I do believe that there should be some debate about this.
I don't believe in a straight up Popular Vote, but a lot has changed since those laws were written and I don't feel that they're serving us properly any longer.
The beauty of the plan is that it will piss off the Republicans so badly they will pass a Constitutional Amendment abolishing the Electoral College.
It’s a win-win-lose: the Democratic party will never again be screwed by the Electoral College, the GOP controls the Presidency, and Trump loses, after all.

Hillary Clinton’s decision to join Green Party candidate Jill Stein’s recount efforts in key states may have been welcome news to Democrats, but it is unlikely to change the outcome of the presidential election. Nor will complaining about the unfairness of the electoral college or begging Republican electors to vote for Clinton. Democrats’ best chance to prevent Donald Trump from assuming the presidency is instead to do the unthinkable: Throw their support behind another Republican, such as Mitt Romney, the former Massachusetts governor and 2012 GOP presidential nominee.
To become president, a candidate must get a bare majority of 270 votes when the electoral college meets Dec. 19.
As Alexander Hamilton explained, the electoral college provides a backstop in the event voters select a dangerously unfit candidate. “The process of election,” Hamilton wrote, “affords a moral certainty that the office of President will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications.” Electors would use their judgment to prevent the “tumult and disorder” that would result from “this mischief” of presidential candidates exploiting “talents for low intrigue, and the little arts of popularity.” One might call it the cooler-heads college.
Election Day produced 306 electors pledged to Trump and 232 pledged to Clinton. A petition at Change.org asks Republican electors to vote for Clinton. A group calling itself “Hamilton Electors” seeks to persuade at least 37 GOP electors to vote for a Republican other than Trump, leaving him with only 269 votes. If no candidate secures 270 votes, the House of Representatives selects the next president from the top three vote-getters in the electoral college.
Either strategy is a fool’s errand. Whatever reservations Republican electors may have about Trump, empty entreaties from Democrats are unlikely to sway them. Even if 37 Republican electors voted for another Republican, the GOP-controlled House would likely select Trump anyway.
The only way Democrats stand any chance of persuading Republican electors to abandon Trump is with a dramatic gesture of true bipartisanship. If all 232 Democratic electors pledge to reach across the aisle and vote for a Republican alternative to Trump, it would take just 38 GOP electors to make that person the next president.
If Clinton announced she is releasing “her” electors and asked them to vote for a credible Republican alternative, she could plausibly deliver all 232 Democratic electors. She might even secure similar pledges from House Democrats in the event the election went to the House.

Hardly a day goes by without Jared Kushner being anointed with a new role in the Trump administration. Is Kushner, Trump’s Kissinger? A man of such genius that he inspires in this president so much confidence that whenever Trump asks himself, “who’s the most gifted individual in whose hands I can place this awesome challenge?” the answer is always Kushner?

My hunch — nothing more than that — is that the reason Kushner keeps on getting new roles has nothing to do with his abilities and everything to do with Trump’s relationship with his own daughter Ivanka.
In spite of Trump’s repeated indications of being sexually attracted to Ivanka, the man who has lived his whole life with the expectation that he can grab whatever he wants was, in this instance, forced to rein in his own desires. (I am willing to assume he has successfully done that primarily because I see no indications that Ivanka feels the need to maintain a safe distance from her father.)
At the same time, given Trump’s grandiosity, it’s hard to believe that he truly believes that Kushner or any other man would really be good enough for his daughter.
So perhaps the reason Trump keeps on giving Kushner new roles is because he wants Kushner to fail.
Does Kushner look like a man brimming with such immeasurable confidence that he can conquer anything?
Not really.
More like a timid young man who’s afraid of saying “no” to his tyrannical father-in-law.

Trump declined an invitation to throw out the ceremonial first ball at the Washington Nationals’ opening day game Monday.
Politico reported that Trump was “in talks” with the team to toss the first ball, but hours later the White House claimed that Trump had a “scheduling conflict,” without providing any information about why he’s skipping this ritual.

Has anyone noticed that Trump's tweets lately seem to be largely random blasts from the past? It's like he can't really think of anything to say anymore, so he's just reliving his greatest triumphs of the campaign.
In the past few days we've been subjected to: Hillary gave away our uranium to the Russians; Ford is investing in American factories; the New York Times apologized after the election; Trump is treated unfairly by the media; the New York Times is failing; the House Freedom Caucus is bad; China is stealing our jobs; the whole Russia thing is a witch hunt; the Russia thing is fake; the Russia thing is a scam; Obamacare is a disaster; the real story is all the illegal leaks; Fox News reports that Trump was spied on during the transition; John Podesta's brother is a crook; and Hillary got the answers to debate questions. Yes, received the "answers" to debate questions, as if they're multiple choice tests that have right and wrong responses.
Trump has only been in office a few months and he's already living in the past. This is a bad sign, folks, for his mental health.

Half of those things the MSM talks about every day.
90% of the rest of it are things that are still relevant even if they don't get coverage.
The only questionable tweet would be the one about Hillary getting the debate questions, but given the unprecedented treatment he has received from the MSM since his election, he's probably just reminding people that the other candidate and the MSM were in collusion.
