I agree that too many have confused RWED and other forums. BungBetty (Iremist) being the worst offender for Cinema, but not the only one. She is no pal of mine, which I had thought she made clear.
I'm only replying to the thought of personal attacks...there seem to be enough going around in the RWED. Here, in Cinema, we discuss our amateur reviews and ideas about the films we truly enjoy, or thoroughly hate. Even those we hate
fall into our enjoyment of movies and films. We have a mutual affinity for the
art form, so I think we can agree to keep it within that context. If a movie is political in nature, we should be able to discuss it on that level, but without resorting to telling each other to go "fuck ourselves." Our vitriol in RWED has leaked into Cinema, which should be avoided at all costs so that we can talk about what we think about a film in general. I know we can do it because it's been done before.
So if you think a film/movie is beating the drum of social justice....fine, say so and give the reasons why. I don't see anything wrong with that. Give the forum your take and then everyone could respond giving their take on the
topic at hand. But keep the comments aimed at the movie/film.

I have not seen Vice, perhaps largely based upon your review.
Some of the comments I made could have been misunderstood due to that fact. Perhaps I was not clear enough in my writing that this was in response of scenes within the film that conveyed the overall theme as I saw it. I was trying to illustrate, with my words, what I felt the movie was trying to get at. This is what a review is supposed to do.

I don't think I have critiqued your review. I am sorry if you feel that I have.
I did not think that you did that. So there's no need to apologize.

Even when I have a different perspective from your review of other films, I don't recall attacking your perspective, merely points of diverging viewpoint or unaddressed plot points. Not normally for sake of argument, but for cooperative discussion, collaboration of viewing experience.
The above I can appreciate and I would encourage, always.

I see where, in this thread, you got derailed on a tangent. But I don't consider that part of your original review.
True that. I agree with that observation. Listen guys, all of you. All of us have every right to contribute to this thread, regardless of how we feel about
a movie/film. It is what it is. Let's move on from this point.

Not to worry SGG. You're chatting with someone who has abused the concept you are speaking about currently.

Not to worry THG...I was being a bit "cheeky" with the review, but I always remember what I learned way back when.
I learned to explore, poke, prod and let it flow. And so, I did.
So yeah, I know. Some times people get it, and some times they don't.
I've always tried to enjoy coming here because I enjoy the movies, that's
just me. If it's in the movie...discuss away!
Well, you get it....so no need to break it down further. Thanks for the
support.

You should wise up and choose better who you affiliate yourself with, SGG.
