Yeah, I know Trumps fake economy isn't doing so well. Stores closing all over. No one wants to do business with a country that has a nut job douche bag for a fake Prez...

Oh, and I just told the kid that you hate the phrase "Mainstream media" and asked her to use the phrase after I die and she said "no problem, he sounds pretty pathetic"

It's GREAT that you don't breed

What is pathetic is that you think about me so much that you tell your husband and daughter about me. It's kind of creepy how obsessed with me you have become over the years.

I'd love to tell you that my family knows who you are, but they've never heard of you.

If the conclusion of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election was murky — with its finding of insufficient evidence that Trump's campaign directly coordinated with Russian officials to influence the outcome — the latest revelations about Trump's communication with Ukraine are burdened by no such ambiguity.

That Trump himself is now on record as asking for election help — albeit from Russia’s bitter adversary, Ukraine — is a plot line almost too perfect to have been made up. “It’s hard to imagine a more serious set of allegations than those contained in the complaint,” Adam Schiff told reporters after the hearing, noting that the president’s actions involved numerous potential offenses, criminal or otherwise.

"There can be no claim of ignorance this time," Schiff told reporters after his committee heard three hours of testimony from acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire. That is, of course, because the White House's own summary of Trump's July 25 phone call with President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine has Trump directly asking for the "favor" of looking into Hunter Biden's business dealings there, in implicit exchange for hundreds of millions of dollars in American military aid to Ukraine.

Half of the country doesn't see it that way.

And there is a GOP run Senate.

And Trump has outraised all Democrat candidates combined.

And since the day Pelosi made a statement about impeachment, Trump has raised nearly 4 times as much as Democrats have raised for the election.

This isn't going anywhere either.

Queue up the tax bullshit. Need something else to fill the news cycle once this one falls down the memory hole.

You forget that half the country is below average. The scandals about the Panama Papers, where rich Americans are paying $500 billion less per year than is owed? That is forgotten by those below average. These people who forget, "falls down the memory hole", are the people in the bottom half. The people up in the top 1% don't forget. They don't need to be reminded. That's how they got up there. If you want to get up there, 6ixStringJack, you need to remember rather than pushing your erase button every ten seconds.

Trump voters were in the habit of hitting "delete" long before Trump came along. That habit has materially damaged them. Everybody has taken advantage of their short memories, including bosses and banks and politicians, which made it easy for Trump to also take advantage of them by promising to "fix" the system. He didn't because the only real fix is to stop forgetting, which is something you, and only you, have all the control in the world.

SIX, everybody assumes that Senate Rebublicans are going to stand shoulder to shoulder ith Trump but the reality is that there are a quite a few Senate GOP who're full-on neocon apparatchiks like Lindsey Graham, Bob Corker, and Marco Rubio and/or who're deep friends with Israel and/or who would be sharpening their knives for a Presidential run (and would be more successful running against Pence) that Trump may not have all of the support that everyone thinks. Most of the GOP have left Trump twisting in the wind thru this whole RUSSIA!RUSSIA! hoax for example. Their spport of Trump has been pretty lukewarm.

As I understand it, the Senate needs 67 votes to remove Trump from office and there are an automatic 49 Democratic votes already, which means that 18 GOPers need to cross the line. According to people who count such things, there are already 15 Republican Senators who might be willing to vote for removal.

Hubby and I talk about the mess that is Trump's foreign policy, and one of the things that may be preventing Trump from withdrawing our troops from the Mideast as promised is that he has to keep one eye on those Senate warhawks/neocons and keep them satsified. I'm sure that Democrats don't care since they have long ago given up the mantle of being anti-war and are now just bought-and-paid for globalist shills, but in a way their constant haranguing of Trump over bullshit hoaxes like RUSSIA!RUSSIA! may be what's keeping our mideast wars alive.

Tom Luongo has opined that the reason WHY the Democrats have uncorked impeachment is because they know for a fact that Trump would win 2020 because their candidates suck, and that the only way they could win in 2020 is to remove Trump from office. Imagine Pence running against Warren.

IF Trump is removed from office there won't be a "revolution" but there will probably be extremely low voter turnout, and a Democrat will be elected with the lowest percentage of the general population ever as "no party affiliation" an disaffected voters stay home in droves.

Moon of Alabama
On The Motives Behind Whistleblower-gate

The recent impeachment inquiry against President Donald Trump is the second attempt by the CIA and the Democratic establishment to sabotage Trump's presidency. The first attempt was the 'Russiagate' conspiracy theory which falsely claimed that Trump colluded with the Russian government to win the election. It took more than two years to defeat it. It had the intended side effect that it disabled Trump from making peace with Russia.

The second is likewise run by the CIA and the Democratic establishment. The CIA created an artificial issue that the Democrats used to justify the launch of an impeachment process against Trump. The impeachment attempt has little chance to dethrone Trump. But the affair will again hamstring any attempts for better relations with Russia. The operation is also designed to further prevent Trump digging into the background of Russiagate and the people behind it.

The second attempt is a simpler construct than Russiagate. A CIA operative who was temporarily delegated to the White House constructed a 'whistleblower complaint' that is completely based on hearsay and public sources. It is also about issues that are outside of the CIA's immediate business.

Until very recently the intelligence community complaint form required that any claimant had first hand knowledge of the complaint issue. The form was changed in August (more here) but uploaded only on September 24 to also allow for hearsay to be the basis of a complaint. This reinforces the impression that the complaint is part of a larger intelligence operations. Who initiated the change?

The whistleblower statute says that the matter in question must be an "urgent concern" that is defined as:

... a serious or flagrant problem, abuse, violation of law or Executive order, or deficiency relating to the funding, administration, or operations of an intelligence activity involving classified information, but does not include differences of opinions concerning public policy matters

At the core of the complaint in question is a claim that Trump used a phone call with President Volodymyr Zelensky of the Ukraine to press Zelensky to investigate two issues. The call memorandum was declassified and published.

During the phone call Zelensky had two requests. He wanted U.S. anti-tank weapons and he wanted an invitation to the White House. (He got both.) Trump also had a request. He asked that Ukrainian authorities investigate two issues of U.S. public interest. The first is the reported interferences by Ukrainian government officials in favor of Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election campaign. This also involved the notorious security company CrowdStrike which made some false claims about Russian hacking in the Ukraine. The second one is the also well-know intervention by then Vice-President Joe Biden against a Ukrainian Attorney General who had an open investigation against a company that was sponsoring his son Hunter Biden.

The U.S.and the Ukraine have a treaty that requires them to cooperate on law enforcement matters. That Trump wanted the Ukrainian authorities to investigated these issues was well known. His personal lawyer Rudi Giuliani had said for several months that he was looking into these questions.

The issues pointed out in the complaint are clearly beyond the scope of the whistleblower statute. Trump's actions with regard to the Ukraine, especially the phone call, were neither outside of any law nor do they involve any intelligence activity. What Trump did during the call was not nefarious. The issue is clearly a question of "differences in opinion concerning public policy matters".

A whistleblower complaint must be send to the relevant agency’s inspector general. If he finds it credible it goes to the head of the agency who decides if it is within the statute and, if it is, sends the complaint to Congress. The agency’s inspector general Michael Atkinson found the complaint 'credible'

You say that will all the certitude you repeated TRUMP!!RUSSIA!!COLLUSION!! over the span of 2+ years.

Why should I credit your opinion about anything?

Apart from being right about Russia invading Ukraine *cough* Crimea *cough* and about Trump's involvement with Russia pre-2016 you mean?

Easy, you don't have to listen to me, Kiki. Listen to Trump saying it himself - from the White House released "transcript":

TRUMP: "The other thing, there's a lot of talk about Biden's son, that Biden stopped the prosecution and a lot of people want to find out about that so whatever you can do with the Attorney General would be great. Biden went around bragging that he stopped the prosecution so if you can look into it... It sounds horrible to me."

It's not opinion, it's fact.

SIGGY use to say if there was collusion in 2016 surely we'd have phone conversations... like this one that was not caught until a whistle blower had the nerve to call it out? Not only does this show Trump's willingness to use help from an adversary to throw an election, it shows how he might have done it before. A simple phone call, you help me I'll help you, wink wink.
