Arendt's book introduced the expression and concept "the banality of evil". Her thesis is that Eichmann was not a fanatic or sociopath, but an extremely average person who relied on cliché defenses rather than thinking for himself and was motivated by professional promotion rather than ideology. Banality, in this sense, is not that Eichmann's actions were ordinary, or that there is a potential Eichmann in all of us, but that his actions were motivated by a sort of stupidity which was wholly unexceptional.

I think Arendt's analysis of Adolph Eichmann also applies to most of the members of the Trump administration. We witness, daily, the cliché defenses of the administration's cruel and corrupt policies. I also believe the same sort of stupidity which Arendt observed in Eichmann is the defining characteristic of almost every member of Trump's administration, especially the President. They have no character, no moral compass and their arrogance is boundless.

She likely has no idea how repulsive she is. Just another Nazi.
