Here's some more reichwing misdirection trying to make Soros some kind of Koch-style manipulator.
Sorry, it doesn't add up. When he spends almost a billion to sway the elections, there'll be some comparison. Until then, there isn't.

Our FBI confirms the hacks of the DNC come from Russia.
Acutally - no.
So once again THUGGR proves himself an illiterate idiot! The article says the FBI merely confirms it's investigating the hack.
The people who say it's the Russians are NOT the FBI.
The FBI has acknowledged that it is investigating a massive breach of the Democratic National Committee's computers, which sources and experts (NOTE: NOT the FBI) say was likely the work of government hackers in Russia.
Not only did the hack apparently allow the cyber operatives to steal opposition research on Republican nominee Donald Trump, but also, many suspect, it led to the theft of internal messages that show efforts by DNC officials to undermine Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders during the primary season. Those damaging emails have since been released by WikiLeaks, agitating Sanders supporters at the start of the Democratic convention in Philadelphia and prompting DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz to tender her resignation, effective at the end of the week.
"The FBI is investigating a cyber intrusion involving the DNC and are working to determine the nature and scope of the matter," the FBI said in a statement today. "A compromise of this nature is something we take very seriously, and the FBI will continue to investigate and hold accountable those who pose a threat in cyberspace."
For weeks, the FBI had been unwilling to confirm it was looking into the hack — or even that such a hack had taken place, as The Washington Post first reported in June.
Nevertheless, a cybersecurity firm (NOTE: NOT the FBI) working with the DNC spoke extensively at the time about how the DNC was hacked by "two separate Russian intelligence agencies."
Dmitri Alperovitch, a co-founder of firm CrowdStrike (NOTE: NOT the FBI) , told ABC News in June he knew "definitively" that the GRU, Russia's military intelligence agency, was behind the cyber attack and that he was "less confident in but [had] reason to believe" Russia's Federal Security Service also took part. A Russian Embassy spokesman denied the allegations.
The hackers were "looking for opposition research on Trump and his campaign" and "they did take opposition research on Trump," Alperovitch said (NOTE: NOT the FBI) at the time.
"This also shows you espionage has now moved off the just physical realm of recruiting spies and getting information. It's now through cyber means. This is a traditional target of Russian intelligence for 100 years but now doing it for cyber," he said (NOTE: NOT the FBI) , referring to U.S. candidates and campaigns. "I would say this is not surprising at all. This is what intelligence agencies" want to get.
He said (NOTE: NOT the FBI) that the DNC is "absolutely" safer now and that CrowdStrike did a full remediation and "kicked out both adversaries." He added that CrowdStrike installed software because the firm "expect[s] for them to come back."
"Russian intelligence's interest in the U.S. political system will not cease. It will only intensify, and there will be ongoing attempts to hack into the network going forward," Alperovitch said (NOTE: NOT the FBI) .
Let me just point out that the author left out vital relevant facts in the opinion piece. Doing that is known as c

Here is an exact and direct comparison between the Koch Bros and Soros spending in the USA. While the Koch Bros do outspend Soros (within the USA) the difference in not "orders of magnitude", both spend mid-double-digit millions of dollars.
Quote:
When it comes to the combination of institutional lobbying, 527 group donations and PAC expenditures, Koch Industries far out-spends Soros’ hedge fund and think tank, $57.4 million to $12.8 million. Most of this money is attributable to lobbying expenditures.
Soros and the Koch brothers have all donated to federal political campaigns and committees. While Soros has far out-spent the Koch brothers in donating to 527 groups, especially when considering his incredible $23.7 million in donations to the groups between 2003 and 2004, the Koch brothers have donated more money to federal candidates and committees.
The Koch brothers give almost exclusively to Republicans just as Soros donates predominately to Democrats and Democratic organizations. Overall, Soros has spent $34.24 million and the Kochs have spent $4.06 million.
So, Koch Bros spent $57.4+$4.0 = $61.4.
Soros spent $12.8+$34.2 = $47.0
About the same
Soros, OTOH, spends a lot of money to influence elections outside of the USA, and on Dem foreign policy, something that the Koch Bros don't do. (They spend on USA energy policy)

I would answer this post like this SIG.
Why Russia buys Putin’s lies
MOSCOW — The outside world knows Russian-backed militants shot down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, using missiles supplied by Moscow, even if few leaders are yet willing to say outright that Vladimir Putin has blood on his hands (again).
But the Russian public is happy to buy Putin’s lies.
“It’s obvious the Ukrainians did this, the separatists don’t have the weaponry or the ability to shoot down aircraft at that altitude,” a partner at a major law firm told me.
Never mind that the “separatists” had shot down at least two Ukrainian planes in the week before, or that the Ukrainians had no reason to shoot at any plane because the militants have no airpower.
Then there’s an economist at the Ministry of Finance: “The Ukrainians are fascists, of course they’re responsible.”
One university professor was a bit more honest: “You don’t understand. We’re Russians, we will never admit guilt to outsiders, especially to Americans. Even if we know we’re guilty.”
In the outside world, people know the “rebels” have done all they could to impede any impartial investigation even seizing the bodies of the 298 innocent victims, and that the missile launchers were quickly pulled back into Russia after the atrocity.
But this is a schizophrenic society. People distrust their own government, but they distrust and hate foreigners even more. Many understand that Russia is probably responsible, but they’ll never admit it; it’s not a society given to self-criticism or honesty.
http://nypost.com/2014/07/21/why-russia-buys-putins-lies/
Perhaps your and 1kiki's thread development and lying posts is a sick attempt to justify your following Putin. Maybe what you are doing by constantly digging up dirt on the WEST is a kind of therapy for you. So you can say to yourselves, see we ( Russia ) ain't so bad.

No ass, it's because you keep defending every thing Russia does. And it doesn't matter how bad it is. If you were American as you claim, there's no way you would do that. It's like the Russian professor says and I quote “You don’t understand. We’re Russians, we will never admit guilt to outsiders, especially to Americans. Even if we know we’re guilty.”
Yet you and 1kiki constantly bash America while defending Russia. No American would ever do that. It's a dead give away. Simply to most but apparently way over your head comrade.
As I have said many times. You two ain't that bright. You think you are but all you do is cut and paste. Most times your comments don't support what you have pasted. This is why your arguments get picked apart and destroyed by the other posters here. Again simple, you are dishonest and easy to expose as such.

So, speaking of George Soros' PAID TROLLS ....
Quote:I guess Carras was George Soros' paid troll.
In one document entitled: “Open Society Initiative For Europe (OSIFE). Mapping the Ukrainian debate in Greece” ... Soros offers a consultant a remuneration of $6,500 (gross) for “at least 15 full working days in carrying out this task” plus all expenses paid.
The aim of this task:
The consultant is expected to chart the main players in the Greek debate on Ukraine, outline the key arguments and their evolution in the past 18 months. Specifically, the report will take stock of any existing polling evidence provide a ‘who is who?’ with information about at least
– 6 newspapers,
– 10 audiovisual outlets (TV and radio),
– 6 internet sites,
– About 50 opinion leaders and trends in social networks[1].
Categorize the main strains of discussion and eventually identify different sides / camps of the discussion.
Provide a brief account of how Russia has tried to influence the Greek debate on Ukraine through domestic actors and outlets
Include a section with recommendations on
– What are the spaces OSF should engage and would most likely to have impact?
– What are the voices (of reason or doubt) that should be amplified?
Open Society Initiative For Europe (OSIFE) selected Iannis Carras for the Greek media mapping grant. The justification why he was chosen…
All contracts were for the same amount. We needed to find highly specialized researchers to map the debate on Ukraine in Europe, therefore we identified a shortlist of candidates in consultation with colleagues in the Think Tank Fund, OSEPI and in consultation with members of the OSIFE board and chose the most qualified who could produce the report in the time allowed. In the case of Greece we agreed that Iannis Carras, an economic and social historian of Balkan and Russian relations with expert knowledge of Greece’s NGOs and social movements, was the best suited to the task.
What is even more interesting is not the grant from OSIFE, but a letter from grant winner Carras to a person named Mathew (another Greek speaker???), outlining his plan in detail for pushing Soros’ Ukraine agenda in Greece.
Quote:Working for an organization that needs to remain hidden because of the wide distrust it evokes in the target population.
Of significance is how Carras tells Mathew about Greek society’s overall suspicion of The Open Society after the roll in played in seeding unrest in Yugoslavia. Carras even tells Mathew to not mention The Open Society in Greece.
“Do you want your name to appear alongside mine on the paper? Do make comments on all of the below.
In general, and at your discretion, do not say you are doing this for Open Society because it is likely to close down doors. There’s a lot of suspicion about Open Society in Greece, mainly because of its positions vis-à-vis the former Yugoslavia. As I am simultaneously writing an article for Aspen Review Eastern Europe that can be used as the organisation for which research like this is taking place.”
Quote:
Carras then goes on to outline his approach in manipulating Greek society, covering topics such as:
1. Media.
2. Political parties and think tanks
3. Opinion polls.
4. Business relations.
5. Religious and cultural ties.
6. Migration and diaspora.
7. Greece and Ukraine in the context of Greece’s economic crisis.
8. Greece, Ukraine and the Cyprus issue.
9. Names and brief description of significant actors: a ‘who is who?’ with information on at least 50 opinion leaders
Carras notes how Russia has much goodwill in Greece, exercising “signifiant soft power”. Carras notes that Greece is, at this moment, a weak player in the Ukraine debate and the Greek Foreign Minister KoNOTIFY: Y | REPLY | REPLY WITH QUOTE | PERMALINK | TOP | HOME

Leaked Memo Proves Soros Ruled Ukraine In 2014: Minutes From "Breakfast With US Ambassador Pyatt"
Quote:
We noted in a previous post how important Ukraine was to George Soros, with documents from DC Leaks that show Soros, and his Open Society NGO, scouring the Greek media and political landscape to push the benefits of his Ukraine coup upon a Russian leaning Greek society.
Now more documents, in the massive 2,500 leaked tranche, show the immense power and control Soros had over Ukraine immediately following the illegal Maidan government overthrow.
Soros and his NGO executives held detailed and extensive meetings with just about every actor involved in the Maidan coup: from US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt, to Ukraine’s Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Justice, Health, and Education.
The only person missing was Victoria Nuland, though we are sure those meeting minutes are waiting to see the light of day.
Plans to subvert and undermine Russian influence and cultural ties to Ukraine are a central focus of every conversation. US hard power, and EU soft power, is central towards bringing Ukraine into the neo-liberal model that Soros champions, while bringing Russia to its economic knees.
Soros' NGO, International Renaissance Foundation (IRF) plays a key role in the formation of the “New Ukraine”…the term Soros frequently uses when referring to his Ukraine project.
In a document titled, "Breakfast with US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt", George Soros, (aka GS), discusses Ukraine’s future with: ...

These are the top two results from a websearch Soros+ NGO+spending.
Without attempting to pursue whether the individual organizations are beneficial to Americans' interests or not, these lists are intended to show that George Soros spends considerable money on politics both inside and outside of the USA. I truncated the descriptions significantly, but it you want to know more you can go to the original website.
Quote:
Organizations that, in recent years, have received direct funding and assistance from George Soros and his Open Society Foundations (OSF) include the following. (Comprehensive profiles of each are available in the "Groups" section of DiscoverTheNetworks.org):
Advancement Project: This organization works to organize "communities of color"
Air America Radio: Now defunct, this was a self-identified "liberal" radio network.
Al-Haq: This NGO produces highly politicized reports, papers, books, and legal analyses regarding alleged Israeli human-rights abuses committed against Palestinians.

I'm still waiting for you to make any assertion that's even remotely true. = REAVER
And YOUR assertion that the Koch Bros spent "a billion" dollars on politics, and that Soros is far, far behind them is also not even remotely true.
http://www.westernjournalism.com/koch-brothers-george-soros-fear/
The Kock Bros spend on lobbying, on organizations like ALEC. Soros spends on PACs and activist groups and media outlets. The Koch Bros spend nationally. Soros spends nationally, but he also spends internationally.
Erase from your worldview the concept that the Koch Bros are some sort of mysterious giant force of USA politics, and that George Soros is just a strange little old man who made his money by breaking the bank of England and precipitating the Asian financial crisis of 1997 and speculating against the Malaysian ringit.
The reality is that they both wield tremendous influence, the Koch Bros in the Republican Party and Soros in the Democratic party, and -in addition, because of his foreign background- Soros also has strong influence on Democratic foreign policy and on immigration issues.

I think it's time you disabused yourself of that pleasant little fairy tale about our fearless leaders being some sort of surrogate daddy or mommy, laying awake at night thinking about how to protect the kids. HA! In reality, they're thinking about who to sell them to so that they can get a few more shekels in their pockets.

Dood, you're a one-man McCarthy Commission, aren't you?
Stop hyperventilating.
They have said it has been traced back to a Russian government address because the addresses match another older hack they successfully tracked back.

"They" who? An official statement by the FBI? Someone who is claiming to speak for the FBI? Someone else?
Links, please.

Ah, the infamous "they".
"They" who? An official statement by the FBI? Someone who is claiming to speak for the FBI? Someone else? NOT the FBI, or anyone speaking for them. The only thing the FBI confirmed was that they were looking into it.
In fact James Clapper, Director of National Intelligence said this:
Responding to the DNC-Russian furor in a more blasé and introspective manner than might be expected, Clapper stepped in as a calm voice of reason stating that he was "somewhat taken aback by the hyperventilation on this” and that the US was in “reactionary mode” regarding cyber-attacks. Clapper further indicated he was ‘not ready’ to identify Russia as the hacker “I don’t think we are quite ready yet to make a call on attribution.”
Meanwhile, THUGGR, after being proven wrong over this Our FBI confirms the hacks of the DNC come from Russia (he completely fabricated that), has been reduced to insinuating that it's an official finding. It's not. That presumption came from Crowdstrike. But I couldn't find any other responsible source that echoed that assertion. Crowdstrike looks to be all alone out there with this.
Let me just point out that the author left out vital relevant facts in the opinion piece. Doing that is known as cherry-picking. And whether you do that in the news, in discussion, in debate or in opinion, when you distort the facts, you've changed the nature of your communication into propaganda. But WE don't have any of THAT in the US, do we?!
