Apparently there was a film made about it, as nd it can be seen for free.

Honestly, no I don't. I could make some joke about our data being breached every other day, but this one completely missed my radar.

Last year, around February, Yahoo was looking to be sold, and was forced to disclose that they had the largest data breach in history ( that we know of). IIRC it was almost the population of America.

3 BILLION accounts, or roughly 10X the American population (including babies), or every account that Yahoo ever had. It occurred in 2010 and was only revealed three (fours?) years later.

Yes, the linky works, but it's a podcast not a video.

I only remember the breaches that affected me ... so not Google, not Yahoo, not FB, not that big chain store (I forget it's name) but was affected by IRS data breach (it screwed up my taxes for 3 years) and Equifax.

It was kinda boring. It DID bring up the 3 billion account hack in 2013, but then harped on the much smaller hack attributed to RUSSIA!!!. Didn't address hacks in general, or what to do about them. (Next show, they promise) The most interesting part was the description of physical hacking ("penetration testing") by a woman, who sounds like she enjoys her work, a lot! 35:38

I had heard it would explain how it happened, the decisions made leading up to it, etc.

Nah. As related to the 3 billion hack, they said (basically) We will probably never know who and why. The reason may not show up for years.
