It sounds like healthwise you both are doing pretty well. That's good news! SIX, there are a couple of reasons why your BPM might be in the upper range: I heard (somewhere) that some people just have mechanically smaller hearts than others, so their hearts have to pump more often since they can't pump as hard/as much volume.
However, ANOTHER possibility is that you might be somewhat dehydrated. You've mentioned that you work pretty hard in hot environments; if you're sweating a lot you're losing both salt AND water. So try drinking a couple of quarts of water spread out over the day, and put more salt in your food (maybe a 1/2 teaspoon spread out over a day, or a tablespoon of gluten-free tamari [soy] sauce) and check your bp and bpm. If your bpm goes down and your bp stays stable you may have found that you've been somewhat dehydrated most of the time. But if your bp goes up, then you're salt-sensitive, so best to stay away from too much salt.
Over here, destined for a week of 90+ weather, including today, Wednesday, and Thursday at/ above 100. So I've deferred any heavy digging in the garden for the foreseeable future, and will be limiting my yard-work to raking, pruning, and hand-weeding/watering.
It's kind of funny, this summer so far has been very much like the very first post of this thread: Unusually hot, and VERY unusually humid. Some of my garden - the avocados, tomatoes, and eggplant - are taking a beating as far as mites are concerned. So I'm trying a weekly garden spraying with NEEM oil, and spent a fair bit of yesterday hosing down/flooding the avocados, pines and camellias because I read that persea and other mites can be knocked down from the leaves and drowned. I sure hope so! I know I'll have been successful if I see bright new growth that stays healthy. I think I'll do another NEEM oil on the trees as well, followed by a double-dose of predatory mites. It's an ongoing experiment to find a winning combination.

I went to see the ENT surgeon for follow-up. Going boldly up my nose, where no man (except him) has gone before, he pulled a stent from my left ethmoid sinus passage ... the right stent having already been lost somewhere during a hard sneeze. It was not at all as I expected. What I THOUGHT I would see was a mesh/spring-like thing, what I saw was a surprisingly long and narrow hard plastic tube. I hope the opening STAYS open without the stent because I have to say ... my nose is ridiculously stuffy now, having been mangled in-office. And all for what looks (to me) like a teeny-tiny opening! If it doesn't stay open ... another surgery.

Interesting...
I've always had a "problem" with my breathing, as long as I can remember. I can only breathe out of 1 nostril at a time about 99% of the time or more. I hardly ever notice it and don't give it all that much thought since it's always been my normal, but whenever I do notice it is during the "switch-over". What a glorious time that is, because I can actually breathe out of both nostrils for about a minute before it flips over.

From what my boss said last night before I left work.
It is good in a way. Means I have more time to look for a new place and gives my hands a break from what I do for her, so they shouldn't be bothering me so much.
Burns Bog is in Richmond which is a fair ways from me. Wind is blowing the smoke to me and farther.
I figure either something that was smouldering under the peat flared up or someone was walking through the bog, there are trails in there and did something stupid.
