More Tragic Deaths in America.

Some of you may have heard that near Chippewa Falls, WI a pickup truck drove across a roadway oncoming lane and into the opposite ditch, plowing through a Girl Scout Troop which were picking up trash, before leaving the scene.
One adult woman and 4 young Girl Scouts were killed. Another Girl Scout was in critical condition.
Today news reported the 23 year old driver admitted he was huffing just before this killing.

Maybe they should just legalize weed finally so this type of shit doesn't happen anymore.

No. My argument is that if weed were legal and cheap and as easy to get as cigarettes and booze are, then you wouldn't be as likely to have idiots huffing paint and glue to take the edge off.

That was on the far west side of Wisconsin.
Green Bay is on the eastern edge of Wisconsin.
On the news tonight: the Green Bay Chapter of Girl Scouts, in the Great Lakes Council, is running a scam around this tragedy. They are running a fund-raising effort with this tragedy as the stated beneficiary. But they are only keeping all funds for themselves, and not allowing any funds raised to be sent to any of the families of the dead or injured Girl Scouts. The money will be used for salaries, administrative costs, and bonuses.
The local Group Leader (Liz Steffel) refused to lie to her 56 Scouts about where the money would go. The Chapter demanded she lie and tell the Scouts that the funds would go to the victims, although none would, otherwise they would fire her. They fired her.
The Great Lakes Council of Girl Scouts must be the worst in the nation. I have bought about $100 per year of cookies, but I check which group they are with first. I won't buy from The Blackhawks.
Girl Scouts running a scam. I wish I could say I was surprised.
