You know . . .recently, the Renaissance Festival I perform at hosted "Student Days", where during the week, we are open special hours for pre-booked field trips. The other members of the Royal Court and I were sitting in our little pavillion, answering questions for the students about our period of history and such, when somehow the subject of 'ascension to power' came up and we explained how one becomes King, or Duke, etc. etc. . .and their expressions became very distasteful. One student very pompously pointed out that in 21st Century America, they select their own rulers. We, being actors, made a big show of being shocked and amazed at the very notion. . .and then I got everyone silent with this. . .
"Wait, wait, wait. . .you mean to tell me, in YOUR time and YOUR country, the PEOPLE select their own leaders?"
Audience replies with resounding "Yes, of course!"
"Well. . .how's that been working out for you lately?"

i'm drawing comparison between Palpatine/Sideous and Bush
now ok,here we go...Clone Wars started when Dooku,who was in league with Palpatine/Sideous,led the Seperatist movement,which precipitated the aforementioned clone wars,now i'm not saying that Bush had connections to Saddam or Bin Laden,wouldn't surprise me,but i'm not saying that...
ok,so Palpatine is at the end of his term as Supreme Chancellor of the Republic,gets voted emergency war powers,creates this army and never gives up the power,declaring himself Emperor and the rest is history,now just think,what if Bush tries to pull the same thing,draws out the Iraq disaster and puts his term to as long as needed.we'd be in some real pretty shit then eh? Police State,Empire,New World Order,whatever you want to call it...it'd be dark times indeed...what do you guys think? am i just paranoid or has anyone else been fearing this as well?
