Trump’s Charlottesville talking points came straight from Fox News.

Yup, it's the same old reichwing "both side do it" crap they've been spewing for years.
The REAL truth: "Nothing makes us more proud at the KKK than we see white patriots such as James Fields Jr, age 20, taking his car and running over nine communist anti-fascist, killing one [expletive]-lover named Heather Heyer. James Fields hail victory. It’s men like you that have made the great white race strong and will be strong again."
Bottom line: The Grand Dragon for the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan is openly celebrating the heinous muder of an innocent patriot, while promising more violence in the future.

Yup, it's the same old reichwing "both side do it" crap they've been spewing for years. - REAVER
Yes, some people in ALL political persuasions resort to violence. But dividing people into "sides" is just a form of dehumanization.
It's funny, the board didn't used to be this way. We had people of all political persuasions here: Far-out libertarians like SARGEX, and deep-state libertarians like GEEZER and anarcho-libertarians like FREM and we didn't fling "sides" at each other. There was a very long thread ... precipitated by the Rwandan massacre ... about "demonization" and how it is the first necessary step towards genocide. When you reduce "them" to something less than human, it makes "them" so much easier to target. A bad thing to do.
Plus, it's STUPID. In real life, people don't divide up into "sides". It only happens when they're provoked into it. Serbs and Croats, Ukies and Russkies, Shia and Sunni, Hutu and Tutsi ... they got along fine for hundreds of years, until some demagogue decided to stir things up. Nothing brings a baboon troop together like LEOPARD! LEOPARD! and creating enemies is a great way to bring people to "your" cause.
I guess the RUSSIA! boogeyman didn't work so well (Amazing how it died out, and how quickly you forgot it, huh???) so now the DNC is provoking a right wing-left wing polarization.

Why Was This 'Crowd Hire' Company Recruiting $25 An Hour 'Political Activists' In Charlotte Last Week?
Now, the discovery of a craigslist ad posted last Monday, almost a full week before the Charlottesville protests, is raising new questions over whether paid protesters were sourced by a Los Angeles based "public relations firm specializing in innovative events" to serve as agitators in counterprotests.
The ad was posted by a company called "Crowds on Demand" and offered $25 per hour to "actors and photographers" to participate in events in the "Charlotte, NC area." While the ad didn't explicitly define a role to be filled by its crowd of "actors and photographers" it did ask applicants to comment on whether they were "ok with participating in peaceful protests." Here is the text from the ad:
Actors and Photographers Wanted in Charlotte
Crowds on Demand, a Los Angeles-based Public Relations firm specializing in innovative events, is looking for enthusiastic actors and photographers in the Charlotte, NC area to participate in our events. Our events include everything from rallies to protests to corporate PR stunts to celebrity scenes. The biggest qualification is enthusiasm, a "can-do" spirit. Pay will vary by event but typically is $25+ per hour plus reimbursements for gas/parking/Uber/public transit.

So what is "Crowds on Demand?" According to their own website, they're in the business of sourcing large crowds of people to "provide clients with protests, rallies, [and] flash-mobs" all over the country. They even have an entire page on their website dedicated to "Protests and Rallies."

They, the Confederacy, are a bunch of losers. The monuments mainly were erected some 40 years after the fact (end of the Civil War).
What people seem to forget is that they tried to secede from the Union, by military force over slavery. Our country, the United States, was founded upon freedom from tyranny and being treated like "slaves" by the monarchy.
What these idiots are doing is anti-American (promoting fascist principles and dictatorship). Comparing Washington to General Lee is so wrong and out of context. One fought to give birth to a new nation of free men; the other fought to enslave humans and break away from what Washington (and others) had created, that very new and free nation - the United States of America.
Flawed men, yes, but what they achieved exists today and is positive and good. What these Nazis are looking to destroy is the very thing that allows them to carry on like a bunch of dicks.
Besides their anger is misled. But that's another story. The White Dickheads are comparing apples to oranges (no pun intended). In the European continent slaves were often produced as the spoils of war. The Romans were infamous for that, so were the Greeks, Germans, etc. Even in Africa that existed. Mostly from warring tribes and the like. So we could go back thousands of years and claim that at some point slavery existed.
The Spanish brought black slaves to the West Indies once they killed off the natives living on the land at the time. Some through illness and some through the less than stellar treatment at the hands of the Conquistadores.
Do they have slavery today? Does this make it okay, if they did? Or if they once did?
It is a stupid argument brought on by stupid people. But I agree with what you say, the Founding Fathers did do something that to this day is a positive thing...they created a new way of thinking. Granted there have been some negative developments along the way. Over 200 broken treaties with the Native Americans. Which is another reason why I despise these bullies who claim that they want "their" country back. That is not so. The Europeans that came to this country way back when, are immigrants themselves. There is no other way to put it. The only true Americans, born in this country, who were the stewards of this land far before the first Pilgrims landed was the Native American. Period. End of story. Full Stop.
So, Mr. Drumpf, put that in your pipe and smoke it!

But there is something wrong with Trump's argument: We celebrate the good things the founders did. Confederates didn’t do anything good.
As part of Tuesday afternoon’s bizarre remarks on the white supremacist demonstration in Charlottesville, Virginia, President Donald Trump suggested that removing monuments to Confederate military and political leaders could put the United States on a slippery slope.
“Was George Washington a slave owner?” he asked, rhetorically. “So will George Washington now lose his status ... are we going to take down statues to George Washington? How about Thomas Jefferson?”
Tucker Carlson sought to further muddy the waters on his Fox News show Tuesday night, by observing that figures such as Plato and Mohammed also owned slaves.
These arguments aren’t exactly offered in good faith. But even then, they reflect a profound misunderstanding of the nature of the Confederacy as a project — and of the difference between commemorating its leaders compared to America’s Founding Fathers.
Jefferson Davis, Robert E. Lee, and the other politicians and generals who served the Confederate States of America aren’t noteworthy historical figures who also happened to benefit from the institution of slavery. They are historical figures who are noteworthy almost exclusively because they led an insurrection against the United States of America, an insurrectioNOTIFY: Y | REPLY | REPLY WITH QUOTE | PERMALINK | TOP | HOME

“When Donald and Ivana came to the casino, the bosses would order all the black people off the floor,” Kip Brown, a former employee at Trump’s Castle, told The New Yorker for a 2015 article. “It was the eighties, I was a teen-ager, but I remember it: they put us all in the back.”
Trump allegedly disparaged his black casino employees as “lazy” in vividly bigoted terms, according to a 1991 book by John O’Donnell, a former president of Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino.
“And isn’t it funny. I’ve got black accountants at Trump Castle and Trump Plaza. Black guys counting my money! I hate it,” O’Donnell recalled Trump saying. “The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.”
“I think the guy is lazy,” Trump said of a black employee, according to O’Donnell. “And it’s probably not his fault because laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is, I believe that. It’s not anything they can control.”
Trump told an interviewer in 1997 that “the stuff O’Donnell wrote about me is probably true,” but in 1999 accused O’Donnell of having fabricated the quotes.

Leftist love nothing more than repeating a lie over and over until finally people start to believe it. Here is yet another instance of that on display. Rather than admit they are wrong, they double and triple down. It's not unlike a toddler who refuses to admit they were wrong.
The reference to "there are four lights" is from Star Trek – the next generation. I have used this meme a few times here before.
The Cardassian was trying to get Picard to say that there are five lights. Four or five, really what difference does it make anyways? But that is how they play these games. Get you to admit a small lie, something that isn't true , just a trivial thing. Once they do that, it becomes easier for you to fall in line and repeat other, larger lies

You knew Trump was a racist before he was elected president of the United States of America. He was elected in spite of that (yet another reminder that “not all Trump supporters are racist, but all of them decided that racism isn’t a deal-breaker”).
Trump told Bryant Gumbel that “a well-educated black has a tremendous advantage over a well-educated white in terms of the job market”; demanded the death penalty for a group of black and Latino teenagers accused of raping a jogger in Central Park (and, despite their later exoneration with the use of DNA evidence, has continued to insist they are guilty); suggested a Native American tribe “don’t look like Indians to me”; mocked Chinese and Japanese trade negotiators by doing an impression of them in broken English; described undocumented Mexican immigrants as “rapists”; compared Syrian refugees to “snakes”; defended two supporters who assaulted a homeless Latino man as “very passionate” people “who love this country”; pledged to ban a quarter of humanity from entering the United States; proposed a database to track American Muslims that he himself refused to distinguish from the Nazi registration of German Jews; implied Jewish donors “want to control” politicians and are all sly negotiators; heaped praise on the “amazing reputation” of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, who has blamed America’s problems on a “Jewish mafia”; referred to a black supporter at a campaign rally as “my African-American”; suggested the grieving Muslim mother of a slain U.S. army officer “maybe … wasn’t allowed” to speak in public about her son; accused an American-born Hispanic judge of being “a Mexican”; retweeted anti-Semitic and anti-black memes, white supremacists, and even a quote from Benito Mussolini; kept a book of Hitler’s collected speeches next to his bed; declined to condemn both David Duke and the Ku Klux Klan; and spent five years leading a “birther” movement that was bent on smearing and delegitimizing the first black president of the United States, who Trump also accused of being the founder of ISIS.

There is a very real and present danger in bearing false witness up on those with whom you disagree. Calling those who are racist when in fact they are not racist, demesnes the actual word itself. It's like crying wolf over and over again hoping that maybe one Time the charge me actually stick.

Second - bizarre as the birther stuff was, it originated from the Hillary campaign. And if it were true, there would be zero racism involved. It would be in fact a legitimate issue. Regardless of whether or not he was our first black president. What, do you believe that just because he is our first black president he is absolved. from any wrongdoing or potential scandal? Sorry, it doesn't work that way. You don't get to arbitrarily assign intent when someone questions whether or not Obama was born in the United States. What about John McCain? Or Ted Cruz? Born outside of the geographical United States, but were still naturalized citizens. Do you think questioning their citizenship would be racist as well?

Knowledge is a bitch
Politico, April 22, 2011: The answer lies in Democratic, not Republican politics, and in the bitter, exhausting spring of 2008. At the time, the Democratic presidential primary was slipping away from Hillary Clinton and some of her most passionate supporters grasped for something, anything that would deal a final reversal to Barack Obama.
Fact check.org and smopes try to spin the story as false, claiming that the Hillary campaign proper wasn't involved. Not officially at least two. Which is exactly how these things work. Get a "unaffiliated" group which does support a candidate, but doesn't officially get any marching orders from it to put out information, or participate in the actions which will hurt the opposition. Just like "ducks on the ground" which was another Hillary operation , intended to cause chaos at Trump rally's.

His interrogator was David Warner, who has played Human, Klingon, and Kardashian on Star Trek.
Just curious, would you ever have eaten that wormy egg thing that Picard did? Seems to me he wasn't there that long to be so desperately hungry.

Indeed, we even have a concrete example of the kind of thing that needs to be done from back in July, when overwhelming bipartisan majorities in Congress voted to tie Trump’s hands on Russia sanctions. This is how, in theory, the American system of checks and balances is supposed to work.
But mostly it hasn’t been working. Republicans could easily change that, without jeopardizing the policy priorities they share with the president.
They could restore funding that Trump’s Department of Homeland Security eliminated for de-radicalization programs aimed at white nationalists.
They could hold hearings on the potential threat of white nationalist groups to the country.
They could make their anti-Trump statements on Fox News and conservative talk radio outlets, delivering the message to the people who need to be persuaded that Trump is wrong rather than simply distancing themselves from him in the eyes of mainstream audiences.
They could also, of course, formalize and solemnify their disagreement with Trump though an official resolution of censure.
They would be greatly mitigating the threats posed by Trump’s alarming flirtations with neo-Nazis and sketchy Russia-related behavior, without in any way compromising conservative policy principles.

A large majority of men who fought and died in the war did not "own" slaves.

LOL... yeah. The history books say that too. But reality shows that from day one we had slavery here in the states. My ancestors were Irish. The only rights they had above blacks essentially boiled down to having the choice of telling their employer no when they wanted to fuck their daughter, at the cost of being booted from their shack to go and find another Boss that hopefully wasn't feeling so rapey.
Every since slavery has ended in the US we have continually exploited 3rd world nations for labor for pennies a day. Just because nobody really reports on it doesn't mean that it's not still happening.

"Dehumanization is at the heart of every campaign of genocide and system of oppression. Dehumanization yields a justice system that criminalizes, over-polices and over-incarcerates entire groups, which is horrifying enough. When you continue the trend of describing people as not fully human, it becomes a lot easier to put them in gas chambers and internment camps; render them as chattel property; or kill off the native people of countries you've colonized."

You've forgotten the past. Hillary Clinton started the birther movement during her election bid against Obama. Trump just ran with it.
Obama did plenty to delegitimatize himself. Obama may not have personally founded ISIS, but foreign policy and the disruption of the Middle East that happened under his watch did.
Granted, this ball was rolling many decades ago, so not all blame should be cast at Obama. I would say that GWB shares an equal amount of it.
That being said... Obama was "Hope" and "Change" and he was going to put an end to all of that shit and it only got much, much worse while he presided.

It really is hard to know if you really know something, ain't it? Sorry - your "Hillary did it" just doesn't pass for me, too Fuxie, too convenient. I'm not saying it definitely did not happen - I have no doubt she could and did get up to stuff - but if 6 is quoting it as fact it's got stink all over it like Pizzagate stink. Plus she's the all too convenient bogey woman for Liberal haters. And then there's conflicting evidence - it's not as verifiable as Trump running with it for 5 years. And then there's Trump being a lying pos every day since he started his campaign.

OMG you guys are too much.
First, that whole repeating a lie over and over is a ploy used to near exhaustion by your fearless dickhead - D. Trump. "I know it, and you know it. Many sides were to blame" - what a fucking joke. I watched the special report when the whole thing broke out. It was plain as day, the fucking Nazi goose-stepping low life scumbags were using, bats, pipes and two-by- fours, and shields to beat on people. There was a video of 5 or 6 Nazis beating on an unarmed black student who was counter-protesting...UNARMED and they beat him with clubs, bats, sticks, punches and kicks. 5 to 6 guys.
There were reports of these scumbags hitting women, pushing clergy (who were there to keep the peace). One eye witness was interviewed and she said that the clergy were dressed in their religious garb but that it made no difference, they were pushed and shoved by these punks and that the volunteers from Antifa came along and escorted them away from the violence.
But Trump, in his full throated glory, says that the "left" began the violence.
But, of course, they say nothing of the fliers that were passed around openly saying that they, the Nazis, were going to kick some ass. Of course, they were "peacefully" marching without a mean bone in their body. Then why were they dressed in "riot" gear and motorcycle and bike helmets? And, of course, Trump doesn't mention the bottles filled with urine, and the cans of soda being thrown.
No lies. Of course not!

I'm more apt to toss out a sci-fi themed reference on this site than I would on most others. 4 Lights is a personal fav of mine.It so glaringly applies to the propaganda and lies spread by our MSM.

Hillary and Obama bashing is in the Trump playbook 101. Whenever he is criticized . . . he quickly blames Hillary or Obama, or both.
Bannon disavowed them once he made it to the White House. Like France after the liberation, it seemed everyone was suddenly a member of the resistance and nobody was a collaborator. At least, that is, until Saturday, when the president invited speculation that the old popular front is still operational.
Whatever its status at the White House, the alt-right thinks it will replace the traditional right. It won’t, for the simple reason that the vast, overwhelming majority of conservatives are patriotic and decent, just like Americans generally. They don’t want anything to do with people who want to overthrow the Constitution and set up racial Bantustans.
No, the real threat to traditional conservatism is the mindset that made it possible to form even a theoretical alliance with the alt-right in the first place: the idea that winning and fighting are self-justifying.
Over the last decade, many on the right have convinced themselves that the real problem with conservatism is a lack of will.
They admiringly quote left-wing activist Saul Alinsky admiringly and claim that “we” have to be like “them” by doing whatever is necessary to “win.”
During the campaign, when Trump attacked the ethnicity of an American judge or the parents of a fallen Muslim U.S. soldier, the response from his defenders on the right was usually, “At least he fightsff”
Such amorality was warranted, many explained, because if Clinton had won, America would be “over.”
National security official Michael Anton, then writing from the safety of anonymity, dubbed it a “Flight 93 election” and argued that conservatives must do anything for victory or accept certain death. In an interview with New York magazine, Anton went further. “If we must have Caesar,” he said, “who do you want him to be? One of theirs? Or one of yours (ours)?”
The election is over. Yet that spirit not only endures, it has intensified. Trump’s conservative critics, or “apostates” as Conrad Black calls us, face the same ultimatum. “The choice, for sane conservatives,” Black writes, “is Trump or national disaster.” Black is hardly alone in making this or similar cases. The upshot of them all is that the test for “sane” (or real or good or true) conservatives is loyalty to the president, not to any coherent body of ideas or ideals. Even truth takes a back seat.
I’d point out that such thinking could invite the worst and most opportunistic creatures to infiltrate the movement. Except they already have.

Good. Nazis are, by definition, terrorists, and should be treated as such.
It's never going to go anywhere because of people like who throw the word around everywhere.
By your own logic, more than half of the people who post on this board are terrorists.
Are they going to start rounding up half of the country now?
What a joke.
Nazi terrorism has been the most common form of terrorism here for decades. Time to drain the swamp, the sooner the better.

LEAKED: The Planning Meetings that Led Up to Neo-Nazi Terrorism in Charlottesville
http://www.unicornriot.ninja/?p=18194
Charlottesville, VA – Leaked audio recordings of conversations carried over the chat app Discord show how white supremacist, neo-nazi, and ‘alt-right’ organizers prepared for last weekend’s ‘Unite The Right’ gathering of hundreds of racists and anti-semitic self-proclaimed fascists in the scenic Virginia town of Charlottesville.
The various neo-Nazi, white supremacist, and alt-right factions that descended onto Charlottesville relied heavily on Discord chat servers for many aspects of their operational and logistical planning for the series of violent white supremacist mob gatherings last weekend that ended in neo-nazi terrorist James Alex Fields, Jr. killing 32-year-old Charlottesville local Heather Heyer and injuring at least 20 others.
“Discord has had a monopoly on communication between members of the far right hate groups for the past six months if not more. Almost every leader in this movement has an account there. So much of the coordination and collaboration of Charlottesville took place on Discord.” –Keegan Hankes, intelligence analyst, Southern Poverty Law Center, quoted in The Guardian
The Unite The Right voice chat meeting held on August 10, 2017 to coordinate participants for days ahead, appears to have been facilitated by white supremacist alt-right organizer Eli Mosely.
“The main thing with social media stuff is to be paying attention to Discord the day – from basically from now until the end of the rally.” – Eli Mosley in August 10, 2017 “Unite the Right” Discord voice chat
“If you don’t have the Discord app on your phone, get it.” – Participant in August 10, 2017 “Unite the Right” Discord voice chat
The conference-call style discussion centers around a “General Orders” (rules and guidelines) document (PDF) that Mosely created for Unite The Right attendees.

Says who? First off, there are no Nazis. There are a bunch of racist white idiots and some of them I'm sure can get quite violent. I don't know how many times I have to say that when somebody commits a crime that they should be arrested, tried and punished for it.

For example, clearly it is bad to plow your car into a group of people, whether you're a pissed-off antifa, or a KKK racist, or a radical jihadist.
Instead of saying "racists are bad" what about "racISM is bad"? Instead of saying that the KKK/antifa/jihadists are bad, can't we just say that political violence is bad? Then we can stop beating each other over the head.

Let me tell you something JSF, the Nazi Party goers and KKK do not go to rallies peacefully. They arm themselves to the teeth. As far as Antifa goes, they'd be pretty damn stupid if they didn't go prepared for a fight, especially when the so-called alt-right sends out fliers declaring there intent to kick ass.
I never said that Antifa went totally unarmed. And yes, I saw both sides throwing things and Nazis punching and kicking people as they tried to reach for things on the ground. Then there's the eye witness account of a female pastor of the church in Charlottesville, that was surrounded by a gaggle of Nazi nut jobs pushing and shoving their way toward the statue the night before the rally was to start (The night they appeared with their tiki-torches). They were knocking down clergy, not that that should matter to you, or any right-wing nut job. They were there to keep the peace. These brave "men" were punching women in the face.
And another thing, neither you, I or Drumpf the Idiot, were there to say who started what. All I'm going by is the eye witness's account. She did not say that
the Nazi pricks started it, but that they attacked the group she was with, which was made up of clergy from the area. She did say that Antifa members helped save their lives, when they gave them cover as the Nazis confronted the clergy. I was watching an interview, with that same female pastor, when suddenly she was whisked away by an Antifa volunteer, right in front of my eyes and she ran for her life as someone attacked during the interview.
And the attack by those 6 Nazis on one guy, was merely because as the KKK marched, the young student was telling them to go home. He was a student from the nearby college, UNARMED. Beatened, kicked and clubbed. Merely because he spoke to them. That's it! He also stated that one of those that was beating him had a gun.
Oh, by the way, when you say "aggressively attacking those who had a PERMIT to be there"... that means that they, Antifa, started it. Attack means that they were the aggressors. Like I said, none of us, least of all Trump, to say, as an eye witness, that Antifa started anything. So stop lying!!!
Fliers are free speech, but they show intent. It could easily be used as proof in a court of law. Fuck it, it doesn't matter because everyone with half a brain (present company excluded, you have a quarter of a brain) knows that these Nazi fucks think they are big and bad. Yeah right! A fucking dick wad gets all teary-eyed and blubbering like a bitch when he merely received a warrant for his arrest.
He CRIED because he received a warrant.....are you fucking kidding me!? And this after he bragged to a reporter how big & bad he was, working out at the gym in prep for the rally, how he was ready to kill someone. Yeah, what a fucking loser.
You guys gotta pick a better class of racist!

No, leave it die of it's own accord. This thread (and others like it) are much needed. Racism, race relations must be discussed, and sometimes it takes an ugly bumpy road to get there. People are being killed for stupidity, and it must be stopped, not ignored. What's needed is dialogue, much like what we are having now.

You are a real fucking piece of work Siggy.
Let me see if I have this right: Stop name-calling, you stupid fools. - SHINY
Okay, maybe you don't know what this expression means, so here are some definitions:
PLAYED FOR (A) FOOL(S)
To treat someone like a fool; to assume someone is naive or stupid.
To treat someone as if they are stupid, especially by trying to get something from them in a way that is not fair
http://idioms.thefreedictionary.com/play+for+a+fool
To be played the fool; to be patronised, deceived, conned or taken advantage of. to be treated like an idiot.
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=played%20the%20fool
I didn't mean that you ARE fools, I mean that you're being treated AS IF you're fools, AS IF you can be hoodwinked, flim-flammed, cheated, swindled etc. The negative aspect goes to the person who is attempting to deceive, not to the intended victim.

So, going past all the back and forth - I read Trump's statements - all of them.
And I read many news accounts of what happened.
And you know what?
Trump was right. There was provocation on BOTH sides. There was instigation on BOTH sides. There was violence on BOTH sides. There's truth on BOTH sides. There's blame on BOTH sides.
Just because the particular things you were allowed to see made one group LOOK more menacing than the other doesn't mean you got the truth about what they DID.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is a myopic partisan who's blind to everything but their own pov reflected back to them.

Trump is not the problem. He set himself against the Deep State's agenda. And the Deep State's been heading for WWIII for years.
As for you, you're just a Deep State useful idiot, furthering its agenda. So I hope you enjoy cesium in your coffee. You've earned it.

What I find particularly distressing is how SOME people on this board are so willing to divide Americans into "them" and "us", and categorize and then castigate entire groups of people who IN THEIR MINDS believe/ stand for IN THEIR MINDS repugnant ideas.
"People" just don't divide into groups like that. It's not like there are "white fascists/ Trump supporters" and "antifa/ Hillary supporters" and nobody else.
MOST people's ideas are more granular. They might agree with one thing (economic nationalism or global warming) but not other things (white supremacy or international finance).
Why are we beating up on EACH OTHER, trying to pin people into certain groups where they really don't belong? The only thing that I think we can agree on that political violence is wrong, violating the Constitution is wrong, and there is NO "side" that's exempt from that.
So let's blame those individuals who engage in that behavior, whether they're "right" or "left".

You find that distressing.
I find it frightening.
I see that GROUPS are being vilified. What's the point of all this hate-mongering, if not to make one group support the suppression of another? To make us the dupes in someone else's plan to fracture our society, disable any vestige of democracy, and separate us from the power we have in numbers?
BTW, I also find the current hate mongering well in tune with the endless cycling of the enemy de jour that started with bin Lade ... aliban ... Saddam ... and has been running ever since. We're presented with one enemy after another, without pause, or thought, or even memory of who came before, or reflection about why were we after them, again ?, or the one before that, or the one before that. After a while we don't even care about the reasons. It's just one endless game of whack-a-mole.

A little over 30 years ago, I was married to a narcissist. I did not come to know that at the time (they are particularly skilled at turning things around to their seeming advantage).
Fast forward to about a year ago. I met a woman online that had all the earmarks of a long lasting relationship, but no, I eventually found out that she was a narcissist. On both occasions it took me some time to recover because they really screw with your mind, unless of course you know what to look for. They twist things, even illogical things, and make it seem as though it's your fault. A real head trip if ever I have experienced one.
Trump is such a narcissist. Now I'm not saying that our resident comrades are narcissists, but I am proceeding with caution and laser-like attention. Just in case. I'm going to keep my wits about me. Control and manipulation is the name of the game, and if you don't agree with them....well, you know the deal.
My ex wife, and then my most recent girlfriend, did some con job on me. But it took me some time to catch on (partially because I'm too trusting) but catch on I did.
I'm no expert, but I've picked up on a few things. But I can honestly say that Trump is a text book example of a Class A-1 narcissist. NO question. Backhanded compliments and all.

Is that about right? Wow, you actually wrote that. You are not the only one with thoughts and opinions, but to tell people to stop the name calling and then violate the very suggestion you made....now that takes brilliance.
Straight from the Siggy playbook, SGG. I would add that on top of "brilliance" it takes ignorance of any self awareness as well. I've seen her insult people in the same sentence that she acts like a victim. WTF? Does she read what other people post? Purposeful ignorance.
Also in her playbooK: acting like you are the first person to think of something when half the people you're talking to have already said it. It's Trumpian. It's Control Freakian.

I'm curious, I've never met a narcissist. (At least, I don't think so.) I've heard that that they're very dangerous, and (as my daughter notes quite often) I'm really very nosy! I'll actually turn around and drive up to a cluster of police cars and ask "Hey officer! What's going on?" But, aside from my nosiness about police action ...
What cluster of events/ reactions led you to realize that you were dealing with a narcissist? I'm just really, really, really curious.
It's a personal question, so if you find it offensive, I'm sorry. Curiosity sometimes gets the better of me.
