Loozing a cat on a trip soundz like a horrible ordeal, DT. Most uv the cats I'v lost just disapeared. They are all free to go out wenever they want, so are at risk uv getting stolen, picked up by animal control, killed by coyotez, killed by bad nayborz. Also sum had at least 1 other rezidens and the other family moved away.

I had a cat that wuz gon for 8 months then showed up acting like it wuz only a day!

Well I watched it. There was actually at least 1 segment that they repeated in there. Not sure if that was an accident or they wanted to get the point across more.

I dunno. Was there anything in particular you wanted to talk about there? It wasn't really any evidence about anything... just a lot more opinion pieces and hearsay. I especially liked the part where the woman with laryngitis was saying all the reasons why Trump needs to show his tax forms. Couldn't even provide one compelling reason that he "must" show them, although I did agree with some of the reasons why we should be curious what is in them.

That's because no such phrase exists in the original article, though all the reports of the report would have you think so. The real quote is longer, more guarded, and more nuanced.

The other thing I like to look for in the original is LINKS to original evidence. But I found none. Diligently tracking them down, and then the links found in the links, and so on - all I found were links to other stories, and official ~~propagand~~ pronouncements, which themselves contained no evidence. (Except for Guardian links to Guardian stories, which - unhelpfully - frequently didn't go to a particular story but to a generic webpage. That made it hard to track those particular links further back.)

Tracking down the links, which one assumes point to evidence, I FOUND NO EVIDENCE FOR THE CLAIMS IN THE STORY.

But I DID tangentially find some very interesting tidbits that indicate Trump was right, after all.

No third party voice is going to gain traction by saying "come on conspiracy theorists, time to move closer to the media. The neocon/neolib thing was a conspiracy theory when we were posting about it 12 years ago, but I'm pretty sure now it's just reality.

We do need a third party point of view, but we also need someone who will listen. So, take a moment and seriously consider what we are saying here. No just me and 6, but everyone here. I USED to watch Rachel when she first came on the air. Then I realized she wasn't a reporter. Nope. And she's not even a lowly newscaster, like Brian Roberts.

She's a COMMENTATOR, like Rush Limbaugh. It doesn't mean she doesn't at times stumble into an unvarnished nugget of fact. But, by the nature of her JOB, you have to examine pretty much everything she says, just like you have to with Rush.

Watching that stuff all the time isn't healthy J0. For a while there my parents listened to that AM station that has Rush on all day long at their business. I had a talk with my step-dad about it once and said that they shouldn't listen to him that much because he was just some rich guy getting even richer because people listened to all the stuff he wanted to talk about and get pissed off about things. I could tell that it was effecting them.

I was in their shop a while ago and noticed they just had a music station playing and I asked where the talk radio went. He said that after our conversation he decided I was right and he doesn't listen to that shit anymore.

I give the same advice to you.

My general feeling is that anyone who can't find a good thing to say about a democrat and a republican is not someone worth listening to. I call them agenda monkeys.

Consider it logically, or LoJiklE if you prefer. 90% of the time a democrat or a republican shares the party of their birth, even if their views, like Lincoln Chafee, or perhaps Ivanka Trump, don't necessarily coincide with their parents. So, the moniker Democrat or Republican, are completely random, and inherited, just as much as black and white (or asian) and to cherry pick one to defend and one to support is either because one is on the partisan payroll, or should be or lastly becaues they're just repeating and retweeting what the party operatives have said.

On a personal level, I don't know where I got it from, and I don't know why my parents lean to the right either. My dad simply would not discuss politics at all while I was growing up. He considered himself apolitical. He also said he was agnostic, which is another topic altogether, but I am a lot like my dad in a lot of things. Some good, some bad.

I was mostly raised by my Mom and Step-Dad. We fought constantly. It was not a good situation. Politics were almost never a discussion we had. It was only many years later when we patched things up that I ever had any political conversations with them. I found it strange that they identified as Republicans when their parents and their siblings were all Democrats. My uncle, the very successful lawyer, as well as his daughters are constantly posting ultra-liberal things on Facebook. I really have to get around to going to my mom's and blocking their posts on my mom and step-dad's phones since they don't know how to do it themselves. They are among the few still living members of that side of the family that we actually talk to anymore and I'd hate to see them stop talking because they're arguing about unimportant nonsense like we do in here.

I also had an older friend at my last good job who was an Ultra-Conservative and GWB could do no wrong in his eyes. He'd talk about his parents and how they were worthless hippies. He said it was the Alex P Keaton syndrome. His belief was that everybody ends up in the opposite end of the political spectrum as their parents out of rebellion.

This is all pretty interesting to me. It should be noted that in France right now roughly 40% of a largely undecided voting public is in loud support of Le Penn.

How did the Democrats fuck things up so bad that it's actually become the Counter-Culture thing to be Conservative?

What is the actual solution though? If you mean that we should all pay 1/5 of our income to a "health tax" how would that work? I already said that most of the women I worked with at the Mart were essentially paid double for the same job because they were getting $12,000 tax returns when they barely paid any taxes. In order for them to pay their 1/5th, you'd have to take that 12k away from them and take another 2-3k on top of that.

I didn't bother looking into who gets the money. They had 3 plans... something like 1 year for 50 bucks, 2 years for 70 bucks or 5 years for 100 bucks. Those were flat fees with no additional taxes or charges. Maybe it is all taxes? I don't know. I didn't bother asking when the whole 5 years was about 40 bucks more expensive than one month of my old cell phone bill after taxes and fees.

I just use a 3 phone cordless system, with 2 of them on satellites and it worked fine. Don't know how many phones you were trying to use on it.

The only problem I've had with it is the data bottleneck. If I'm streaming a show in HD I have to stop the show when the phone rings or I'm making a call out. Strangest thing is that I can hear everything other people say to me, but if I'm maxing out my internet connection they can't hear me.

One place where your logic doesn't work, Mr. Robot, is in the human perception of money. What you say is completely logical here, and even if I were still on benefits I would not object to this part at all personally. $1 is $1, whether you gave me $1 up front or you gave me $1.30 and took $0.30 in taxes later.

People are pretty dumb though. How many people do you know that don't raise the number of dependents on their W-2, even after they are aware that it's perfectly legal to do so? They like having that extra big paycheck in May, so they essentially give the Government a free loan all year long by overpaying every paycheck and even the relatively smart ones think of it as an extra paycheck "from uncle sam".

I think if you stopped the taxes on government payments and then just reduced the payouts accordingly you'd have people with pitchforks on the white house lawn.

I don't necessarily believe where they tell us the taxes they get from the lotto go, but I don't agree with not taxing the lotto. I'd want to see one of two things happen.

I would take that a step further then. Cut out the IRS/FED completely from that equation, but continue to tax the Lotto at the same level directed to the State to divide among the local governments to also fund education.

Then, lower property taxes an equal amount to what is being now funneled directly into education through the lotto tax. If this reduces the education portion of property taxes to zero, than the excess can be gains for the educational system without penalty.

A large majority of your property taxes are what goes to schools. In many areas, simply making this change would bring property taxes for many people down to almost nothing compared to what they're paying now. it would cut my own property taxes by about 2/3rds, for example. Property taxes in my state are very low compared to say Illinois though, so I believe that the Educational system would be gaining a lot more through the lotto tax than they would be losing by eliminating taking taxes from property taxes.

That's awesome. I really have to start doing some of my outdoor projects. It's been a great summer for it, but I've been obsessively working on a few computer related projects that have kept me inside more than I should be these days.

We are in 100% agreement on the nature of property taxes. I, personally, take great offense at the idea that I own my house free and clear and yet I still have to pay rent every year to the government to live in it.

Another idea that I had a while back that I was sharing with my brother was the idea of straight up replacing the property tax with a mortgage tax. Most Americans have a mortgage, so this wouldn't change very much for most people, but I think there are two very good things that it would do.

1. It would reward being responsible with your money. People might live a little more like I do and at least look into budgeting and cutting costs on unnesessary bullshit if they know that they will no longer have to pay the mortgage tax when their house is paid for.

2. Seniors on very fixed income would have the most to gain from this, as they'd be the demographic most likely to benefit from it. This could be especially valuable for those of us being told now that we won't be getting social security benefits when we reach retirement age.

Add to that the idea I had about taking the Lotto taxes and applying them only to education and it would easily be funded, and it would be a lot more of a fair system that wouldn't essentially be the government charging you rent to live in your own home.

A little hard to see, but there are actually very few parts that I had to make. The bulk uv BeNDR iz the 6 x 6 x 3/8 x 120 steel angle wich started life az a shaft bearing press I made 12 yirz ago, the the 4 x 4 x 1/4 x 96 steel square tube, and sum acme rod & nuts purchased for this project. The end piesez are wut I made. They enable it to make a progressivly sharper bend from 1 side to the other, wich iz not possible on ordinary sheet metal brakes.

The biggest advantaj for me iz the very small footprint - only 8 inches by 10 ft. An ordinary apron brake capable uv bending 8 ft woud take up about 10 ft by 8 ft and way about haf a ton.

What kind of ride is that? I love those old tanks. I had a 79 LTD for a couple of years. The exact same model and color that Uncle Buck drove, but it was in way nicer shape.

Sadly I had to sell it off to somebody who knew more about cars since I didn't know how to fix them at all back then and it was constantly breaking down on me. Would love to have it again now that I have my own garage.

At least I see in the other thread you're not so hot on Democrats these days either, so that's progress. I get the idea that you're still enamored with Obama and loved how the country was going for 8 years under his administration though, so I don't see how we're going to be able to have a reasonable discussion here.

R. Foot: NO! WAY!
