Yeah, that darn presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law.
American should just put all suspects up against a wall and shoot 'em.

I've been on juries, too, full of Republicans who are idiots. That's why the Russians need the best lawyers, so the lawyers can herd the American jury with a few Republicans in whatever direction Putin wants the jury to go. Putin doesn't need every juror to vote not guilty. He just needs the votes of the stupidest ones.

Back when I was an engineer, we'd have meetings where we look for problems that would explode a petrochemical plant we were designing. Then we'd fix the problems. The only people allowed in the meetings were those who had a three digit IQ and who would pay close attention to the problem. That is not how it works on an American jury, or in the American Senate, even though jurors and Senators are also making life-and-death decisions same as engineers.

Jeezuz, SECONDFACE, you prsent the most selected tidbits like it was "context"?
Like it was JUST REPUBLICAN SENATORS who were for invading Iraq?
Well, son, I recall to this day the form email that I got from my very own Democratic Senator, Dianne Feinstein, then Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee [so called] which was the smarmiest piece of go se I've even seen from a politician .. "As head of the ... I know things that you don't know" or words to that effect. Seriously?
Check the vote, every Senator except one ... including your beloved Hillary Clinton ... voted to invade.

To repeat, Signym, you are a fucking idiot. The GOP had control of Congress. There was gonna be a war, even if every Democrat voted against.
And it was painfully obvious to even a military strategy ninny like Senator Feinstein that the US Army would crush the Iraq Army in the Second Iraq War as it did in the First Iraq War.
What was not so obvious was that Senators get reelected more often when they vote for war, or a bigger Pentagon budget, mostly because most Americans never went to war. Never having fought one, except vicariously on TV or in a game, most Americans are pro-War, which is a serious personality fault.
The ruling passion in politics is to go along (with war) to get along (with your colleagues in Congress). Little did those foolish Democrats who voted for the Iraq War understand what a nincompoop President George Bush really was. I was familiar how silly-in-the-head Bush was from his time as Texas Governor, but most Democrats in Congress weren't. I could have told them Bush would screw-up the aftermath of the Iraq War, just as he screwed Texas.
It is the disastrous years after Saddam and his Sons were dead that convinced Congressional Democrats that it was a mistake to have gone along with a War that was going to be fought even if they voted against it. But it was predicted that those years would be a giant mess. Nobody knew how big a mess, unless they accounted for how small G. W. Bush's brain was:
The Fifty-First State?

Going to war with Iraq would mean shouldering all the responsibilities of an occupying power the moment victory was achieved. These would include running the economy, keeping domestic peace, and protecting Iraq's borders—and doing it all for years, or perhaps decades. Are we ready for this long-term relationship?
To repeat, Signym, you and 1kiki are fucking idiots. That can't be repeated too often.
