Yanno WISHY, EVERY TIME you complain that complaining about something never changes anything, I'm really tempted to tell you to shove your own advice up your own ass, especially when you post your own complaints!
But apparently, you simply can't see the irony of posting about the futility of posting. Self-recognition a blind spot for you? I wonder ... do you even see yourself in a mirror?
But mostly, when you post like that, the best advice I can give you is your own: Shut the fuck up. Or at least stop telling people to.

It's like "bombing for prosperity", "warring for peace", and "propaganda for freedom". I know that people who make those kinds of excuses are well-meaning ... they want to think of themselves as "good people" ... but they just can't confront the damage of their advocacies.

For me, war is - still - some distant event. So, I imagine like most people, my empathy for the (mostly brown) people the US has managed to kill and displace over the decades is muted.
I've noticed the people here with the strongest, most visceral reaction to Trump are the people who've experienced direct violent abuse by a parent. Trump, I imagine, brings back a lot of feelings, with his smug, demeaning, untouchable persona.
The fact that he isn't wholesale bombing (mostly brown) people doesn't even compute.
I can understand that reaction to Trump. It seems pretty simple to get.
