What Trump has actually done in his first 3 years? His scandals and bizarre behavior are a calculated distraction from his more solid "accomplishments". For example:

White-collar criminal prosecutions have hit a 33-year low. That is not because there are fewer criminals.

Tax changes were Trump’s biggest legislative accomplishment, creating a huge windfall for wealthy shareholders and small gains for the middle class — with revenue losses much larger than initially forecast.

Trump’s achievements are a reminder that Trump and his team are doing real things that have real impacts on real lives. Trump's successes explain why the conservative movement is solidly behind him, despite its considerable doubts from four years ago. It’s worth remembering there’s more to him than the Trump Show which gets most of the media’s attention: the scandals, the leaks, the outrages, and the bizarre tweets.

While you are defending Trump, Republicans both in the administration and on Capitol Hill insist that the tax cuts would pay for themselves through faster economic growth, which (predictably) hasn’t happened. What’s not as well known is that corporate tax revenue actually fell by more than anticipated in 2018 and has only marginally rebounded in 2019. In part as a result, the budget deficit has been rising faster than the Congressional Budget Office thought it would. The big issue is that the investment boom boosters promised didn't come to fruition, any more than Republicans delivered on the promise of a tax code simple enough that you can file on a postcard.

But 8 years of Trump will add another $8 trillion to the previous $21 trillion National Debt. Why complain that the Debt keeps increasing even when the economy is not in recession? The GOP is not listening and Trump is deaf. Instead, let's pointlessly talk about impeachment. We all know Trump won't be removed by the Senate, same as we know the Senate won't stop increasing the National Debt.

I'm still plodding my way though the testimony - and I mean ALL of it (or as near to all of it as the broadcast scheduling will allow) - rather than the propaganda bits and pieces people here seem to prefer. It's wonderful entertainment as I do my recipe experiments like mashed cauliflower. (I can hardly wait to defrost the rest of the batch and see how it survived the freezer! It was SO good !!)

Anyway, I've learned a LOT of things that I think were oppositely intended. One of them is that I've gotten a phenomenal look at the House democrats and their dishonesty and machinations, and ESPECIALLY their allies and compatriots in the State Department and the NSC. And nothing Trump has done compares to the mendacity and insanity of those folk - from 'the Great Game is still winnable with nukes!' Bolton, to 'I WILL live to see Russia defeated!' Vindman.

If I left anybody off from the alphabet span, I apologize for failing to properly include them in the slagging they so thoroughly deserve.

Watching has made me decide that - unless the new crop of democrats can affirmatively prove to me they are not part of this system - I will vote for 'not the democrat' in every part of the ballot.

Flies shit.

On a separate note, I think I see the US power structure that's supporting Trump in the Deep State struggle.

Wonderful kiki I see them too. If they aren't already in my sentencing thread their headed there.

Perhaps you could send some money to the prison commissaries where they now reside to help keep them in cigarettes.

Trump’s next stop in his yearlong fight to keep his finances private is the Supreme Court.

A federal appellate panel in New York on Tuesday ordered two major banks to hand over a wide range of the president’s financial records to Congress — and gave Trump a week to take his case to the highest U.S. court.

Trump’s bid for a Supreme Court review in one of those cases — in which the Manhattan District Attorney is seeking his tax records — is already scheduled to come before the justices at their private conference on Dec. 13. It’s not clear whether the court will elect to hear any or all of the cases at a time when congressional Democrats are pushing impeachment of the president.
