Trump is not a sociopath or a narcissist, he has ADHD. Get over it.

REALLY???
How about ... spending a trillion dollars and killing a million people in a pointless war?
Or what about ... throwing trillions of dollars at banks while putting victims of fraudulent loans out on the street?
That's just faux outrage on your part. Obviously you lack (a)imagination (b)knowledge of recent history and (c)a sense of proportion.
I checked to see which branch of government has exclusive power to declare War. It is Congress, not the President. War is too big a decision to allow the President to make that decision. The decision always requires a vote in Congress, assuming that Congress is actually following the Constitution. But the voters don't insist that Congress make the decision. The last time Congress declared war was WWII. The voters have never removed a Congressman for allowing the President to make the decision. Maybe the voters don't know they can?

As for the other Signym outrage "Or what about ... throwing trillions of dollars at banks while putting victims of fraudulent loans out on the street?" That is Congress, not the President. If Congress made the wrong decision in Signym's opinion (or the President made the wrong decision in Signym's opinion because Congress would not make the decision), then Signym should vote for a different Congressman. (I voted to get rid of all 3 Republican Congressmen assigned to Baytown, where I live.) Unfortunately, Signym cannot fire all 535 Congressmen, but Signym can vote to remove the two Senators and one Representative assigned to Signym's Congressional district.

noun: corruption; plural noun: corruptions
1. dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery.
2. the process by which something, typically a word or expression, is changed from its original use or meaning to one that is regarded as erroneous or debased.
Signym, I don't see how to jump between the idea of wrongfully going to war and the idea of bribery, unless Trump is being bribed to go to War. Or bribed to NOT go to War. In that last case, you could say that Trump corruptly did not stop Turkey going to War against the Kurds because the President of Turkey threatened to confiscate Trump Towers Istanbul. That would be a corrupt act by Trump. And Trump's ADHD is not involved, but Trump's greed is.

The decision has virtually no political or strategic benefits, which begs the question: was the president motivated by something other than the US's national interests when he retreated from Syria? Maybe it was Trump's ADHD? Probably not: See the article to read about Trump's myriad business and financial ties to Turkey.

The president has described Trump Towers Istanbul as "a little conflict of interest" in his dealings with Turkey.
Indeed, Erdogan has used the building to apply pressure on the president. Responding to Trump's proposed Muslim travel ban in 2016, for example, Erdogan called for the president's name to be taken off Trump Towers.
This pressure eased after Trump expressed support for Erdogan's wide-ranging crackdown against political opponents followed a failed coup in 2016, The Wall Street Journal reported.
Istanbul photographs will exacerbate concerns that the Trump family's Turkish business interests are influencing White House policy. The president has consistently refused to divest himself from his businesses, in violation of the Constitution's emoluments clause.
The president and his family have consistently used Trump's position to enrich their personal enterprises. Foreign governments, the secret service and even the U.S. military have all racked up huge bills at the president's properties since Trump took office.
Trump's Syria retreat gave Turkish forces the green light to advance into Syria, though the White House has consistently denied giving Erdogan implicit permission to do so.
The operation has killed hundreds, driven thousands from their homes, facilitated the escape of ISIS prisoners and forced the Kurdish-led forces to ally with the Russia- and Iran-backed Syrian government army.

WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO ABOUT HIM?? In between fixing the fence, running to Walmart, mowing the lawn....What am I realistically supposed to do about him??
I have people to take care of. Some don't even live with me. I would LOVE to drop everything and protest 24/7/365, but unless we win the lotto....NOT GONNA HAPPEN.
Ok. let me put this in a way even 6ix can understand. I'll use small words.
You live illegally IN California. You have family who lives in Mexico.
Prez in America says "Mexicans are rapists, we build big wall in one year or so, keep any more from coming into our country" You living in California think, "Oh, I may not see my family from Mexico for a very long time if ever....maybe I have them come NOW, before they build big wall. And hey, Prez is asshole, let's have them ALL COME, say F.U. to asshole Prez"

Now if Trump had shut the hell up about "rapists" and worked with local governments or had worked up some logical reasons to build walls, maybe checked crime rates and said... "Migrants are causing X problem in this area, we need to build a wall here and here" It would have been a footnote at the bottom of the news. No one would have cared.
It's just like his Visa policies...Him screaming about "shithole countries" and using ZERO FUCKING DATA to justify travel bans from certain countries is why he keeps getting overruled. HE NEVER FUCKING LEARNS.
If you want something done as a politician you have to have DATA to support your position and you have to be a negotiator.
Raging about like a drunken hippo just pisses off EVERYONE, or it least it should in people that have a brain.
Why are you not ticked off again??

Here's a thought. You seem to have plenty of time to post bat-shit-crazy posts in the middle of the night, that I'm pretty sure you're hiding from kiddo, about killing "all but 100" people on the planet to "save" them from ... something, but probably your own personal bogeyman.
Why not use that time to learn something new instead of steeping even more in your own bile?
Yanno, there are a lot of people who have suffered more than you. People who have experienced more, and different, from you. People who know more than you. People who have thought more than you. People who are smarter than you. And so on. And they post all over the internet.
You have the internet at your fingertips with all its wisdom and folly to learn from.
Why not learn something about your world and what the people in it have to teach you? Unless, of course, you know for a fact you're the smartest, most experienced, most knowledgeable, and wisest person ever. In which case ... never mind. Carry on.

Just this thread I taught you people that ADHD is a SYMPTOM more than it is a disorder on its OWN. You know why??? Neuro disorders almost ALWAYS affect multiple behaviors and functions because the brain is interconnected with OTHER functions in other regions. AFA Trump is concerned ... you DO know that his travel ban was upheld by the highest court in the land, did you not? I mean, it doesn't take a genius to look at the globe and think ... Syria ... jihadist-ridden clusterfuck ... Sudan ... Yemen... Libya.. Somalia... jeez, these countries can't even issue reliable passports, and watching the problems that the EU was having with terrorist attacks it seems like a no-brainer to insist on better ID verification. Also, Trump is doing things in the background that you apaprently don't know about; among other things he's shut off the CIA flow of money to our jihadist proxies in the Mideast.
As for the wall ... apparently the people were coming because they heard a wall was being built and they wanted to squeeze in under the wire. Had nothing to do with being pissed off. So what did Congress do? Pander to a bunch of illegals? Why?
A wall should be built. Illegals shouldn't be allowed to enter OR to stay. I'm glad Trump did some out-of-the-box thinking and put pressure on Mexico; the fact that Mexico DID manage to stem the tide just shows how little effort they were putting in in the first place, and how happpy they were to just pass along their poor along with everyone else's. They've been taking advantage of the USA for years.

ADHD? Or GREED?
The federal Standards of Conduct regulation issued by the Office of Government Ethics in 1992 says that “employees shall not use public office for private gain,” although these rules do not apply to the president. The president and vice president are exempt only because Congress cannot pass restrictions that apply to them since when he has a financial conflict of interest, the president cannot recuse himself and delegate his constitutional powers to someone else.
To prevent financial conflict of interest, every president over the past four decades — with the exception of Mr. Trump — has placed his personal investments and assets in a blind trust while in the White House, or has sold everything and held cash equivalents, to avoid any potential conflicts.
Three different lawsuits are pending in federal court that are testing if Mr. Trump is violating the Constitution’s emoluments clauses by continuing to own, through a trust, the collection of hotels, golf courses and resorts that take payments from foreign government officials and the United States government.
“He is certainly digging deeper in his failing defense by violating the Constitution in plain sight, in real time,” said Senator Richard Blumenthal, Democrat of Connecticut, who is the lead plaintiff in the lawsuit that involves more than 200 House and Senate Democrats. “It is really absolutely striking.”
(Why would G7 world leaders want to meet in Aspen, say, when they can hold their June meeting at Trump’s low-occupancy resort in Miami? Experience the heat! The humidity! Mosquitoes the size of hummingbirds!)
“Trump’s Choice to Bring G7 to His Own Resort Would Violate Conflict-of-Interest Law, if He Weren’t President”

ADHD? Or VANITY?
A very telling example of how Trump seeks vainglory for himself. Trump wants, but can't have, Mars during his Presidency. Imagine Kennedy proposing that the US "should commit itself to achieving the goal, before my term in office is out, of landing my brand on the Moon."
Trump Offers NASA Unlimited Money to Land on Mars during His Term
By Guilherme Assis | Jan 24 2019
The president apparently offered “all the money they could ever need”. Source: NY Mag
Recent reports indicate that president Donald Trump has offered NASA “all the money you could ever need” to land on the planet Mars. The report was carried by the New York Magazine and it cites an upcoming memoir by a former White House communication official Cliff Sims as the source. The memoir added that there was an increasing fascination from the president to send humans to Mars. It’s said that Trump offered to do whatever he could in his capacity as president to aid astronauts in their goal.
During a dining room private meeting between him and NASA officials, the president sought to know how feasible it is at the moment to land on Mars. It’s understood that the astronauts at the meeting remained optimistic about the possibility of achieving this but the timeline was far down the line than expected. The astronauts said that even though there was significant progress towards this goal, 2030 remained the earliest estimate to get this done. The president, however, wasn’t really upbeat about this. In fact, during the meeting he inquired whether it was possible for NASA to actually do this before the end of his first term.
Source: Daily Mail
According to the memoirs by Sims, the moment that question went out, there was an uneasy atmosphere in the air. As for NASA’s timetable, there was still a decade to go before there was any real chance to have humans land on Mars but here was the president asking the space agency to shave off an entire decade from its plan.
But it didn’t end there. Even after the astronauts tried to explain that it would take time to get the job done, the president asked if the timelines could be a little bit quicker if there was more money coming NASA’s way. Sims says in the memoirs that the President asked: “What if I give all the money you could ever need to do it?” “What if we sent NASA’s budget off the roof, the president continued to ask.”
The answer that came after that was not convincing enough for the president either. As the astronauts tried to explain the massive logistics that would be involved in getting humans in Mars, Trump just looked on “visibly disappointed.” These events happened as the president was getting ready for a televised phone call into the Space Station. This was actually a very important event and Sims says that the president was totally distracted after the conversation with NASA.
Trump was visibly disappointed that NASA couldn’t speed up the process. Source: Daily Kos

HEY WISHY! Do you want to school SECONDRATE on ADHD, or should I?
Oh, what the hell, you'd probably fuck it up anyway ...
*****
SLOPPY .... I used to babysit, and I sat kids who had ADHD. One used to scream at top top of his lungs YANNO WHAT? YANNO WHAT?? until someome paid attention. His parents used to say he was innoculated with a phonograph needle; this was in the days before ADHD was even recognized ... altho Dennis the Menace was a pretty good archetype, and The Ransom of Red Chief was a spot-on-description written in 1907, proving that ADHD existed even then ...
And the other used to scream LOOKIT THIS! LOOKIT THIS! usually before attempting something daring (jumping off the roof), which was multiple times a day.
Then there were the two girls who needed CONSTANT minding otherwise they would dream up something very active to do, like literally bouncing off the walls or rolling down the stairs or dragging in the (running) garden hose to wash the kitchen floor.
Point being, many people with ADHD crave attention. As they grow up they leanr that uncontrolled impulses have consequences, but the desire for attention and existing in a beehive of activity remains. Another oddball observation is that many people ADHD can hyperfocus on specific activities if they're interested, leading to impressive results.
One of my relatives has assessed herself as being somewhat ADHD ... when choosing between surgery and ER medicine as a speciaalization she picked ER medicine because everything was faster and didn't require hours and hours of sustained attention. Her brother (also ADHD) choose physical medicine as his profession because it gave an outlet for his need for motion.
ADHD is as ADHD does. In the right circumstances it can even be an asset. It's not a problem unless it becomes one.

ADHD? Or BALONEY?
Trump said, “You read where we’re sending some troops to Saudi Arabia. That’s true. Because we want to help Saudi Arabia. They have been a very good ally. They’ve agreed to pay for the cost of those troops. They’ve agreed to pay fully for the cost of everything we’re doing over there. . . . Saudi Arabia is paying for 100 percent of the cost, including the cost of our soldiers. And that negotiation took a very short time — like, maybe, about 35 seconds.”
Notice that Trump claims he negotiated this deal in a “very short time — like, maybe, about 35 seconds.” In previous White Houses we have covered, such a stunning act of negotiation would be accompanied by readouts by presidential aides, eager to explain how such a coup came about.
But, in this case, just crickets from the White House, except for the bragging by the president himself. White House officials would not explain what Trump meant.
Nor would Defense officials or State officials. The Saudis declined comment too. So what’s up?
The answer is obvious, of course: the Saudis aren’t paying for 100 percent of our troop deployment. Trump is just making this up. Any other questions?

Trump says being president has cost him $2 billion to $5 billion
“Whether I lost $2 billion, $5 billion or less, it doesn’t make any difference. I don’t care,” Trump said. “I’m doing this for the country. I’m doing it for the people.”
Trump said this because he is being accused of taking bribes (“this phony emoluments clause,” a line in the U.S. Constitution). He explains that he doesn't want bribes. He despises money, throwing his own money away by the $billions so that he may serve Signym.

If Trump made his tax returns available for the years he is President, I'd be able to confirm his figure of $2 billion to $5 billion. But Trump made nothing available, although he promised he would. Every other President made their tax returns available. www.taxnotes.com/presidential-tax-returns
Obama's first year in office shows an income of $5,623,690. I don't think we will be able to confirm that Trump's income dropped by more than a $billion per year, not unless Congress takes Trump's tax case all the way to the Supreme Court.

During the campaign, then-candidate Donald Trump suggested that, should he win, he might become one of the most "boring" presidents in history. A curious pledge, but at least Trump recognized the crucial difference between running for office and running the country.
Imagine, if you will, the consequences if Trump had embraced this pivotal distinction. He need not have jettisoned his policy preferences. He could have still favored lower taxes, fewer regulations, tighter immigration controls, tougher trade policies against China and more pressure on our NATO allies to raise military spending. These views are not wildly outside the political mainstream.
Following this mostly traditional path, Trump might have boosted his popularity, especially given the strong economy. Even fierce critics might have conceded that, in practice, the "boring" Trump wasn't so bad.
But that is not the path Trump chose. In many ways, President Trump has been more gratuitously offensive than candidate Trump. Worse, Trump appeals to his supporters’ basest human instincts. He regularly uses immigration to stir racial and ethnic tensions.
Most of his policies are collapsing. He has made no progress in limiting North Korea’s nuclear arsenal. His withdrawal from the nuclear arms agreement with Tehran seems to have emboldened the Iranians to a more violent role in the Middle East. Watching this, many Israelis wonder whether the United States would come to their aid if they were attacked by Iran or one of its proxies, according to news reports. His trade negotiations with China have fallen short, despite high tariffs imposed by both countries.
Now Trump has descended to new levels of recklessness with his behavior involving Ukraine and Syria. The lesson of the Syrian debacle is that Trump is increasingly impervious to outside evidence and influence. Reflecting his background as a reality-TV star, he aims to dominate the daily news cycle every day. This means he constantly needs new and more incendiary material. He incites his “base,” because he’s good at it and enjoys it. His base is entertained by the most theatrical and least boring President in history.

Trump’s reaction to being gently corrected by a female astronaut on board the space station: Trump Flips Off Female Astronaut
This is the moment Donald Trump used his middle finger to fix his hair after making a factual error while making a call to the International Space Station.
Twice during his statement, the President mistakenly referred to NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Christina Koch as the first women ever to complete a spacewalk. In fact, the two women were the first ever to complete an all-female spacewalk.
After the astronauts corrected Donald Trump, he began to correct his hair using his middle finger. Was it an innocent coincidence or is the President an asshole?

By mid-July it was becoming clear to me that the meeting President Zelenskyy wanted was conditioned on the investigations of Burisma which Britain had been investigating but dropped due to lack of cooperation from Ukraine and alleged Ukrainian interference in the 2016 U.S. elections. If the US is looking into investigating if Ukraine had interfered with the elections (and there's plenty of evidence they interfered at a minimum with the Trump WH), asking for an investigation would have been a completely legitimate request. Also, there was no mention of either Biden.
In the same July 19 phone call, they gave me an account of the July 10 meeting with the Ukrainian officials at the White House. Specifically, they told me that Ambassador Sondland had connected “investigations” with an Oval Office meeting for President Zelenskyy, which so irritated Ambassador Bolton that he abruptly ended the meeting ... Dr. Hill said that Ambassador Bolton referred to this as a “drug deal” after the July 10 meeting. It's pretty obvious Bolton was the 'source' for the CIA operative's 'whistleblower' complaint. It's also pretty obvious Bolton wanted to conduct his own policies.
On July 25, President Trump and President Zelenskyy had the long-awaited phone conversation. We've all seen what is as close to a transcript as possible given how the process operates, and it's a big nothing-burger.
During a previously planned July 26 meeting, President Zelenskyy told Ambassador Volker and me that he was happy with the call but did not elaborate.
On August 16, I exchanged text messages with Ambassador Volker in which I learned that Mr. Yeriak had asked that the United States submit an official request for an investigation into Burisma’s alleged violations of Ukrainian law, if that is what the United States desired.
BTW, an entire 17 pages and not a single mention of either Biden.

Definitely not ADHD:
"He read my phone call with the President of Ukraine," Trump said at the time. "Mitch McConnell, he said, 'That was the most innocent phone call that I've read.' I mean, give me a break. Anybody that reads it says the same thing."
McConnell, asked at his weekly news conference in the Capitol if he believed the President handled the Ukrainian situation perfectly, said, "We've not had any conversations on that subject."
When pushed on whether Trump was lying about an exchange between the pair, the Kentucky Republican responded, "You have to ask him. I don't recall any conversations with the President about that phone call."
McConnell's staff has declined to verify if Trump's claims were valid.

People take a position in Congress, they stubbornly hold it despite evidence they need to change, voters keep returning the same people to Congress every two years, and they cause Congress to malfunction. Maybe voters have ADHD?

If Republicans and Trump and Signym want to keep on pretending that the following didn’t happen, I suppose there’s no way to make them stop. Maybe they have ADHD? But obviously it happened. The evidence is overwhelming:
Bill Taylor, our ambassador to Ukraine—i.e., our actual ambassador, not one of the many hangers-on who screwed around there like callow children—testified before Congress that, hell yes, President Trump held up aid to Ukraine until they agreed to investigate Joe Biden’s son:
In a 15-page opening statement, obtained by The Washington Post, Taylor repeatedly expressed his shock and bewilderment as he watched U.S. policy toward Ukraine get overtaken by Trump’s demand that newly elected president Volodymyr Zelensky “go to a microphone and say he is opening investigations of [Democratic presidential candidate Joe] Biden and 2016 election interference.”
“ ‘Everything’ was dependent on such an announcement, including security assistance,” Taylor said he was told by Gordon Sondland, U.S. ambassador to the European Union.

Quote:If everything is a debate, as it now is in Congress, nothing gets done when there are multiple contradictory views, except for the sneaky things suggested by lobbyists. Once upon a time, Congressmen would trade favors between the states to get things done. If you vote for this bill benefiting Texas, I will vote for the bill benefiting California. But horsetrading has completely fallen out of favor. Now the only exchange between Congressmen from different states is words, not money. Before the Civil War, Congress fell into the same habit of today, talk-talk-talk followed by more talk. That ended with a war. I think the exchange of money between states is the better idea, an idea that worked fairly well for 100 years after the Civil War.

There is a third way, other than money or endless talk: One political party achieves a crushing majority in Congress. The Democrats got crushed by the Civil War. The GOP got crushed thanks to Herbert Hoover. Maybe the GOP will get crushed thanks to Trump. But it will only be temporary because the worst Trump could do is not as damaging as Hoover and the GOP controlled Congress's non-performance during the Great Depression.

[/snark] His bio just screams "deep state" and "regime change maestro" and I believe that he would have extreme policy differences with Trump about Ukraine, and would want to push HIS policy thru at any cost.
*****
Our national security demands that this relationship [with Ukraine] remains strong Oh, gag me with a spoon. Our national security does NOT depend on some corrupt backwater eastern European nation!
Having read the statement closely, it is clear to me that Taylor has NO FIRSTHAND KNOWLEDGE of the events he's testyfying about ("quid pro quo"). For example, there's a big buildup about a mysterious phone conversation with Zelinskiy and yet, when you read Taylor's summary of the content (energy policy and the Stanystya-Lhanska bridge) it turns out to be a nothing-burger.
As I read further, I see that he wasn't in on any of the meetings and that what he is transmitting is "hearsay" ... what has been told to him.
Other parts of his statement contain such shocking untruths ("more Ukrainians would undoubtedly die without the U.S. assistance" when it is the US assistance that is allowing Kiev to kill civilians in eastern Ukrainian) that I have to conclude that Taylor is a either a bald-faced liar or so biased that reality doesn't sink in.
The person who seems to be the source of most of Taylor's information is Sondland, either directly or via Morrison. So swim upstream to the source, I say.

President Trump on Wednesday excoriated so-called Never Trump Republicans as "human scum" as he seeks to solidify Republican support of him amid an ongoing impeachment inquiry.
"The Never Trumper Republicans, though on respirators with not many left, are in certain ways worse and more dangerous for our Country than the Do Nothing Democrats," Trump tweeted. "Watch out for them, they are human scum!"
It's unclear what led president to target Republicans who are critical of him. Perhaps ADHD? Perhaps STUPIDITY? But for whatever reason, Trump ought to take the criticism seriously and change his ways.

Trump’s ‘lynching’ comparison shows there’s no bottom to his sense of victimhood
President Trump apparently fears an impeachment could be so destructive to his presidency that he has frequently described it in terms of an epic injustice, taking that habit to a new level Tuesday by calling the impeachment efforts a “lynching.” And in doing so, the president has solidified the perception that he is completely insensitive to the United States’ history of racism and violence.
“So some day, if a Democrat becomes President and the Republicans win the House, even by a tiny margin, they can impeach the President, without due process or fairness or any legal rights,” he tweeted Tuesday. “All Republicans must remember what they are witnessing here — a lynching. But we will WIN!”
As the impeachment inquiry in the House barrels forward, his embrace of victimhood grows more pronounced.
Trump’s continued use of language that many black Americans find offensive is not because of ignorance. It is because to Trump, no one has endured more injustice than him.

Since a one-point movement, up or down, in an e-mini contract is worth $50, a 47-point movement up in a day was worth $2,350 per contract. If you were the lucky one who bought the 82,000 e-mini contracts, well, then you were sitting on a one-day profit of roughly $190 million.

Whether Conway is right or wrong is a matter of legal opinion, but given how fishy and coincidental the trading in e-minis seems to be these days, the SEC or CFTC would be doing a great service (and their job) for the American people by investigating who is behind these lucrative trades, and what they knew before they placed them. Trump’s lawyer just told a federal appeals court that a sitting president is above the law.
President Trump’s lawyer argued in court on Wednesday that he should, as president, be immune from criminal prosecution — even if he murders someone in broad daylight with a gun.
The argument was made as part of Trump v. Vance, a case asking whether Manhattan prosecutors can subpoena Trump’s tax records as part of an ongoing criminal investigation. In the case, as Judge Victor Marrero explained in an opinion, Trump’s lawyers argued that “the person who serves as President, while in office, enjoys absolute immunity from criminal process of any kind.” (Marrero rejected that argument.)
On Wednesday, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit heard Trump’s appeal of Marrero’s decision. During that hearing, Trump lawyer William Consovoy confirmed just how far his argument goes. In response to a question by appellate Judge Denny Chin, Consovoy argued that Trump is immune from criminal investigation even if he were to shoot someone on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue. Trump's lawyers did not use the example of stock market manipulation, but when the case goes to the Supreme Court, that would be an excellent example to persuade the Justices of how wonderful Trump is! Blame ADHD, rather than GREED!

"Inside Trump's First Pentagon Briefing"
What I saw there that foretold today's foreign policy crises.
The clash came in the middle of Trump’s first Pentagon briefing on America’s military and diplomatic “laydown”—a term of art used to describe all of the locations around the world with U.S. forces and embassies—on July 20, 2017. Mattis, for whom I was working as chief speechwriter, had hoped the briefing would educate Trump on the United States’ longstanding commitment to the rest of the world. That is not at all what happened.
Instead, the president burst out in the middle of the meeting.
“I just returned from France,” he said. “Did you see President Macron’s handshake?” he asked no one in particular. “He wouldn’t let go. He just kept holding on. I spent two hours at Bastille Day. Very impressive.”
A pause.
“I want a ‘Victory Day.’ Just like Veterans Day. The Fourth of July is too hot,” he said, apparently out of nowhere. “I want vehicles and tanks on Main Street. On Pennsylvania Avenue, from the Capitol to the White House. We need spirit! We should blow everybody away with this parade. The French had an amazing parade on Bastille Day with tanks and everything. Why can’t we do that?”
Those of us in the control room linked to the Pentagon conference room shifted uncomfortably, shooting glances at each other. Where was this going? We’d opened the control room door 30 minutes before to improve air flow. A Secret Service agent poked his head in, apparently uncomfortable with the conversation and the light it cast on the president. “Hey,” he asked, “do you guys need to still be in here?”

"Inside Trump's First Pentagon Briefing"
What I saw there that foretold today's foreign policy crises.
Trump veered from topic to topic — Syria, Mexico, a recent Washington Post story he didn’t like — like a squirrel caught in traffic, dashing one way and then another.
The issues were complicated, yet all of the president’s answers were simplistic and ad hoc. He was shooting from the hip on issues of global importance.
With that, the meeting ended.
I learned an important lesson that would pay off when Trump returned for a briefing the following January: only use slides with pictures … no words.

Trump could shoot someone, and police couldn’t investigate it, his lawyer says
President Trump famously said during the 2016 campaign that he could shoot somebody on 5th Avenue in New York, and he wouldn’t lose any voters.
Apparently, if his lawyer is to be believed, he wouldn’t go to jail, either.
William Consovoy, while arguing against a subpoena of the Trump’s tax returns on Wednesday in the U.S. Second Circuit Court of Appeals in New York, made the case that immunity for the president extends to the entire criminal justice process. If the lawyer got this idea from Trump, that would explain most of Trump's odd behavior toward the media, which believes a President is NOT immune. The President and the media have completely conflicting views of the Presidency.

The other major political story this fall relates to Trump’s precipitous abandonment of America’s Kurdish allies in Syria, part of a deal the president struck with Turkey that does not appear to have any upside for the United States. Both Democrats and Republicans in Congress criticized this move, the military was against it, Israel was alarmed, and basically nobody can say exactly why this happened.
According to a “news analysis” story by David Sanger in the New York Times, “Trump Followed His Gut on Syria,” and the disastrous fallout just represents a failure to think things through.
That’s certainly possible. Trump is impulsive, and sometimes he does things rashly for no real reason. But one lesson of the Ukraine story is to remind us that Trump is also a pretty wily character who is perfectly capable of forming and executing fairly elaborate plans in secret. We also learned that neither Trump nor his inner circle respects the distinction between a diplomatic deal that aims to advance American interests and a deal that aims to advance Trump’s personal interests.
Given that his arrangement with Turkey had no clear upside for the United States, it’s natural to ask whether it had upside for Trump personally. Sanger reported, citing “the generous description of a senior American diplomat,” that the decision sprung from an “off-script moment” during a call between Trump and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
But rather than take an anonymous source’s word for it, Congress ought to investigate — demanding testimony from officials who work on Syria policy and access to the White House record of the call.

It was not a coincidence that all three were loud Trump lovers. What Donald Trump’s Flimsy Handle on American History Means
“I don’t know if you knew it, but he actually ran his business simultaneously when he was president,” Trump said. “George Washington was actually considered a very rich man at the time… George Washington, they say, had two desks. He had a presidential desk and a business desk.”
It seems Trump was trying to say that even George Washington, one of the closest things the American republic has to a secular saint, was more corrupt than Trump, who made a big show of handing off his businesses to his sons. Unlike him, Trump implied, George Washington was still formally doing business while serving as president — and employing an elaborate eighteenth-century ritual to appear to keep his duties as the president separate from his work as a plantation owner. Maintaining two desks, Trump seemed to think — and was likely told — had been Washington’s sly workaround.
Almost immediately after Trump shared his insights, Mount Vernon, Washington’s estate, was forced to issue a statement. It was true that Washington was one of the country’s wealthiest men: He oversaw a prosperous agricultural estate, worked by 300 enslaved people. And when he became president, he did not sell off the plantation. Instead, he entrusted his nephew to run it in his absence and stayed as closely involved as he could, demanding reports from his overseers. But that bit about the desks? Well, the Mount Vernon people weren’t sure what the current president was talking about.
“There are two desks that I know of associated with George Washington’s presidency,” Mount Vernon’s research historian, Mary Thompson, said in the statement. “The first has been known as Washington’s presidential desk. I do not know where it is now.” Evidently, Washington had a second desk made for him as he was preparing to hand over the presidency, a desk that was specifically intended for use at Mount Vernon. It was not a “business desk,” nor was it used simultaneously with what Trump called the “presidential desk.” What’s more, Thompson speculated that the floor plan in the Philadelphia house occupied by President Washington for most of his tenure probably couldn’t accommodate two desks anyway: “I am not aware of Washington having had two desks in the study in the presidential mansion, which was a fairly small room.”
It is a remarkable thing to have watched over the past three years. Trump, a deeply and proudly ignorant man, is also the world’s most excitable yet solipsistic student, completely sure that whatever piece of historic arcana that he’s come across is unknown to most of humankind. Just recall his “discovery” of Frederick Douglass, who, Trump noted, “is being recognized more and more.”
The historical fact he discovers is often not new, not a fact — it was clear from Trump’s comments about Douglass that he mistakenly thought the abolitionist was still alive — and is predictably warped to serve his own political interests.

Would somebody like to look up Second's posts where he claimed outright that he fired people because of their political beliefs. There are quite a few more than just one out there, assuming he hasn't deleted or re-worded them, but I'm sure that one of us quoted him after the fact.
I can't be bothered since Second is a piece of human garbage and I don't have time for any of his bullshit, but it would be hilarious to put those posts together so we could all laugh at him getting caught in another lie.

I also know these people are crooks. They were crooks 40 years ago and they have the misfortunes in life that crooked people have: divorce, bankruptcy, fired from jobs, lawsuits that either they start or others start against them, cars repossessed, gluttony, alcoholism, suicide, drug-addiction, the whole shebang. I find their opinions on politics and news events completely predictable.
