Trump impeached by the House. WOOHOO! You'd think it would be celebrating instead of behaving like an angry drunk.

1. The Dems will say publicly they are holding things up until Moscow Mitch agrees to certain trial terms. I think that's just a stall, though. I think every Dem knows McConnell will never bend, so the stall is built in to go as long as the Dems want it to.

2. The reason the Dems want the stall is because there's more evidence of Trump's sh*tty lying behavior about to come out ala Lev and Igor and Rudy. It's just going to look worse and worse for Trump. NOT that he will be removed because of it, but he will look that much worse to any undecideds in NOV. The guy is his own worst enemy and can't keep his mouth shut. So basically, let him hang himself. That would be sweet justice.

Good analysis.

The GoPs are increasingly dependent on their chump voterz never sticking their hedz outside the eko chamber. But if the noize outside gets loud enuf, it just wont be possible.

Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump is angry tweeting at Christianity Today:

A far left magazine, or very “progressive,” as some would call it, which has been doing poorly and hasn’t been involved with the Billy Graham family for many years, Christianity Today, knows nothing about reading a perfect transcript of a routine phone call and would rather have a Radical Left nonbeliever, who wants to take your religion & your guns, than Donald Trump as your President. No President has done more for the Evangelical community, and it’s not even close. You’ll not get anything from those Dems on stage. I won’t be reading ET again!

Christianity Today wrote "Trump Should Be Removed from Office"
It’s time to say what we said 20 years ago when a president’s character was revealed for what it was.

In our founding documents, Billy Graham explains that Christianity Today will help evangelical Christians interpret the news in a manner that reflects their faith. The impeachment of Donald Trump is a significant event in the story of our republic. It requires comment.

The typical CT approach is to stay above the fray and allow Christians with different political convictions to make their arguments in the public square, to encourage all to pursue justice according to their convictions and treat their political opposition as charitably as possible. We want CT to be a place that welcomes Christians from across the political spectrum, and reminds everyone that politics is not the end and purpose of our being. We take pride in the fact, for instance, that politics does not dominate our homepage.

That said, we do feel it necessary from time to time to make our own opinions on political matters clear—always, as Graham encouraged us, doing so with both conviction and love. We love and pray for our president, as we love and pray for leaders (as well as ordinary citizens) on both sides of the political aisle.

Let’s grant this to the president: The Democrats have had it out for him from day one, and therefore nearly everything they do is under a cloud of partisan suspicion. This has led many to suspect not only motives but facts in these recent impeachment hearings. And, no, Mr. Trump did not have a serious opportunity to offer his side of the story in the House hearings on impeachment.

But the facts in this instance are unambiguous: The president of the United States attempted to use his political power to coerce a foreign leader to harass and discredit one of the president’s political opponents. That is not only a violation of the Constitution; more importantly, it is profoundly immoral.

The reason many are not shocked about this is that this president has dumbed down the idea of morality in his administration. He has hired and fired a number of people who are now convicted criminals. He himself has admitted to immoral actions in business and his relationship with women, about which he remains proud. His Twitter feed alone—with its habitual string of mischaracterizations, lies, and slanders—is a near perfect example of a human being who is morally lost and confused.

The latest Russia bombshell bolsters Democrats’ demand for evidence

After meeting privately in July 2017 with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Group of 20 summit in Hamburg, [President] Trump grew more insistent that Ukraine worked to defeat him, according to multiple former officials familiar with his assertions.

The president’s intense resistance to the assessment of U.S. intelligence agencies that Russia systematically interfered in the 2016 campaign — and the blame he cast instead on a rival country — led many of his advisers to think that Putin himself helped spur the idea of Ukraine’s culpability, said the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe internal discussions.

The report continues: “One former senior White House official said Trump even stated so explicitly at one point, saying he knew Ukraine was the real culprit because ‘Putin told me.’ Two other former officials said the senior White House official described Trump’s comment to them.” In short, “The concern among senior White House officials that Putin helped fuel Trump’s theories about Ukraine underscores long-standing fears inside the administration about the Russian president’s ability to influence Trump’s views.” Finally, "Three former senior administration officials said Trump repeatedly insisted after the G-20 summit that he believed Putin’s assurances that Russia had not interfered in the 2016 campaign. The officials said [chief of staff John] Kelly, national security adviser H.R. McMaster and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson all tried to caution Trump not to rely on Putin’s word, and to focus on evidence to the contrary that U.S. intelligence agencies had collected.”

There could be no better example as to why the Senate must be able to subpoena former officials for the impeachment trial and obtain documents Trump has concealed under a spurious absolute immunity defense. It is essential to end the Trump coverup and figure out how to force John Kelly, H.R. McMaster and Rex Tillerson to appear in the Senate trial.

JO: Good analysis.

The GoPs are increasingly dependent on their chump voterz never sticking their hedz outside the eko chamber. But if the noize outside gets loud enuf, it just wont be possible.

Incomplete analysis.

The Dems had NO evidence of any high crime or misdemeanor. If you had paid attention to what the so-called witnesses testified, you yourself would have realized that they heard nothing, saw nothing, and did nothing. Nobody testified that the transcript was inaccurate, and neither person at either end of the phone call (Trump, Zelenskiy) said there was any pressure.

So if the Dems believe that more evidence [I can't say "more" evidence because none was presented to begin with] WHY did they go ahead with impeachment on the basis of nothing? WHY allow Trump to be able to make the case that he's being persecuted? Why not wait until actual evidence... probative evidence ... is forthcoming and be able to make a case that will convince independents? Why paint themselves as rabid partisans engaged in political theater? Because with this impeachment, Trump's approval rating has actually gone UP, so this was counterproductive so far.

And what happens to YOUR case if there is more evidence forthcoming that ties Joe and Hunter Biden to money-laundering and ties Joe Biden to interference in Ukraine with an ongoing corruption investigation? Or links the former Ukrainian government (under Poroshenko) to the DNC and election-meddling in the USA in 2016?

What would independents say? Just as importantly, what would YOU say? Would you continue with the fiction that Democrats are as pure as the driven snow? Or would you finally admit that Dems, too, have a lot to answer for?

BTW... Moscow Mitch is a cheap smear, just as much as Russian Troll and collusion with Russia. NONE of those are factual or true. That CC resorts to such loaded terms ... and that you fall for them, JO ... doesn't say much for his honesty or your intellect.

Who cares? It doesn't matter.

Job approval has remained steady, support for impeachment is in the negative numbers now, and betting odds on Trump winning 2020 dwarf anybody else out there.

Don't even bother arguing with these people anymore. They're never going to face facts. Just wait until time makes asses out of them.

Pushing back against charges that Senator Mitch McConnell is a Russian asset, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, said on Tuesday that McConnell “has never been an asset to any country.”

“You can scour the four corners of the globe, and you will not find a nation that would ever in a million years consider Mitch McConnell an asset,” Putin said.

The Russian President urged pundits who have called McConnell a Russian asset “to look up the word ‘asset’ in the dictionary.”

“You will find that ‘asset’ means a useful or valuable thing,” Putin said. “The only part of that definition that fits McConnell is ‘thing.’ ”

Pressing his case further, he said that it was debatable whether McConnell was even an asset to his home state of Kentucky. “Maybe compared to Rand Paul he is, but that’s setting the bar ludicrously low,” he said.

Concluding his remarks, Putin said that people who ask, “Who does Mitch McConnell work for?” are asking the wrong question. “The question should be ‘When has Mitch McConnell ever worked?’ ” he said.

Godd*mn! Way to go Christian Today! Today's Special: Trump on a Pike. That's it in one of many nutshells, and said in such a direct way that even Trump believers can understand it.
