Red and white shall be seen all across this great land. Children singing and music playing for all.

So raise a glass of your favourite beverage and wish my country a most glorious and auspicious day.

I was going to ask if you did not know the year of your Independence.
But today (July 4, Independence Day in America, except for 2009-16, when it was the opposite, Interdependence Day) I heard a local girl on the radio who was 13 and had no clue what was the reason for celebrating something called "Independence Day"
I suppose maybe her parents are Communists.

Nationalism is different in Canada and has always been different up here. The flag is always waved quietly until the 1st of July then we get rowdy.

I've heard something like this before and it was from a couple of months ago. Apparently an American apologized to a Canadian for Trump. Unfortunately I couldn't read the story to find out what happened.
