I never saw Captain Marvel. Offscreen, Brie Larson made a complete ass of herself, and pretty much continues to do so. She is a miserable skank, and doesn’t endear herself for fans to go watch. . Even her costars don’t like her. But aside from all that, the origin story of Captain Marvel is laughable at best. A test pilot shoots a Tesseract powered engine and because of that explosion, she gets granted all these super Duper powers , making her the most powerful hero in the universe? What a load of crap. That is the Maryist of Mary Sue’s.
And now take Daisy Ridley for example. Perfectly fine off screen, doesn’t run her mouth about how awesome she is or her character. She’s a decent enough person. But Rey, the character is poorly developed and sadly is as Mary Sue as they come. She hears about the Force one day, and then is defeating the most powerful Sith trained warrior , while having never held a freaking light saber.
If we’re talking about movies, then no, one doesn’t need to have seen them to understand the basic story. A bad movie is a bad movie because the story doesn’t make sense or is poorly told. All the CG and audiovisual mastery in the world can’t save a crap story.

i agree...just rewatched it last week...by far a better movie than the balance of the trilogies work. only major complaint..that I think everyone has...they had so much budget and capability...and to do such a crummy job on Leah's avatar there at the last 2 seconds of the movie...gawd that was bad!!

I agree. Animated princess Leia in rogue one was laughable. I think that something they can retouch and improve on because it was so brief, I just don’t know why they half assed it when the movie released.
