Most people here haven't experienced the horrors of war as a civilian. I know I haven't. Depending on age and circumstance, what we know about war comes from WWII or Vietnam movies, news, and maybe some personal accounts of people who fought as soldiers.
So, I'm lucky enough I guess, to know someone who was a child hiding behind a stone wall while 50mm rounds were taking it apart from the other side. Who saw a man standing on a bridge blown up in an instant, and the only thing remaining was his boots. Who saw a woman rumored to be on the 'wrong' side, hung upside down and cut with hundreds or thousands of cuts - who he thought was dead, till she opened her eyes and looked at him. Whose grandfather was chained to the cart he was forced to pull, while being strafed.
I honestly can't imagine what kind of impact being there would have.
For me, war is - still - some distant event. So, I imagine like most people, my empathy for the (mostly brown) people the US has managed to kill and displace over the decades is muted.
I've noticed the people here with the strongest, most visceral reaction to Trump are the people who've experienced direct violent abuse by a parent. Trump, I imagine, brings back a lot of feelings, with his smug, demeaning, untouchable persona.
The fact that he isn't wholesale bombing (mostly brown) people doesn't even compute.
I can understand that reaction to Trump. It seems pretty simple to get.

I've told you guys before I didn't vote for Trump, I like America, most Americans I met were cool, even the insane crazy ones. I have been there a while, I'm not American and don't have any side to pick in the red vs blue political fights
I don't know how anyone could call Trump 'Evil' ...some get un-hinged with the magazines politics and tv, caught in media hysteria, say he is....therefore is George Bush evil, is Obama evil? is Hillary evil?.... to me he's a kinda semi-normal typical rich White business guy, had a Daddy with money, he is a business Leader, tv host wrestling personality, Building Real Estate etc Trump is his own brand and unfortunately if he's not chill calmed, he might have a Super Ego...Trump in a way is like a guy who was an expert in Baseball, he's trained but in the wrong game, but found himself on the NFL or Basketball game and then freaks out because he knows 'Baseball' this 'dance' is stupid and he can't play it. In a way he might be a guy who goes into a Casino or Trade Deal or Vegas or some place... tells his fan base he knows the game is rigged...so he flipped the table over dumping the cards all on the floor and single-handedly destroys the Obama administration legacy, the Clinton machine, the Bush dynasty, the Democratic Party, and the Republican Party...so he can play a game he thinks is more fair for his fans. For certain Neo-Con, Globalist, social Leftwing or moslem brotherhood types the Presidency may be known as the Trumpocalypse...I think maybe the whole Brexit feeling in Europe and Trump base may have some connection to each other.
I thought at the start his US Presidential media circus campaign was something of a joke, however when the Media wanted the US public want to vote for another Clinton or Bush I realize just how stupid US politics had become and I knew there could be something serious about Trump.
Even for a good time Fox was against him, the Fox media network didn't want Trump, he was Anti-Hillary but Fox wanted people to vote for another Bush not Trump Presidency. The US Election is a Long, Long campaign...too long if I may so say as an outsider...once Trump started to win votes in the primary everyone started to freak out!! This probably only added to his movement.
Donald J Trump is the grassroots reaction, the workers, the poor, the middle class that bust their ass and got poorer...he is that great big 'F-CK YOU!' to globalization, the unfair trade deals, Americans getting sucked into bad politics, never ending wars...he is the angry voter and A LOT of people voted from Trump, White, Yellow, Browns, Blacks, Natives have all voted Trump and some of these very same voters would have voted Obama in first time around...I do not deny some rightwing religious hicks or white nationalists or whatever may have voted for him...but many types of people voted for Trump and they all had their personal reasons
What might catch Trump is
1 a spectacular series of disasters, structural, like a collapse of the political system, the roads, the buildings, the bridges everything is old and needs to get done and refreshed, while keeping jobs and the economy moving...for a construction business man to watch big companies fall or buildings or highways implode could be a huge political embarrassment
2 He like many Republicans don't really believe in Climate Change, this also may catch him, the air is dirty, the food is getting messed up by corporate companies, they dump stuff in the Ocean. Nature is changing, and man does pollute, do what degrees mankind has changed its environment may be up to debate but Pollution and Climate Change is something real...something is going to push with mother nature, an Oil rig may crash big oil spill, a hugeass forest Fire in California bigger than anything we have seen before, maybe a flood or Hurricane...I don't know what it is but I feel Earth is due something from nature...I also believe there is a spiritual respect and 'wisdom' America has not yet le

Signym is a pseudonym. Does it need saying that pseudo-people don’t have real families? The most this website knows about the real person who operates the puppet or pseudo-person Signym is an email address (which doesn’t have to be real because this website doesn’t verify addresses before adding them to its database) and a location that is not exact. See the Browncoat map at http://fireflyfans.net/browncoatsmap.aspx
Having gotten preliminaries out of the way: Please put your original comment back, Signym. It was a well-written, rational comment about President Hillary murdering the world and shipping jobs overseas and letting roaming, rootless, illegal aliens and international bankers annihilate America’s unique culture. The real President Donald J Trump looks relatively good compared to Signym’s imaginary President Hillary.
Please, please put your original comment back, Signym, so that we can quote you. If you do, please include citations to back your Hillary data and conclusions.

I kind of wish that Frem would cool down and come back and discuss this like a rational person.
I know that THIS is not the person that Frem wants to be... a terrifying motherfucker that silences people via threats. The Frem I knew fought tooth and nail against people who did just that.

Seriously Second, go fuck yourself.
I'm not a paranoid person, but the internet is hardly anonymous, and Frem is somebody who can actually make shit happen and isn't just full of shit about everything like you and Reaverfan are.
All of you fucking idiots cheering him on for putting out a threat like that just because it happens to be against anybody who doesn't outright hate Trump like you mindless goons do because CNN told you to. I'll bet if you knew who Frem was and he had made a similar post about anybody supporting Obama a few years back, or Hillary today if she had won, you wouldn't take such a fucking blase attitude about it.
If that really was Frem that posted that, somebody he cared deeply for was just hurt badly and/or died, and he feels that somehow Trump is directly responsible for it. If that is the case, I don't want to be on the receiving end of his vigilante justice, and I'm glad that Signy isn't taking any chances either.
That post from Frem was completely out of character for him in many, many ways, and all I can do is hope that things aren't as bad as I'm assuming that they are and that he doesn't, or already hasn't gone off the deep end.
Full Disclosure: He knows my name. My real name. We used to be friends before I fucked up royally and imploded on a booze fueled nightmare. He wouldn't even have to do any work to fuck my life up if he wanted to.
Do Right, Be Right. :)

Yes I did.

And who cheered for him, "putting out a threat like that?"
Geez. Well, we don't have to go far to find the first answer to that question. Let's look at POST NUMBER 2.

"If you stand against humanity, decency, and mercy...
You stand against me."
Yeah. I read more than 2 sentences into most things. You should try it sometime.
Here's the rest of it, in case you missed it:
Quote:
And I can and will destroy you if I can.
This administration, and those who support it, are in opposition to everything I have ever held dear, and in opposition to everything that was ever humane or decent - should you announce your support, or even admiration for it, then I will consider you below the lowest level of Nazi SS death camp guard, and crush you, personally and professionally, in every damn way I can reach you.
You'd be well advised to run now.
You've already cost me the very fucking LIVES of some of those I care about, and there will *BE* no mercy, none whatever, and I am DONE talking.
Admiration? Support?
Hell... some could consider simply admitting to having voted for Trump "support", even if they had already done a complete 180 by now.
Quote:
Why does that make you and SIGNYM so nervous? Are you both against "humanity, decency, and mercy???"
If this really is Frem, it sounds NOTHING like him. He's not in a right state of mind and blinded by rage and lashing out. He's in pain. Who the fuck am I to say who somebody in this state would decide was and wasn't anything?
I don't personally think that he would ever do anything to me, but I can't say that for sure. I consider this a very valid threat.
Do Right, Be Right. :)

So we have our answer.
If it's against somebody you disagree with, then it is perfectly acceptable for somebody to make legitimate threats upon their life and livelihoods.
At least we know who we're talking to now. Thank you for your honesty, G.
You now lose any argument with anybody on any topic in the eyes of anybody who is not blinded by emotion.
Do Right, Be Right. :)

I think I'm being reasonable with my posts, but FREM's post sounded .... crazed. And there's no good being reasonable when you're facing a crazy person.

It doesn't take a psychologist to see the red flags...We don't have any pills or treatments that would help them... No Wizard is going to make them see they are actually broken and that it doesn't make them "special". I wish you could fix ignorant with logical, but these people are a lost cause...
Arguing with them is COMPLETELY POINTLESS.
