Just saw this. So that’s what she’s been up to, professionally? Live reads at a local theater… I know she’s got some real life stuff going on, family & what not. As long as she’s happy, that’s cool.

Fathom the hypocrisy of a government that requires every citizen to prove they are insured... but not everyone must prove they are a citizen

You couldn't make "Some like it Hot" today, the LGBTQ crowd would scream bloody murder, BUT I'm glad Jewel is keeping busy. Last I heard about her before this was she was a regular at every convention on the planet.

Saw her @ DragonCon years ago, and she was great. It was a smaller panel, off from the big rooms, and it was just nice to see her and the fans in such a causal setting.

Earlier this year I caught a movie on TV with her. It was A Frosty Affair, and I ended up watching the whole thing, I got caught at or near the start on some channel. She had to take off all her clothes in front of some guy, outdoors in winter, to prevent freezing.

IIRC, when she was pregnant and not getting any acting work, she realized that she could make a lot more money doing Cons than making occasional guest spots on tv shows.

I don't doubt she can haul in some coin, I'd pay to see her again, but more $ than actual acting work ? If that's the case, good for her. It just seems suspect.

I'm sure it takes far less time, which is a bonus for the first few years of motherhood.

”The fact is, a guest star on a TV show can [get] around $10,000, whereas you can work two days at a convention and pull in the same amount — and sometimes double and triple that," says Firefly actress Jewel Staite, who did 12 conventions last year while pregnant with her son and, as she says, "pretty much not hireable." She'll do the same when she has a second child. "Have I turned down smaller jobs that won't pay as much? Absolutely. It would be silly of me to say yes to the job that pays $10,000 for a week of work and bow out of a big convention where I could potentially walk away with $40,000 in two days.”

Thanks for the input. Good on her. Hope she makes bunches of cash.

OTOH, when convenient, it should be good to stay in the public eye on shows and films. Just for balance.

JSF - are ya looking to be her agent ?

BTW, if you've got any pull w/ her, ask nicely if she'd consider unblocking me on twitter. I'd be ever so respectful of her political views, I can almost guarantee it.
