He was White House Staff Secretary, until the news got out, and it turns out that the White House knew about his past troubles, not only because of the breaking news story, but because the FBI (as part of their vetting procedures) determined that he was not eligible for security clearence; the WH knew since October 2016. So we could include "Wifebeater" as another title.

He decided to quit rather than be asked to leave (that's the official story from the WH). So far, the Trump Administration (I use that term very loosely) has had triple the number of firings and resignations of the Obama Administration. Just so you know, that's not a good thing for the Trump WH.
