You have to admit, this happens ALL THE TIME.
That's the problem with 24 hour news networks and "celebrity" reporters. There's no actual News on any of these networks. It's just a bunch of speculation and opinions all day long. Depending on which network you watch the news will sound different because somebody is pushing their own bias, or the bias of their network.
I haven't watched the Daily Show in years, but I do remember when John Stewart was on it that they were better at bringing you actual news than any of the networks ever were, and I say that even knowing that it had a liberal bias back then. I'm sure it's just an SJW shit show now. That has nothing to do with the fact that Trevor Noah is black. It's just a fact that all late night comedy news shows out there today are SJW shit shows today. ESPECIALLY that Seth Meyers d-bag.

Shit Jack. First of all to suggest the news is never right is ignorant. Second, John Stewart said himself he was a comedy show and not a news outlet. It's a shame his fans would listen to him as thought he was delivering actual news, and not listen to him when he would say he is a comedy opinion show.

Jack I've read you are sobering up. For that reason I will still answer some of your posts.
And hey, all the best with that.

I'm not saying that the news is never right. I'm just saying that the 24/7 news networks are nothing but 24/7 opinion pieces and they do a hell of a lot of speculating and talking about stuff before they have any actual facts. To say that the "News" is never right would be to say that all of their opinions are wrong 100% of the time. Even the most opinionated and least intelligent person on earth is right some of the time.
I remember John Stewart actually commenting on the fact that more people were getting their news from him and him saying "Don't Do That!". I don't think it was just because he was a comedian and younger people would rather watch his show. I think he came off as more honest than most news reporters and at the end of the day his show resembled more what news should be than the crazy 24 hour news networks.
I still hold local news in high regard. I just don't have much respect for the cable network news.
Thanks for the well wishes, btw. Been sober since New Years day. I didn't intend to do it or anything. I just started a few projects that I'm enjoying and thinking about what to do next. There's been a few times I thought about getting some beer when I go shopping, but I think about how that will only lead to two more wasted days at least and I choose not to. I'm not having any withdrawals or anything. I just need to keep myself busy.
Do Right, Be Right. :)

Curious - why are you so sensitive to any criticism of Trump when you only support 20% of what he stands for?- GSTRING
Because I hate lies. The so-called "criticisms" of Trump are mostly fake news ... yanno, like the "WMD" scare. They're mean to drive a response in most people, NOT to bring anyone the truth. Didn't you read THUGR'S post about FAKE NEWS? ...- SIGNY
OK, I didn't get to finish that thought, this is one of those busier times.
It's not that the media lies: ALL media lies. It's just that there's so much chaff in the air that nothing IMPORTANT is being discussed. And it's serving it's purpose: keeping people from identifying what's really important to them, and distracting people with ghafla ... trivia. Shiny bits of paper and foil thrown into the air for people to focus on.
Here is what I think is important:
The good of Trump's policies is to
1) Make nice with Russia
2) Drop out of the "free trade" agreements which obliterate our sovereign decision-making, and to
3) Kick out the illegal immigrants in the USA. (I have a whole plan for that which involves Constitutional Amendments in exchange for a path towards citizenship.)
Going to add 4) Breaking the CIA and it's "soft coup" which happened about 1990.
In reality, we need to re-industrialize and re-economize the USA in a sustainable manner. I could go on about that, but I won't.
The bad of Trump's policies:
1) Turning our conflict with China, which is primarily economic, into a military conflict.
2) Intensifying our conflict with Iran. Really? Why?
Some of Trump's policies have yet to be determined: Public education, Israel, the environment (so far, not looking good); etc.
But in all of the faux-outrage about "Russia invading Korea" (Maxine Waters... just go to Youtube) and "safe spaces" nothing of importance ever gets discussed.
I read an interesting article by an anti-Trump person, and if you can make your way through the discourse about game theory this is what I think he's saying:
The event of Trump's election has turned people into THINKING that this is a Rollerball-type competition. Even natural allies, or people who share 90% of their interests in common, are coming to real-life disagreements over something relatively fake, like Trump's election. But decide for yourselves. https://southfront.org/the-game-theory-of-trump-not-every-tweet-is-a-c
onstitutional-crisis/
IMHO, the reality is that we had coup already. Liberals who decried the events under GWB - the random foreign invasions, the exaggerated wealth gap, the erosion of our Constitutional liberties in the fight against "terrorism", the increasing centalization of Executive power ... took their eye off the ball when Obama was elected. IN REALITY, the erosion of our Constitutional liberties, the random destruction of foreign nations, the wealth gap, the Executive Orders .... ACCELERATED under Obama. The rich got richer, the wars continued, we got more and more mired in sacrificing ourselves internationally, we turned into a universal surveillance state. (The next item will be to persuade everyone to stop using cash: "What a convenience!" That makes every transaction trackable, controllable. After all, that's what China does! India has outlawed large denomination currency, and the EU is heading in that direction.)
Trump's election is, IMHO, simply a conflict between the American Industrialists and the Global Financialists. Nationalists versus the international spy-cartel. Instead of figuring out how WE - the average person - can parlay this Clash of the Titans to our advantage, we are transfixed ... transfixed, I tell you! ... into how big Trump's hands are, iPhones, and other ghafla.
Surely, we can focus on more important things than fake news and lies!

Surely, we can focus on more important things than fake news and lies!
In one of Trump’s most infamous campaign speeches, he attacked his Democratic opponent’s connection to the financial sector. “Hillary Clinton meets in secret with international banks to plot the destruction of US sovereignty in order to enrich these global financial powers, her special interest friends, and her donors,” Trump claimed.
After he won the election, Trump met with a group of bankers, including Jamie Dimon, the CEO of international megabank JPMorgan Chase, and discussed the future of Dodd-Frank, the package of laws enacted in 2010 to prevent a future financial crisis.
“We have some of the bankers here,” Trump told reporters afterward. “There’s nobody better to tell me about Dodd-Frank than Jamie, so you’re going to tell me about it. We expect to be cutting a lot out of Dodd Frank, because frankly I have so many people, friends of mine, that have nice businesses and they can’t borrow money…they just can’t get any money because the banks just won’t let them borrow because of the rules and regulations in Dodd-Frank.”
When Trump is on the campaign trail, there’s a conspiracy of international banks undermining the US. In the White House, he’s found these same bankers offer the best advice on how to tailor the laws so his friends’ businesses can get loans. The same day, Trump signed an executive order directing his Treasury secretary overhaul Dodd-Frank, with his economic advisor Gary Cohn, formerly president of Goldman Sachs, saying banks had too much capital and followed too many rules.

Not when all your posts are propagated with it. Then that becomes the topic, not any other particular issue being discussed.
