The guys who screwed up the final season of Game of Thrones are out at Lucasfilm, good. The bad news is STAR WARS will now likely go the way of Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon. The fandom just wants Jar Jar Abrams to drag episode 9 across the finish line so we can then forget about the last three films and pretend they never happed.

Well at least they gave us Rogue One in 2016. That one movie redeemed them for all their past mistakes.

I've already been pretending for 2 decades that the prequel trilogy didn't exist, and I'm never even going to bother seeing any of these new ones for free on KODI, so that should be pretty easy to ignore.
lol... I even watched Ghostbusters 2016 out of morbid, and I refuse to watch any of these.

I liked Rogue One. I thought it tied in nicely with the original three.

A bunch of unimportant characters doing something we already knew about? Nah that movie was pretty garbage IMO. Disney hasn't made a single good Star Wars project yet as far as I can tell. They really screwed up by throwing out the expanded universe. They have a whole set of content that the fans already liked and they thought they could do better.
Sadly all the rumors sound like they haven't figured anything out yet. An obiwan series? Who wants to watch some old dude creeping on a kid? How to catch a Star Wars predator is not a series I want to see. They're talking about a Kylo Ren prequel of some sort. Great now you're going to try to explain why that character was supposed to have been interesting? They literally can't get Carrie Fisher back and I doubt Harrison Ford will touch that. Maybe they can get Mark Hamill but I'm not sure about that either.
Disney needs to move the story forward and give fans what they actually want. Establish a jedi academy. Have a lot more jedi running around so that we can actually get some epic stories going. They need enough characters to pull off something more like the MCU where they can mix and match characters and add keep people interested. It doesn't look like they're capable of that right now. They just keep going backwards in time trying to cash in on nostalgia.

The funniest yet most pathetic scene from the last trailer was the cavalry of space horses, running along the hull of a Star Destroyer, into battle against... what, exactly ?
You're literally ON the outside of an enemy ship, in an armada of Star Destroyers!! How many ? From where were they all hiding ? Who is manning these ships ? Supplying them all ?
Doesn't matter, because it's the SHOT that matters most ! And running space horsies is what little girls want mostests !!!
*ETA
More leaks come out as this catastrophe approaches release.
C-3PO basically dies . His memory gets mind erased, as he's tasked to do something outside of his protocol droid duties. Which make me think... in a 'verse where you can't swing a stick around w/ out hitting some sort of droid or robot, yet C-3PO is the ONLY available piece of equipment they need to complete some sort of task, or everyone dies ? Makes about as much sense as that tug boat speed space armada battle which we saw in TLJ.
Everyone else dies too . The remainder of the original SW cast all go out in a blaze of glory. Chewie and Landau, flying the Millennium Falcon, are obliterated as the last vestiges of old Star Wars is sent to the graveyard, never to be heard from again.
R2D2 - Assuming he's NOT on the Falcon as it gets blown up, which would make sense, look for him to revert back to being a lifeless lamp stand in some dive bar or end up in a museum. Passers by will hardly notice him, or the placard which gives a brief description of this brave little droids adventures and the part he played in taking down Palpatine, the first time, and the fall of the Galactic Empire.

IDK, it put a face on those unimportant characters which we previously had just one line about in the previous movies.
We knew what happened in Titanic, yet that was a decent flick.
Same for just about every WW2 movie. We know how that ended, but most movies were pretty decent. ( OK, I didn't bother w/ Pearl Harbor , but Saving Private Ryan was solid )

Who cares?
Any Star Wars garbage that happened outside of the original trilogy didn't happen. There were only 3 Star Wars movies.

Doomcock said more than once that these were rumors, BUT if true Kathleen Kennedys days at Lucasfilm are numbered. Someone will have to take the fall for this.
