Bwah! Serenity Con Costume (Zol. Harbatkin)

Thursday, April 21, 2005

I`m sure there`s more that could be done with this and it`s only a 3/4 length jacket, but hey, I`m making an effort. Just watch-out for those massive hands! :) Zol. p.s. Pilots Licence courtesy Lurkin`Horror, Gun provided by Sloopy Jon

Hey! Awesome costume! Love the attention to detail...and spurs! SWEET!

Well, yeah! Spurs are important to have. One never knows when they will need to leap on a horse to escape REAVERS!

Very nice costume, Zol. If I was to make one, I fear mine would have to be designed based on that dear old sasquach, Monte.

Crazy good work, Zol! Love the detail. Forget Captain Tight Pants. I like Captain Painted on Pants much better! ;-)

My costumes never look that good, I should take lessons - maybe you should give some

So dude, share your wisdom. What parts did you make (and how'd you make 'em?), and what parts did you buy (and where'd you get 'em?)? ... Does Mel really wear spurs? How'd I miss that? Great costume, comtinue to rock.

Thanks All,

The Spurs were basically an addition to the boots (the boots should be brown and long in length) & the Jacket should be long too (but I like the suede)

Everything, (apart from the gun, the shirt & ID Badge) was from eBay.

The boots & trousers are equestrian supplies (Jodhpurs which were modified by adding 6 buttons for braces & brown cotton tape down the side of the legs [done by a local seamstres]).

The jacket had the buttons removed & holes sewn shut then using the same brown cotton tape as the legs, was used to attach quick-release closures, also leather-look cuffs were added & folded over a few timest give weight & feel.

The Gun was provided by Sloopy_Jon (from this board) & the holster is an old brown leather holster which I added a leather lace for fastening around the leg. & the belt is a 2 hole brown BoHo belt (from eBay)

Hope that helps those who wanted to know - or just mail me.

Darin (Captain Zol. Harbatkin)
