"so no genious award for you"

precious irony

SECOND is a troll because it constantly misrepresents what people post, fails to address their actual positions, and resorts to personal attacks when its brain isn't working (which is most of the time).

You gotta remember. English isn't Kiki's native language. Humor is often lost in translation.

Oh goodie... the three trolls. I'll bet you that at least one is a sockpuppet of another.

You see, someone did notice you.- SHINY

Yes, thank god! My arms were getting tired!

Quote:

This isn't about Trump. Trump didn't create the problems, and he can't possibly solve them.- SIGNY

I beg to differ. First, I never said he "created" the problems, but he certainly has contributed to them. The Tax Thing for starters. And you're right, "he can't possibly solve them", hence my comment that his statement "can not stand." Again, I'm no expert, but according to those who are, he's applying pressure to the wrong area. His actions could bring about a recession at a time when the fragile economy needs pinpoint "surgery" and not a sledgehammer.- SHINY

What is wrong with the economy is so entirely fucked that "pinpoint" surgery can't possibly work. It would be like trying to cure a person with giant metastatic tumors with microsurgery. I think that the main difference between you and me is that you see Trump as the epitome of greed and corruption, whereas I think there is a whole level of corruption so far above and beyond Trump that it's stratospheric, but has made the entire SYSTEM corrupt worldwide. That some of the most basic assumptions (like fiat currency, debt, centralization/ monopolism, and the corporate business model) are so distorted that anything that grows out of them can't possibly grow straight, irrespective of the people involved.

Quote:

SOME of those cycles, however, are 150 years long. Long enough that may be out of the living memory of anyone. -SIGNY

Careful now, we may be on the same chapter, if not the same page. Cycles do come in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes.

It's possible that the "size" and "shape" of THIS particular cycle is "The death of a world currency", like when the world currency shifted from the pound to the dollar.

Quote:

I'm all for Reform and Change, but at what cost? And to whom? The "little guy" can ill afford to play economic poker.
First, one must recognize the problem and its size. If the problem is as large as I think it is, there will be a catastrophe that can't be prevented that will hurt EVERYONE, kind of like global warming. Expecting, or hoping, for a future in which "the little guy" will be spared is unrealistic. IMHO. The only rational response is to individually batten down the hatches as much as possible, and to hypothesize a collective path forward which can resist the spin and distortions that ideologues will put forward as they attempt to capitalize on the fear and doubt in the coming crisis.

Trump's moves have benefitted large corps and CEOs
Not really. If that were the case, they wouldn't be screaming so loud
Quote:

but for us little guys - the sky is falling seems appropriate.- SHINY
Indeed.

Ah so, "we" have been paying attention- SHINY.

To be honest, I have been posting this since I started posting here, so ...

Quote:

Infrastructure is only a part of the solution; it's not the "make-work" program that Obama envisioned.- SIGNY

I know, infrastructure alone is not the answer. By the way, what infrastructure are you talking about? I always thought that it meant bridges, roads, schools, airports and public transport. Yes, sometimes I've been accused of thinking and sprout forth ideas that go somewhat against the grain.- SHINY

Also, communication. Water supplies, watersheds, coastal restoration, energy and grid ... "the commons" ... everything that "business" can't "monetize" that we NEED for sustainable prosperity.

This is one reason why I established this thread. One of the main reasons why I call trump a scumbag, because he relishes the torture of human beings. By definition being a scumbag determines the complete reversal of any type of human decency in the aforementioned scumbag, namely trump.

And there's this:

Quote:

A federal judge on Monday found that U.S. government officials have been giving psychotropic medication to migrant children at a Texas facility without first seeking the consent of their parents or guardians, in violation of state child welfare laws.

Our "government" promotes this "Nazi-like" behavior. Who does this? Only an inhuman
monster with no empathy or feeling whatsoever.

Quote:

Staff members at Shiloh admitted to signing off on medications in lieu of a parent, relative or legal guardian, according to Gee’s ruling. Government officials defended this practice, saying they provided these drugs only on “an emergency basis” when a child’s “extreme psychiatric symptoms” became dangerous.
The judge didn’t buy this explanation, pointing to testimony from children who said they were given pills “every morning and every night.” Officials “could not have possibly” administered medications to children on an emergency basis every day, Gee wrote.

Absolutely horrible. This is beyond frightening, this could be the equivalent of a
war crime. The "government" has adopted "war crime" like tactics to affect future generations of children of color...the brown kind. Those responsible should be gathered and shot. No trial, no jury, nothing but "you forced a child to take psychotropic drugs. Stand here against this wall. Ready, Aim, Fire. All of them should be executed. Plain and simple. You just don't do that to kids, or anybody.
Merely because they seek asylum and a better way of life. How deathly afraid are
these people of losing their privileged lives. What the fuck is wrong with these people!

My guess is that we must reinstitute and activate the "Nazi hunters" because I think we missed a few after WWII.

Quote:

“I witnessed staff members forcefully give medication four times,” one child held at Shiloh, identified as Isabella M., said. “.?.?. Two staff members pinned down the girl .?.?. and a doctor gave her one or two injections.”
Isabella was prescribed multiple psychotropic medications at Shiloh, including topiramate, without her mother’s consent, according to an April court filing. “Nobody asked me for permission to give medications to my daughter, even though the staff at Shiloh has always had my telephone number and address,” the mother testified.

There is no excuse. No reason. This is complete and utter disregard for human life.
If you think I'm being a bit harsh or melodramatic about the above, just wait a few seconds. It is criminal what these "animals" are doing. Shooting is too good for them.

SCUMBAG! Abolish ICE!

What does this have to do with Trump? My cousin joined (what would later become) ICE at the beginning of his professional career forty years ago. He was assigned to Campo, CA, and one of the things that gave him an ulcer was knowing how abusive and predatory some of his fellow "officers" were, especially towards pretty young women. Son, this has been going on for - literally- decades. I know it's fashionable to attach every possible problem to the Trump administration, but that's ridiculous.

Oh, it gets better Captain. I saw an article headline that stated that trump was contemplating another $100 Billion Tax cut for the wealthy.

People just don't get it. "They, TPTB, are out to widen the economic inequality gap and it's "damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead." In the final analysis it's going to be the Ultra-Rich and everybody else.

AS I HAVE POSTED ABOUT TWO DOZEN TIMES ... the "solutions" to our economic and social predicaments are far beyond what ANY President can accomplish, even in two terms. It would require such radical reorganization of banking and finance, a complete overhaul of our trade policies, re-industrialization and repairing/improving infrastructure, breakup of monopolies (including media monopolies) etc etc etc that would put FDR's efforts to shame.

Hahahaha - you are so funny! So "there's no hope! Whaaaa! We're doomed!" And yet Trump with the help of his Republican friends found a way to line their pockets with billions of fresh American tax dollars. He did that, did he not?

I sure hope you will find it in your heart to repeat that when I'm down and need a laugh. I think as SGG alludes to, markets are cyclical, so no genious award for you, sorries.

BTW, I keep seeing you referencing our "economic problems" - what are they exactly? I see nothing but growth and financial wellness, especially if you are wealthy. Employment is shiny - what are our "problems" that you continually whine about?
