we should take him at his word.

I sure don’t. I think he’s lying. He killed Soleimani in a fit of pique and now he’s trying to invent some kind of massive attack on American forces that’s entirely out of character for Iran.

I always believed Obama was the equivalent to Bush, if Bush hadn't been stupid. Obama followed the path laid out by Bush, except Obama did it competently -- see, for example, Obama forcing all parts of government to cooperate in killing Osama bin Laden, completely unlike incompetent Bush. Or Obama not crashing the economy, again, completely unlike dummy Bush. And yet Republicans hated Obama, when he was simply a much better Republican than Bush.
