Ex-Trump aide Nunberg reverses: Mueller probe not a 'witch hunt'
Former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg says that he believes special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russia's meddling in the 2016 election is "warranted," walking back his previous remarks calling the probe a "witch hunt."
"No, I don't think it's a witch hunt. There's a lot there, and that's the sad truth," Nunberg told ABC News in an interview broadcast Saturday, a day after he answered a subpoena by Mueller's team to testify before a federal grand jury on his time in the campaign.

So a reasonable person (ex-Trump aide or not) points out the fact that a Fishing Expedition Fake probe into nonexistent Trump-Russia Collusion is a Witch Hunt, and also points out the fact that an investigation into Hilliary and Obama Collusion with Russia meddling is warranted.
This is not news. These are not mutually incompatible facts.

"The president has to do an interview, I would say. I would highly suggest that he does," Nunberg told MSNBC's Alex Witt.
Nunberg went on to say the president needs to explain the circumstances surrounding the firing of former FBI Director James Comey in May.
"He has to explain the logic why, when he based the logic on the [Deputy Attorney General Rod] Rosenstein memo, and then the next day he gives an interview to Lester Holt saying it has to do with Russia," he continued.
"But then he has the Russians in the Oval Office. And by the way, who the hell in that White House let that happen? He was so ill-served by his staff it was unbelievable. Therefore I don't think Rosenstein had any choice but to put that special counsel."
Nunberg made headlines last week when he went on a cable news blitz on Monday after he said he would not cooperate with a subpoena issued by Mueller.
The former aide reversed course last week and testified before the grand jury.
Nunberg told Witt that he never was in any personal legal jeopardy.
"As long as you don't lie in the grand jury or interview, that's it. That's it for me. I have no criminal liability to the best of my knowledge and to the best of what they have told me."
