Why didn’t this come up when Hoffenberg was charged, Quartz asked? “I pled guilty,” Hoffenberg said. “When you plead guilty you don’t go in for elaborate discovery.” Hoffenberg was released from prison in late 2013 after serving almost 20 years in jail. He still hasn’t paid back most of the money he took from investors, a demand the judge included in his original sentence.

Acosta says that he was told to "leave it alone" because Epstein was part of intelligence. That might explain why Epstein routinely committed heinous crimes without ever doing serious time. Supposedly he frquently flew (in his private jet) to "hot spots" all over the world: Sundan, Ukraine, Georgia (the nation, not the state 
) etc.
Yanno, when Trump was campaigning he spoke more than once about human trafficking, expecially of children. This scenario keeps popping up in my head: Trump was invited to Pleasure Island, saw what was going on, and (as Trump has a tendency to do) reacted viscerally and decided on the spot that he was going to do something about Epstein.
Anyway, all credit goes to Mike Cernovich who bird-dogged the original Epstein defamation settlement, which was entirely sealed (unheard of, for a civil case). If I understand it correctly, the lawsuit was brought by one of his victims whom he had defamed as a "prostitute". He spent 11 years and over $50,000 to get the records unsealed, and for several years was cyber-targeted and his family was threatened. Fortunately the Miami Herald eventually took up the cause, which wnet before a judge who decided just recently that the records should be unsealed.
The speculation is that this latest indictment of Epstein in a CYA move by various prosecutors because they knew that with the records unsealed all kinds of shit was going to come out and people were going to wonder why Epstien wasn't rotting in jail, like ten years ago already.

I'm sure Epstein has dirt on so many high profile people it isn't funny.
I don't know how many of those kids on the island are actually legit, straight up kids though. Maybe none of them are?
16 years old and even younger is legal in some states in the US, even in 2019. I'm sure that on the island itself whatever is going on there is legal under that jurisdiction.
All of that being said, the legality of this behavior is not going to matter one iota in the court of public opinion. If the Clintons or Bushes or Obamas or even the Trumps had dealings down there and there is legit photographic or video proof of it, it's over for them.
I don't think Trump had any, like it is already pretty well known that the Clintons did. But it is possible.
I've actually thought that this is the very reason why NOW. If Trump or say, even Trump Jr. has any dirty laundry left back at pedophile island, that could almost certainly mean the end of Trump's 2020 landslide victory. Maybe those in charge at the DNC have decided since all else seems to be failing that maybe it's time to throw the Clintons and the Podestas under the bus to get the Big Fish.

That’s what George Houraney, a Florida-based businessman, asked Trump back in 1992 about an event he had organized at the future president’s request, according to a report from the New York Times.
The exclusive “calendar girl” party at Mar-a-Lago was apparently even more exclusive than Houraney had expected when he put it together — Jeff Epstein, Trump and the girls. That’s it.
“I said, ‘Look, Donald, I know Jeff really well, I can’t have him going after younger girls,’” the party planner recalled in the interview. “He said, ‘Look I’m putting my name on this. I wouldn’t put my name on it and have a scandal.’”
Houraney, who accused Trump of inappropriate behavior toward his girlfriend shortly before the 2016 election, told the Times that he “pretty much had to ban Jeff from my events — Trump didn’t care about that.”
Clearly, Trump was a fan of Epstein in those days.
